Chapter 317: Angels and Demons

"...H-Hmmm, b-brother..." I kiss Raguion as he presses me forcefully against the table, kissing me back, his hand sliding smoothly along my thigh with a firm touch.

"Qyraen, you’ve seemed pretty irritated lately, so I wanted to do something special for you," he says sweetly, while I give him a huge smile — he really is giving me a wonderful gift.

Knock, Knock, Knock

But just like everything good never lasts, someone interrupts our moment, which fills me with rage. Raguion looks toward the door, and rolling his eyes, he releases me while I adjust my clothes.

"Tsk... enter," I say angrily after straightening my clothes properly. Through the door comes a maid holding some papers. She walks up to me and bows. I glance at Raguion, who sits on top of the table instead of using the chair.

"What is this?" I ask, taking the papers with absolutely no interest in them, but still keeping focus.

"Th-The generals sent this... it’s a report..." The maid speaks somewhat tensely. I dismiss her with a wave of my hand and start reading.

’Estimated ships and invaders... locations... tactical chain... evacuation...’ So many things, lots of important data. The most frustrating part is the evacuation data — several cities are being abandoned, and the angels are coming to the main kingdom to take refuge.

They haven’t even been attacked, but the mere threat of an attack was enough to make them all cower. It seems all the peace we provided has made the civilians quite cowardly.

"Good news?" Raguion asks curiously.

"No, just bad news. Some idiot opened the border, and other idiots in the media didn’t know how to hide the story. Some clever little bastard leaked confidential data and probably bribed the guards to open the border."

"I bet it’s those old geezers thinking they can gain some extra power by releasing information they shouldn’t to the public. They must be waiting for public hysteria so we’ll need to ask for support — in short, they’re trying to pressure us into making a deal with them."

"...Tsk, let me see... do you need something?" Raguion knows me well and immediately understands the situation, clicking his tongue and asking in a helpful tone.

"Yes, Raguion, I want you to kill those old geezers. Say it was a demon attack. Since those old bastards wanted to stir up hysteria among the civilians, let’s make them the example of why that hysteria exists."

"After that, just open all the gates, release the first and second harvest preserved in magic, and donate it to the people as ’charity.’ Also reduce taxes by 3%."

"That will make the civilians see us as ’great’ rulers, reduce their fear, and increase our political power to its peak while boosting the people’s trust."

"Once that happens, we’ll start indoctrinating them extremely quickly about how killing invading demons is a sacred mission that ALL angels should carry out."

"That way, the civilians will abandon their cowardice and trade it for fanaticism and adoration of us. A fanatical worshiper doesn’t care about death if they can fulfill their duty."

"Then it’s easier to mold the minds of the popular masses through narrative control. When morale starts to drop, we’ll have already reduced the population to a stable number, and food, shelter, and protection will return to the green"!

"Hahaha, Qyraen, you’re so wicked. The queen of angels being this wicked is adorable. Of course, that means supplies will stay in the orange for a while — bad, but manageable."

"You really know how to handle business. Alright, I’ll do what you’ve asked. Also, I’ll sell weapons to the population and give a 20% cut of the profits to the nobles who support us."

"Increasing contributions in healthcare, education, and publicity is also a good idea, so we can easily change young minds, wounded minds, and the minds of the stupidest people."

"After all, the wounded will do anything for their saviors, the young are easily molded, and the popular masses usually don’t think much — so good publicity increases control."

"Raguion, you’re quite the wicked king yourself. Do as you please, my love, you know well how it works," I smile at him, tossing the papers onto the table as I sit on the sofa.

"Now, love, shall we continue where we left off? I’m quite excited, and leaving a woman craving pleasure only to stop is so cruel," I say suggestively. He stands up, hopping off the table as he moves toward me.

"Oh no, how cruel. I’m so sorry, sister. I don’t want to let your pleasure cool. Of course we can continue. I’ll deal with these matters at nightfall, and in one week, everything will be as planned..."

"Oh yes, I’ve also heard that the demon queen is here... and apparently she’s quite weak... would you give me the chance to make her my slave if we manage to capture her alive?" He gives a very malicious smile.

"How weak? We can’t leave someone alive who’s a risk."

"Much weaker than you. Unlike the previous demon king, who could devastate a continent without issue, the current Demon Queen can barely destroy a city."

"Plus, her power resembles a swarm-style ability, apparently linked to puppets — but even her puppets would lose easily to you, so she’s no real threat."

"...Do as you please. As long as you don’t father a bastard child, I don’t care." He smiles at my response, climbing on top of me.

"You really know how to make a man happy. I don’t want a child with a demon, don’t worry. And if she bites too hard, I can simply get rid of her — of course, that’s if she survives." Raguion hits the mark.

I’ll probably be the one who fights, so if I find that whore, I’ll butcher her for catching my man’s attention.

"You really know how to stir my jealousy, love."

"Just giving you extra motivation to finish this. You work better with clear motivations," he says confidently.

"Hehehe, you know me so well. Don’t worry, brother, if she survives, I’ll make sure to leave her pretty little face intact for you — but I can’t guarantee she’ll come out alive, so don’t get your hopes up."

"I’ll think about it, sister. Now, let’s continue where we left off? I don’t want you getting stressed. Let’s make the most of the free time we still have." He begins to undress me as I smile at him, saving my hatred for that demonic bitch for later.

...

...

"Tsk! Tsk! Tsk!! Damn Evelyn!! Damn Evelyn!! I can’t believe she sent me to deal with this crap alone!!" I complain, looking at the angel city.

"Miss Marie, do you need help?" a soldier asks. Twenty soldiers came with me just to verify some things.

"Shut up!! You piece of shit!! I don’t need help! Do you think I need help from someone as inferior as you to destroy a mere city of angels!!" I look at the city ahead of us as we approach the wall.

"Do you think I’m weak, is that it, you idiot?!! YOU THINK I’M WEAK!!" I scream at him, already irritated at being sent to deal with all this bullshit alone, as if I were some kind of pack mule.

"N-Never, Miss Marie..." The soldier looks frightened.

"That’s not what it looks like!! I bet you saw that garbage record of the fight between me and my brothers, didn’t you!! I AM NOT WEAK! It was all because of those trash domains!!! YOU THINK I’M WEAK?!" I question him again.

"N-No." The soldiers panic as I grow more and more irritated.

"I’ll show you who’s weak!!!" I glare at this shitty city. I only looked so pathetic in that fight because of that nonsense about having six domains raised — I’ll show how powerful I am!! I AM STRONG.

"[Seismic Impalement]" I stomp the ground hard using magic. As soon as the spell is released, a faint golden and bluish glow emerges. Suddenly, everything around us shakes as if an intense earthquake had struck.

Everything cracks, shattering countless things, followed by thousands of rock stakes piercing through everything from bottom to top. The sight becomes a true massacre — thousands of angel bodies impaled throughout the city.

The stakes are seven meters each, like spears that impaled more than 32,000 angels who were in this city. Instant death for most, painting the city streets red.

"SEE WHO’S WEAK!!" I look at the soldiers, who were also impaled by stone stakes.

"I am not weak... I am powerful!! It’s all that bitch Evelyn’s fault for forcing everyone to use their domains! If it weren’t for that, the fight would have been incredible!!" It disgusts me to know that the official records anyone can access describe that fight — that pathetic fight that made me look weak.

"Who do you think you are to attack the city, demon?!" An angel appears flying from the sky, wearing golden armor as he fires a large beam of magic.

I point at him using my blessing. Immediately, swords appear from every direction and shred his body. I create thousands of swords with my blessing, making them fall from high in the sky in a rain of swords.

While I create a barrier to protect myself from the rebellious swords that fall toward me due to my curse, ensuring all angels in the area are dead.

"Tsk, job done, Evelyn..." I mutter, irritated.

"Good work."

"Huaa!?" I look back and see one of the impaled soldiers moving and staring at me, and then I realize it’s a puppet.

"...That’s unsettling. Are you spying on me?"

"Supervising. Now stay there until the soldiers arrive. In the meantime, clean up the mess you made. You destroyed the city, and now some adjustments will be needed for the soldiers to rest."

"...I’m not a janitor."

"You are whatever you need to be for this war. Now finish this quickly — we’ll arrive in three hours."
