Chapter 294: Other Sides

"Well, Arial, are you satisfied? This is the best temporary body I can create with the magic I have, and it only works because we’re both water-type nymphs." I ask Arial while she stands in the physical manifestation I made for her. The appearance has only slight changes compared to her real form.

"Nerina... it’s a good body. I think it’s adequate, even though it’s almost identical to my real body. Wouldn’t it be better to give me a totally different body? After all, if Evelyn sees this appearance, she’ll feel like she’s seen me before." She makes a valid point.

"No. If you have a body that’s too different but your attitude, tone, and actions resemble something Evelyn has already seen, she’ll start questioning things. But if you look very similar to someone from her past, yet with some differences, she’ll quickly stop wondering." I explain to her how this should more or less work.

"You’re the one who knows best, it’s your power—"

"Arial, I swear if you try to reveal anything to Evelyn that makes her recover her memories, I will butcher you." I threaten her with the sweetest and gentlest smile I can possibly give someone.

"..." She falls silent and looks down, clearly uncomfortable. After all, she is much weaker than me and wouldn’t stand a chance if I tried to kill her.

"I wasn’t going to... say anything. A memory-less Evelyn is better, I think. But if she remembers on her own, it’s not my fault! You’re the one keeping me almost identical to my true form." She speaks evasively, possibly trying to shift the blame onto me.

"Sure, sure. I’ll know! After all, Evelyn is inside my simplified domain." She and I step into the area that, from the outside, looks like a small, translucent blue bubble covering the island.

"This place smells really strongly of blood." Arial says, sniffing the air. The smell of blood isn’t even my fault in this case.

"Evelyn has been testing a lot of things using blood, because blood conducts Hikishin well. So the island has started to smell like this in certain places. In the end, Evelyn is a nymph connected to the manipulation of materials, mostly those linked to bodies, so the smell kind of makes sense." I tell her as she walks, stepping on the sand with curiosity.

"This is a good technique you have. Even though it’s a temporary body, there are no lakes nearby for me to inhabit, and yet I’m completely fine, even if I can’t use even ten percent of my powers." She seems enchanted by the ability to exist outside of a lake.

"I agree, but it only works because you’re in an area defined as ’ocean.’ So don’t get too excited... Though Evelyn owes you a body, doesn’t she? With a real body, none of us would be trapped in our domains anymore." I would like it if Evelyn built a body for me.

But currently, I’m too strong for a normal body to withstand, so that’s on hold. Although, if we’re talking about the more intimate side, Evelyn’s power is every nymph’s dream because it allows her to move freely. Meanwhile, most nymphs are trapped in the areas of their domains, like Arial with her lakes and me with the ocean.

"Yes, Evelyn owes me a body, but I won’t collect on that debt just yet... I have plans for the future with that request." Arial dodges the subject as we arrive at Evelyn’s house.

"I’ll ’introduce’ you to Evelyn as if you’re someone new, so I don’t know that you two know each other. Whether you decide to tell her you know her or not, I really don’t care. Just be careful what you say." I make it clear that she has the freedom to make up whatever she wants.

"Evelynnnn~!!! I’m here! And I brought my friend to meet you and so she can help you out!!" I say, opening the door to the house. But I immediately freeze. Arial freezes. Evelyn also freezes.

"..." There’s an awkward, strange silence for a few seconds while Arial and I calmly observe and absorb the scene.

"T-This isn’t what it looks like!!" Evelyn—or rather, the two Evelyns who are on the couch and were obviously starting to have sex—say nervously, catching me one hundred percent off guard. The Evelyn on top pulls her tongue away from the other Evelyn’s intimate area.

"I’ll give you some privacy." I slowly close the door as we hear the sound of a thud followed by the sound of footsteps running, as if both are hurriedly tidying everything up.

...

...

...

"Grace!! Graceee!!! GRACE!! Where are you? Don’t hide from your wife. That’s very ugly behavior." I yell for Grace, who is somewhere on the ship hiding from me.

"Marie, calm down!! Can we talk? Look, I know you’re mad, but we can reach a compromise here!!" Grace speaks to me from somewhere as I look around, trying to figure out where the sound is coming from.

"GRACE!! Show yourself... I won’t hurt you... much." I open the cabinets on the ship, searching carefully in every corner while trying to locate her by sound and faint traces of magic.

"Marie, I swear it wasn’t on purpose! I thought it was you!! From behind, you looked alike." Grace says something that irritates me even more. The only reason I haven’t sunk this boat yet is because they’re expensive.

"You got confused!? You damn—! You don’t recognize your own wife’s ass anymore?" We were both busy in different parts of the ship, so when Grace finished up, she headed to the deck.

But she slapped a girl’s ass!! And when she turned around to walk away, she saw me behind her with a look of pure hatred on my face. This damn woman says she got confused!! I have my doubts!! And then I ran to slap her, but she dodged, I slipped in a puddle of water, and fell into the ocean, completely ruining my makeup.

"Grace, I swear when I find you, you’re so screwed!!" I punch a cabinet, breaking it as I try to detect her magic, but the bitch disguised it well.

"Love, please forgive me! You’re both blonde and short!! And I wasn’t paying attention to the clothes! I swear it wasn’t flirting with someone else! Besides, you falling in the water was your own fault." She shifts the blame onto me, as if her naughtiness in slapping other people’s asses is my fault.

"Shut up! Show yourself now! The longer you stall, the more I want to kill you!!" I punch a window on the boat, shattering it, and proceed to break any piece of furniture in the room that someone could fit inside.

"You traitor! How could you confuse your wife’s ass like that!? And are you messing with me by calling me short? Have you lost all sense of danger? I’m going to drown you in this sea!!!" I quickly leave the empty room and move on to the next one.

"Love, stop breaking the boat. You know this is—"

"Shut up. Shut up. Shut up. Shut up. Shut up. Shut up. Shut up. Shut up. Shut up. Shut up. Shut up. Shut up. Shut up!!!" I finish searching the last room on the upper deck, having soaked the floor with water because I’m still wet.

"I swear the moment I find you, what I do to you will be much worse than what I was planning before!! Every second that passes, my anger grows. You think you can hide from me forever on this boat? You only have two more floors left." I quickly head down to the lower deck.

Ready to break any furniture, nook, or cranny where I think she might be hiding. I’m going to find her one way or another, no matter what I have to do.

"W-Wait!! You plan to break everything all the way down to the lower deck?! That’s the engine room!! If you break that, the ship will sink and we’ll be defenseless against monsters!!" She speaks up, alarmed.

"Then show yourself!! Because I don’t care about sinking this piece of crap ship!! Actually, I’m too pissed off to think! I’ll pay for the damages later. I’m going to sink the whole damn ship!!!" I give up trying to figure out where she is and start running back to the deck to sink this damn boat.

"!!!"

"Wait!!! Wait, Marie!! Don’t do that! What about the people on the ship!! And me here? You can’t just sink the whole ship just to catch me!! That’s insane!!" She says that, but she still doesn’t try to reveal herself for me to catch her. What a hypocrite.

"Quiet, you whore! I’m going to—" As soon as I step outside, I look toward the door to yell at her, but I immediately spot her legs and discover she’s stuffed herself into the ship’s crow’s nest, way up high.

"YOU WRETCH!!!" I scream at her as she looks down, realizing she’s been discovered.

"W-Wait!! M-Marie, don’t do anything rash that you might regret!! Look, I messed up, but—" She keeps trying to give her stupid excuses, but I obviously won’t accept them after she failed me like this.

"Die!!" With my blessing, I create an immense typhoon and launch it at her. The typhoon rocks the boat violently and disrupts the ocean winds and the clouds in the sky.

"MARIE, FORGIVE M— AAAAAHHHHHHH." She is flung through the air along with the crow’s nest. The mast snaps and flies off together with that damn pervert who dared to confuse me with some random soldier.

"If you had horns, I swear I’d saw them off!!" I shout at her as she goes flying off with the typhoon. She should be back in a few hours. In the meantime, she can rethink all her life choices.

"I can’t believe I was mistaken for some random brat!!! The audacity!! She’s not getting any of the coddling and benefits I give her anymore!!"
