Chapter 93: Linda Adams

"Thanks." Logan said with a smile.

Luna’s gesture had slightly eased the weight pressing on his mind.

Luna tilted her head, brushing a loose strand of hair behind her ear.

"Why are you thanking me? What if I really want to fight you?" Luna’s eyes gleamed with mischief as she stared at Logan.

"Do you?" Logan asked with a faint smile. After a brief pause, he added, "I don’t go easy on my opponents."

"Not even on me?" Luna said, then instantly realized what had slipped out of her mouth.

Her ears flushed red.

"Things might be different with you." Logan simply said and didn’t elaborate further.

Luna didn’t know why, but warmth bloomed across her chest at those words.

Her face reddened further, and she stammered slightly as she tried to speak.

"I... yo..."

In the next instant, Luna turned invisible.

"I’ll... ta... talk to you some other time."

Logan stared dumbfounded at the spot she had vanished from before shaking his head lightly.

He soon reached the school gates and was about to step out when his steps halted.

A black vehicle was parked just outside.

Logan wouldn’t have stopped if it were any ordinary car. But this vehicle belonged to...

’Linda Adams? So, she finally arrived.’

Logan’s heartbeat quickened slightly, and the system’s soft chime echoed inside his mind.

[Ding! New mission received!]

[Please proceed to form an intimate bond with the heroine’s mother!] 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎

[Rewards will be distributed based on mission completion rating.]

Linda Adams...

Avery Adams’ mother and one of the most powerful women in the entire novel world he’d written.

Though he wasn’t sure if that remained completely true now that this world had become reality, it still didn’t change the fact that her strength was terrifying.

She was a monster on the battlefield. A woman capable of clearing multiple S-rank origin gates entirely alone.

The only places untouched by her were the far north, the Pyramid of Gaza, and the other forbidden zones that housed unknown entities.

If Logan’s guess wasn’t wrong, there were likely gods hidden within those origin gates.

The car door opened with a soft, expensive click, and she stepped out.

Linda was the kind of woman who made the world itself feel smaller simply by existing.

She stood at 5’9", her figure elegant yet powerful, blending mature beauty with raw lethality. Long silver-grey hair cascaded down her back like flowing moonlight, framing a face that looked no older than thirty-five despite being well into her forties. Her features were sharp and aristocratic. High cheekbones. Full lips painted a deep wine red. Piercing silver-grey eyes that seemed to slice through whatever they landed on.

She wore a tailored black pantsuit that hugged her dangerous curves, the jacket left slightly open to reveal a white blouse straining modestly against her chest. Sleek black heels added even more presence to her already commanding frame.

Around her neck hung a simple silver pendant most people would mistake for ordinary jewelry.

Logan knew better.

It was an S-rank artifact capable of leveling entire city blocks.

Even from this distance, he could feel the pressure radiating from her. It wasn’t merely aura or origin energy.

It was refined killing intent fused with absolute confidence.

The kind possessed only by someone who had walked through hell and emerged smiling.

She slowly scanned the school entrance, and when her gaze finally settled on Logan, her lips curved into a faint, knowing smile that sent a cold chill crawling down his spine.

’So this is the boy my daughter keeps mentioning, the one she’s found interest in...’

Linda’s voice didn’t need to rise.

When she spoke, even the air itself seemed to listen.

"Logan," she said smoothly, her tone rich and velvety, carrying the faintest trace of amusement. "I’ve been looking forward to meeting you."

Logan swallowed subtly, forcing his heartbeat to steady.

This wasn’t just Avery’s mother.

This was Linda Adams.

"The Silver Reaper."

One of only three people across the entire continent who possessed the unofficial title of SS-rank solo clearer.

A living legend who had personally slaughtered three Ancient-class origin gate bosses.

And according to the system...

He was now supposed to form an intimate bond with her.

For a brief moment, Logan genuinely didn’t know where to begin.

Almost.

If it were anyone else, they wouldn’t even know how to approach Linda. But Logan was different.

He knew her secret.

Her deeply buried fetish.

It hadn’t been discovered early in the novel since her daughter had never had a boyfriend. But after Avery publicly acknowledged Ethan as her man, Linda’s hidden desires had been exposed for all to see.

She loved taking whatever belonged to her daughter.

Especially in romance.

Her mind was twisted in that particular way.

Perhaps it was a result of the overwhelming strength she possessed. Or perhaps something else entirely.

Either way, it was about to become useful to him.

’First I need to get Avery Adams. Then naturally, Linda will be mine...’

It was like killing two birds with one stone.

Still, Logan knew it would be far from easy.

Avery was a complete battle maniac who lived purely for the thrill of fighting.

The bigger issue, however, was that he needed the new origin path immediately.

And that was mainly because Linda belonged to the potion origin path.

He knew of an ancient potion no one had ever discovered in the novel.

Initially, it had been intended as a cheat for one of the main character’s future heroines, but it later became a plot hole he never bothered fixing. Since it was designed to elevate that woman directly to Ethan’s level of strength... its effects had to be monstrous.

’Another thing that needs to be added to the list.’

Swoosh!

A faint breeze brushed against Logan’s skin.

The next instant, Linda was already standing directly in front of him.

The surrounding space distorted faintly around her, almost illusion-like.

"It seems you’ve... never heard about me?"
