Chapter 200: Who is she?
The day after the Incident happened.
Far away from Novaris Academy.
In an unknown location.
Three figures suddenly materialized inside a vast, dimly lit hall. Ripples spread through the surrounding space before quickly fading away.
Click...
The sound of footsteps echoed softly throughout the enormous chamber.
The woman standing at the front began walking forward with calm, measured steps.
Towering white pillars lined both sides of the hall, stretching all the way toward a grand staircase at the far end. Ancient runes glowed faintly upon their surfaces, bathing the chamber in a mysterious crimson light.
Behind the woman, two men silently followed.
One possessed burgundy hair, while the other had dark hair accompanied by a neatly trimmed beard.
They were none other than Boris and Albert.
The woman leading them appeared to be in her early twenties.
She had short black bob-cut hair that framed her delicate face. A pair of round-rimmed glasses rested neatly upon her nose, giving her the appearance of an ordinary scholar rather than someone of great importance.
Her smooth fair skin and emotionless black eyes made her expression impossible to read.
She neither hurried nor slowed her pace.
Every step carried quiet authority. At the end of the hall stood an enormous throne carved from stone.
Beside the staircase that leads to throne waited a young man with dark gray hair and deep brown eyes. Although he appeared to be in his late twenties, the calm discipline in his posture suggested years of unwavering loyalty.
The moment he saw the woman approaching, he immediately knelt on one knee and lowered his head respectfully.
"Lady Sefira. You have finally returned. I greet you."
The woman merely glanced at him.
"You may rise, Gavin."
Her calm voice echoed throughout the silent hall.
Gavin immediately stood.
"Thank you, my Lady."
He stepped aside respectfully as she ascended the wide staircase leading toward the throne.
Boris and Albert also stopped near the foot of the stairs, standing beside Gavin without uttering a single word.
The woman reached the throne before elegantly sitting upon it.
She crossed one leg over the other. A silver ring rested upon the ring finger of her right hand. It looked like a storage ring, but it was not.
Without saying anything, she slowly removed it. The instant the ring left her finger. An overwhelming pressure flooded the entire hall. The atmosphere became unimaginably heavy.
The mana within the surroundings trembled violently.
Even Gavin, Boris, and Albert instinctively lowered their heads.
Cold sweat trickled down their foreheads as their bodies trembled under the terrifying pressure. It wasn’t intentional. It was merely the aura leaking from the woman before them.
"...Sigh."
She let out a quiet breath.
Then after a while her appearance began to change. The short black hair gradually faded into pure snow-white.
It continued growing longer until it flowed gracefully down her back. The ends of her hair slowly transformed into a brilliant orange-red, resembling dancing flames.
Her ordinary black eyes disappeared. In their place emerged radiant amber-gold eyes that burned like living fire.
She removed her glasses as they burned into ashes.
Her fair complexion became almost porcelain-white, flawless beyond comparison.
Even her plain clothing dissolved into particles of light before reforming into an elegant white gown adorned with intricate golden ornaments and crimson gemstones.
Her chest was huge, covered by her white robe while thick thighs hidden underneath.
Every movement she made radiated regal elegance. She no longer resembled an ordinary academy student.
She resembled someone born to rule. Someone standing far above ordinary humans.
Lady Sefira leaned comfortably against the throne.
Everything had returned to its original state.
She calmly spoke. "Everything proceeded exactly as I had planned."
Her burning golden eyes slowly shifted toward the three men standing below.
"Did you contact Victor? What is the current situation inside the Academy?"
Gavin respectfully lowered his head.
"Yes, my Lady. I contacted Victor shortly after everything concluded. The situation has mostly stabilized. All of the invading demons were eliminated except one. His name was Botis."
Albert quietly raised an eyebrow before glancing sideways toward Boris.
His expression clearly conveyed one message.
’Isn’t that your brother?’
Boris noticed the look immediately. His eyebrow twitched slightly.
’Shut up. Just because our name is similar doesn’t mean we have connections!’
Albert barely managed to suppress a smile.
Meanwhile, Gavin continued his report without interruption.
"They have held Botis in custody. While the substitute bodies prepared by Boris and Albert were successfully discovered by the Academy."
Gavin paused for a second before continuing, "The Academy officially confirmed the death of your fake identity...Mary. For all official records, Mary no longer exists. They have accepted her death without suspicion."
Sefira silently nodded.
"And the investigation?" She asked.
"The Academy has begun investigating the attack. They currently believe the demons specifically targeted Kaelan Nightfall. They are still trying to determine the motive."
"I see."
She rested her chin upon one hand.
"What about the underground temple?"
Gavin answered immediately.
"The Academy discovered it. However, they have yet to uncover its true purpose. They’re still conducting investigations."
Silence followed.
Sefira’s thoughts gradually drifted elsewhere.
They went toward a young man with silver-white hair.
A young man who had stood before her without hesitation. Someone who had risked his own life to protect her and fought the demon alone.
She remained silent for several moments before quietly asking,
"...What about Noah? Is he safe?"
Gavin nodded.
"Yes. He survived. His condition is stable. However, he remained unconscious the last time Victor contacted me. He hadn’t awakened yet."
Gavin paused briefly.
"But once he regains consciousness...he’ll most likely report everything he witnessed inside the underground temple. He’ll also mention the statue you have brought from there."
Sefira didn’t appear concerned.
"That’s fine. I never intended to hide the Moon Goddess from the Academy. I intentionally lure Noah inside that temple. I even used some mind magic on him to become more curious. And let him witness death of Mary."
She calmly continued,
"Also there were several demons present. Along with two unknown human infiltrators. If the Academy investigates thoroughly... They’ll most likely conclude that a third hidden party escaped after stealing that statue."
She then said, "And even if they thought something is too weird, they won’t find anything about us."
Gavin nodded respectfully.
"That is the most probable conclusion."
"Excellent."
She shifted her gaze toward Boris and Albert.
"You two also carried out your duties flawlessly. You followed every instruction without error."
Her voice remained calm. Yet every word naturally carried unquestionable authority.
The two men immediately bowed deeply. "It was simply our duty, Boss."
"We only carried out the mission exactly as instructed."
"Very good."
Sefira leaned back against the throne. "Gavin, contact that vampire and tell her we got something related to their goddess."
"Yes, My lady." He replied.
"Now, you are all dismissed."
