Chapter 1550: Chapter 1548: Richard, Please Call Me Richard
Real world? So everything I once experienced was indeed virtual... I’m really not surprised at all... Richard listened to the words, looked at the man in front of him, his expression unchanged, and calmly asked: "How should I address you?"
"Me? You can call me Richard," the other replied.
"Richard?" Richard looked at the other and hesitated, couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow... The other seemed lazier than imagined, not bothering to change even the name along with the identical body design...
"Of course, considering we have the same name, you can call me by another name—Coret," the other then spoke up.
Coret?
Richard listened to the words, looking at the man calling himself "Coret," blinking his eyes... Based on his previous series of studies, he had thoroughly deciphered the language used by the other. If not mistaken, the other’s language is a mixture, composed of many languages like English, French, German, Russian, Wizard World language, Ancient Wizard Civilization’s universal language, or vice versa, the other disassembled part of his own language and turned it into numerous languages in the virtual world.
Through this, he mastered the spell to leave the world. Also through this, he could confirm that the name "Coret" the man claimed was not an ordinary name.
"Coret," if written in Earth’s popular language—English, translates to create, or creator—the latter signifies the creator, the former signifies creation, the beginning of all spells in Wizard World.
So, is the other claiming to be the "Creator?"
There’s certainly no big problem with that, since the other, in a sense, is indeed the Creator God.
Or perhaps, the other simply didn’t bother to come up with a new name and directly translated it?
Just like a wolf introducing itself to people, "Hello, I’m Big Grey Wolf," just like a person introducing themselves to others, "Hello, I am Bipedal Human."
At this moment, the man claiming to be Coret seemed to have guessed Richard’s thoughts, spoke up: "You think I am somewhat indifferent to names, right? Actually, I feel it’s fine, as long as it works.
Speaking of which, you should have gotten used to it too, since the previous virtual world you were in had many places named directly by me like that. For instance, the gigantic island you first lived on—Smans Island, spelled as smath, means smash, because it’s a small fragment peeled from the Main Continent. The Main Continent, called Mann Continent, is simpler, spelled as main, signifying major.
Furthermore, your naming of things isn’t much better, right? Naming some nuclear weapons Friendship, Love, Persuasion, maybe just a tiny bit better than me."
Richard: "..." Thought about it, decided not to delve into this topic for further discussion.
Looking at Coret, changing the topic, Richard asked: "You call yourself Richard, I also call myself Richard, if... I guess correctly, there should be more than just you and me, the two Richards, right?"
"Correct." Coret nodded, not denying it, "Absolutely correct. Besides me being Richard Mani, besides you being Richard Austin, there is also Richard Scott, Richard Amund, Richard Coton... a series of Richards."
Pausing, Coret looked at Richard and said: "But despite so many Richards, you are the first to meet me. Not only leaving the virtual world early, but also integrating consciousness with the real world early, which was largely unexpected for me."
"Maybe it’s because the card game you designed was too simple." Richard thought for a bit and responded, "That thing must be an incomplete version, with many flaws, allowing me to pass almost as in cheating. Otherwise, I definitely wouldn’t have woken up so early; you would have more time to prepare for the meeting with me, without looking rushed."
"Ah, that..." Coret waved his hand awkwardly, "Well, just consider it too simple, since it was something I designed casually during my lunch break. But it’s all small matters, no need to mind. Let’s talk about serious business."
"Serious business? Like what?" Richard asked.
"Like the things you’re currently puzzled about; follow me, everything can be answered for you." Coret said, as he stepped out of the room through another door, taking two steps and turning back to explain, "Yes, you don’t need to voice your puzzled thoughts, I can likely guess what you’re curious about. After all, your consciousness was made with a part of my soul, meaning your way of thinking is almost no different from mine, except for slight differences in character settings and details."
You sure? Richard’s thoughts spun... The thing he’s most puzzled about now is...
"What you most want to know is the form in which your previous virtual world exists in this real world, right?" Coret said aloud.
Richard blinked, then pursed his lips, said nothing, and followed Coret out through the door.
The reason is simple, because Coret was right.
...
Walking out of the door, along a wider corridor to the end, entering a giant hall-like room.
In this room, there are five crystal balls with a diameter of nearly ten meters, each crystal ball base connected with numerous wires, inside the crystal balls constantly flashing dazzling white light.
Coret stopped, pointing at the five crystal balls, and told Richard: "Before your eyes are virtual worlds; the closest one to you is the virtual world you just left, which ran a total of three design templates."
Richard raised his eyebrows slightly, walked closer to the huge crystal ball beside him, tried to see what was inside, but saw nothing except bright light.
Seeing until his eyes began to sting, he had to look away, turning to ask Coret: "What does it mean to have run three design templates?"
"In simple terms, it means the virtual world you were previously in underwent three destructions, had three prehistoric civilizations."
"Three destructions? Three prehistoric civilizations?" Richard asked curiously, "What were they?"
According to his understanding, the Ancient Wizard Civilization barely counts as one prehistoric civilization; with three, it means there were two more ancient civilizations that existed and were destroyed, and destroyed so thoroughly that no traces were left.
Coret listened with no impatience, displaying an extremely willing-to-answer attitude: "Three prehistoric civilizations... The first is called Necro Mansi, the second is called Sorcere, the third is called Vizhed."
"Nixman? Sorcere? Vizhed?" Richard listened and thought for a second before speaking, "These three words seem to all signify Wizards, right?"
"So what?"
"Uh, nothing, go on."
"That’s correct then."
Coret began to narrate.
