Chapter 1520: Chapter 1518: Dawn Project

"The world of the Ancient Wizard Civilization..." The old man showed a look of reminiscence, with a tone of admiration, he continued to tell Richard, "It truly was a world to yearn for.

At the beginning of the Ancient Wizard Civilization, they indeed went through some hard times, having to face numerous natural disasters and strange species. To ensure the continuation of their civilization, countless wizards shed their blood and sacrificed.

After several generations of wizards, the situation changed slightly. Some powerful beings, due to their talent, advanced far on the wizard’s path and held up the protective umbrella for the civilization. They started to lead the progress of life’s evolution within the civilization, one milestone being the Dawn Plan."

"The Dawn Plan?"

"Yes, the Dawn Plan, as the name implies, is a grand plan representing a bright future. Its successful implementation laid the foundation for the Ancient Wizard Civilization to develop to its peak."

"So what exactly does this plan entail?"

"As for the specifics... to put it plainly, it’s a comprehensive transformation of individual lives throughout the Wizard Civilization from top to bottom, altering the essence of life.

Once the transformation was complete, there seemed to be no significant change on the surface, but inside, ordinary lives leaped to become superior lives several levels higher — possessing nearly limitless potential, almost boundless growth capability, strong combat power, a strong life force, and a very high level of creativity.

I can tell you this: After the Dawn Plan was implemented, there were no longer any ordinary people in the entire Ancient Wizard Civilization. Even a newborn baby had extraordinary power coursing through their veins. When they grew up and received complete training, they could naturally become a First-level Wizard — as easy as drinking water."

"A First-level Wizard?" Hearing this, Richard blinked and inquisitively asked, "Why only a First-level Wizard? According to you, Mr. Gao Ge, if the Ancient Wizard Civilization was powerful enough to change the essence of life on a large scale, couldn’t they make each individual even stronger? Now, in the Wizard World, the highest is a Level 4 Wizard, and in legends, the highest is said to be a Level 9 Wizard. Why didn’t the Ancient Wizard Civilization transform everyone into High Level Wizards?"

"High Level Wizards?" The old man laughed, "Of course they wanted to do that, but the higher the wizard level, the more resources it consumes to transform an individual. The resources used to create one High Level Wizard can be used to transform thousands of lower-level wizards, and sometimes, one High Level Wizard is not as useful as thousands of lower-level wizards.

This is like an army: While it needs high-ranking commanders, the actual combat effectiveness depends on ordinary soldiers and junior officers. An invincible commander, even if you have ten or twenty, cannot be called an army. Instead, a commander combined with a hundred officers and ten thousand soldiers can be called an army.

Moreover, while the wizard level is important, it is not everything. A true strong figure, even if their wizard level is rather low, can ultimately stand at the peak by relying on their understanding of spells and rules. In contrast, a weak person forcibly transformed into a High Level Wizard is merely a defense-powerful sandbag, and if their mind doesn’t operate well, they can be killed by an enemy of a much lower level, without any surprise.

For this reason, to maximize the use of resources, the Ancient Wizard Civilization set the transformation standard at the level of a First-level Wizard. Their purpose was to raise the lower limit of individual life within the civilization; as for the upper limit... that depends on each individual’s efforts.

Subsequent developments proved that this decision was very correct. The individuals transformed in the Dawn Plan possessed the strength of a First-level Wizard, not too weak, giving them a certain ability for exploration, yet not too strong, providing them with the motivation to strive for upward development. They called themselves the Dawn Wizards, leading the entire Ancient Wizard Civilization into an era of great exploration filled with light.

They continuously explored the depths of the sea, the void, and every possible place to explore, eventually breaking through the plane barriers and advancing towards other planes beyond the Main Plane.

One plane after another, they were discovered and, upon discovery, they were contacted, then integrated and transformed by the Ancient Wizard Civilization, followed by larger-scale exploration.

The Ancient Wizard Civilization did not favor killing; very few planes were conquered through violence. Most planes were gradually absorbed as part of the Ancient Wizard Civilization’s system. As you saw in the previous images, besides humans, countless strange creatures coexist. In a sense, these strange creatures were also life entities of the Ancient Wizard Civilization, transformed into Dawn Wizards and part of the exploration of other planes."

At this point, the old man paused, looked at Richard, and said, "You should be able to imagine how splendid and developed the Ancient Wizard Civilization would be after exploring and integrating countless planes. And all this, in turn, motivated the Ancient Wizard Civilization to explore and integrate even more actively.

At that time, almost the vast majority of individuals in the Ancient Wizard Civilization believed that exploring, discovering, and integrating new things was the greatest significance of life and the most correct way for the entire civilization to operate. Some people declared slogans to gradually explore to the edge of the void, exploring all planes with or without life to achieve the ultimate goal of exploration.

Some were even more radical, planning a project to use a special method to leap and connect to an unprecedentedly distant plane, or even directly connect to the edge of the void. This way, they could greatly shorten the time to achieve their ultimate goal."

Upon hearing this, Richard thought of something and asked the old man, "In the previous images, on the giant’s forehead, the words ’Celebrating the Beginning of the Great Exploration Project’ referred to this, right? The crowd gathered in the images was also there for this matter?"

"Yes, very correct." The old man nodded, "The people in the images were indeed there for this matter, as supporters wanting to witness a historical moment firsthand."

"Then, if I’m not wrong, the deep well in the square in the images is the equipment intended for this plan, right?" Richard asked again.

"You indeed figured it out. But that’s normal, after all, you’re quite familiar with the magic runes used in that deep well — if you weren’t, you wouldn’t have been able to create a Wall-breaking Device to open many shelters and open my Heaven," the old man said.

Richard didn’t respond to the latter part of the old man’s sentence, he just asked, "Why make it in the shape of a well? From what I know, it would be more convenient to make the instrument in other forms, wouldn’t it?"

"That’s because the size of the equipment needed for the plan far exceeds your imagination. To ensure stronger barrier-piercing power and longer projection, the equipment was designed to be very large from the beginning. Initially, the plan initiators tried to construct it on a Floating City, to be transported to the appropriate location for use," the old man said.
