Chapter 1510: Chapter 1508: The Road I’ve Walked
Another half month has passed.
Gray Head Mountain, White Ya Mountain, Purple Rhododendron Mountain, Orleans Count Mountain, the mountain bodies of these four mountains have all disappeared, replaced by colossal constructions crafted from countless metals.
Each structure stands over sixty meters tall, with a top diameter exceeding fifty meters, and a bottom diameter of over one hundred and twenty meters. Any random part of it is bigger than a person, and the surface is etched with arm-thick recessed magic runes, which evoke a sense of awe.
Although most people still don’t fully understand what these objects are, it doesn’t prevent them from marveling at their grandeur. In the beginning stages of construction, one couldn’t possibly imagine this creation would come from their own hands.
The project is nearing its completion, and the number of workers has significantly diminished. Under the dim sky, the construction site is much quieter. Only the quality management supervisors are tirelessly checking every detail, ensuring there are no mistakes.
A gust of wind passed by, and in the wilderness less than a mile from the mountain sites, the air contracted into a ball, out of which fell a human figure clad in a silver robe.
He was another Silver Priest.
His name was Rachel, with brown hair and thick eyebrows, different in appearance from Sharye earlier.
But his purpose was the same as Sharye’s—destruction.
His eyes were wide open, flickering dangerously, as he looked toward the mountain sites.
He slowly inhaled and raised his hand, destructive energy began to gather in the palm.
But before the energy could take shape, Rachel suddenly sensed something, abruptly turning to look behind him.
Standing behind him was a figure in a form-fitting gray robe, with extremely bright eyes calmly observing him. It was unclear how long they had been watching or when they had arrived.
"You’re Richard!" Rachel’s eyes shrank, calling out.
"Yes, I am Richard." Richard nodded in acknowledgment, looking at Rachel with interest as he asked, "By the way, didn’t your companions previously tell you not to try approaching here again? They’ve tried sneakily infiltrating places dozens or even hundreds of miles away from here, but I’ve been able to detect, capture, and handle them. Only a tiny fraction manage to escape, yet you brazenly arrive at this absolute core area—how is this different from suicide?"
Rachel squinted his eyes: "Perhaps I’m different from them."
"You mean you’re powerful?" Richard raised his eyebrows, "Hmm, let me think, people like Micah and Lucic before you also said the same thing, but their outcomes weren’t very good."
Rachel was visibly stumped for a few seconds; he then straightened his expression, speaking coldly, "Perhaps you are truly impressive, impressive enough to kill God’s servants, but that’s all there is to it."
As he spoke, Rachel’s aura slowly intensified, and a strong wind blew around.
The leaden gray clouds in the sky were affected, squeezing together and making the surrounding light even dimmer. Dust rose from the ground, filling the air, blurring the vision.
A lofty majesty exuded from Rachel, and he said loudly: "God is invincible, no matter how strong you are, in His presence you are powerless. Do you know, you are walking on an incredibly wrong path? I am here on God’s command to stop you. You better comply and give up voluntarily, or else..."
"Or else... if you continue down this path, you will surely regret it!" Rachel finally declared loudly, reverberatingly.
The wind around suddenly grew stronger, lifting small gravel and causing nearby large stones to slowly roll, making a "rumbling" sound, like muffled thunder.
"Regret?" Richard listened and raised his eyebrows slightly, looking at Rachel with a sardonic smile, "I’ll regret it?"
He would regret it?
Walking this journey, had he ever regretted?
Scenes from the past flashed quickly.
Blue Lion Kingdom.
As a small child bundled in a blanket, huddling on the bed, he continuously flipped through thick books by candlelight, frowning and trying to find an answer.
As a teenager, he conducted experiments incomprehensible to others in the palace, measuring a series of physical values, contemplating afterwards, "Why is it so consistent, how to explain it? I must figure it out, I must..."
Years later, fully armed soldiers burst into his wilderness lab outside the royal city, toppled his reagent bottles from his hand, and held a longsword to his neck, expressionlessly saying, "Second Prince, under His Majesty’s orders, we request you to go to a place, hoping you’ll cooperate."
Soon afterward, flames rose in the palace within the royal city, many lab assistants painstakingly nurtured fell under swords, screaming and blood flowing everywhere.
Six months later, he walked out of the prison, seeing long-lost sunlight and a renovated palace with new maids, personal guards, and personal guard captains.
He didn’t give up; he became even more invested in trying to understand the world’s truth and began finding ways to build personal forces. Not long after, the first "Kepberg" shop opened in the royal city, followed by the second, third...
Later on, the dungeon guard captain told him they captured a wizard. The wizard told him that outside the city, there was a fire snake...
He killed the fire snake, extracted the material containing Extraordinary Energy, opened the book called "Monroe Chapter," also opening the door to a new world... but due to talent, he couldn’t walk into it...
So, he started drug extraction, began lightning collection, began battery production... eventually, he walked through that door...
As he walked through, the old King closed his eyes; under the dark weather, as soon as the funeral ended, soldiers surrounded his palace, and the personal guard captain stealthily drew a longsword behind him...
He raised his hand, the personal guard captain’s neck was twisted, the coming arrows halted in midair, flames began burning on the New Emperor’s body, and a giant dragon descended from the sky...
He departed riding the dragon, left the Blue Lion Kingdom, met the Dragon Girl in the forest, continued his research while watching her wielding tree trunks amidst the Beast Tide...
After the Beast Tide, the Black Robed Wizard arrived. The dragon died, and the Black Robed Wizard was buried in the mountains. He left the forest with the Dragon Girl and went to the Jade Kingdom.
In the Jade Kingdom, through research, he established the initial research theory—Superheavy Nuclear Stability Island Element Theory, then boarded a transoceanic ship, and arrived at the East Coast of the Main Continent, at White Stone Tower.
He continued researching, and during his research inaugurated the first Black Spirit King’s Treasure, getting in touch with an organization—Truth Society, or also known as the Supreme Order Divine Society.
Afterward, he destroyed the Truth Society division; carrying the Black Spirit King’s treasure, he proceeded north of the East Coast, with a meteor strike destroying White Stone Tower behind him.
Upon reaching the north, due to research reasons, he had more interactions with the Truth Society, ultimately having to take action in a battle, leading to his victory and the annihilation of the Truth Society.
Considering the East Coast chaos, he left the East Coast post-battle and reached the Main Continent, where he encountered a larger-scale Truth Society, and then... decisively joined.
Joining was for better research, and research was for better departure. When the first atomic bomb, crafted by his own hands, detonated on a volcano, a town called Pompeii disappeared, and he departed Pompeii.
Leaving Pompeii, reaching Farro, he continued his research, and incidentally helped the Main Continent’s largest nation—the Soma Alliance win a national war.
Post-war, Soma Alliance Emperor’s mysterious death led to gradual mainland chaos. He promptly retreated and proceeded to the bestowed territory—Shalin, beginning silent development and research.
Three years later, he unveiled many achievements, during demonstration, casually killed the Soma Alliance New Emperor, and... initiated the world’s New Era.
After the New Era, until now, there was almost no one who could impede his research, and his exploration of the ultimate truth was just a step away.
So... does he regret it?
Walking this path to this point, and continuing onward, would he regret it?
The answer is... of course not—absolutely not.
From the very beginning, it was for reaching this point, reaching the end of this path.
Today, no one can stop him, and he won’t allow anyone to stand in his way.
"Whew—"
Richard exhaled, gazing at the Silver Priest Rachel before him.
