Chapter 1464: Chapter 1462: Green Source Castle

Osheimar walked in, glanced at Sith, and said expressionlessly: "Mr. Sith, I heard your voice in the corridor. It seems you have many objections to the attack we launched earlier."

"I..." Sith lowered his head and whispered, "I dare not, Mr. Osheimar. I’m just a bit puzzled, thinking we shouldn’t have caused no harm to the enemy at all, this... this doesn’t align with our Black Sun Castle’s purpose."

"Purpose?" Osheimar laughed, but his face became more serious, "I have to ask you then, what do you think our Black Sun Castle’s purpose is? You think our Black Sun Castle was created solely for killing, right?"

"This..." Sith was at a loss for words.

Osheimar squinted his eyes: "Can’t answer? Well then, let me tell you, Mr. Sith. We, as one of the most powerful and mysterious advanced forces in Shalin, are called Black Sun Castle and not Destruction Castle, it indicates we do not exist for the sake of destruction.

We indeed possess the ability to destroy everything, but that is merely a means, not the meaning. If we were to destroy everything, should we remain here underground forever? If we were to kill everyone, where would we find new members for replenishment?"

Sith opened his mouth: "But... Lord Osheimar, after all, we are meant to deal with the enemy, shouldn’t we show no mercy? Isn’t war supposed to be cruel?"

Osheimar stared at Sith for several seconds, raising his eyebrows: "Who told you that war should be cruel? Do you know what the essence of war is? Let me tell you, the essence of war is a negotiation, a communication, a measure taken to achieve some objective.

Do not wage war for the sake of war, do not destroy for the sake of destruction, that would be meaningless.

There is a saying, there are three types of people in this world. The first kind are ordinary people for whom war is a disaster, and facing war they only think about the present. So no matter how hard they try, they just barely survive the war, and the outcome after the war isn’t good.

The second kind are smart people for whom war is an opportunity, although they are amidst war, they have considered the development after the war ends. So, they take advantage of war to do something beneficial for themselves, and after the war ends, they receive huge rewards.

The third kind are the wise people for whom war is a path. Even before war starts, they have considered the situation after the war. They actively push for the war to happen, they guide the direction of the war, they win the war, or intentionally make themselves fail. No matter what, after the war, they obtain everything they want."

Pausing for a moment, Osheimar directly asked Sith: "Mr. Sith, which type of person do you think you are? And Lord Richard, who ordered our attack, what type of person is he?"

"I..."

"Think carefully." Osheimar patted Sith’s shoulder, "This will benefit you. Recognizing your position allows you to work better. Remember, Black Sun Castle’s position in Shalin is indeed high, but it’s not the highest, and it’s not the only core, so never overestimate yourself. Also, remember, don’t shout randomly, you know, I dislike that. Black Sun Castle’s duration isn’t short, but it’s not long either, no member has been expelled till now, I don’t want you to be the first."

Patting Sith’s shoulder again, Osheimar walked out without looking back, leaving the dazed Sith behind.

Osheimar walked out the door, didn’t stop, and followed the corridor towards the exit.

A person approached—it was another advanced member of Black Sun Castle—Han Kaoke von Neumann.

Von Neumann looked oddly at Osheimar and asked, "Where are you headed?"

"Another castle." Osheimar replied softly, his gaze intense, "Summoned by Lord Richard."

Von Neumann raised his eyebrows at this, realizing something, his expression turned serious, he opened his mouth and said, "Then good luck."

"Hope so." Osheimar responded and then passed by Von Neumann, leaving Black Sun Castle.

...

Another area in Shalin Underground.

Here stands a gigantic base, larger in scale than Black Sun Castle, its name is... Green Source Castle.

Green Source Castle is of the same level as Black Sun Castle, but it’s more mysterious, maybe many know of Green Source Castle’s existence, but they completely don’t understand what Green Source Castle is researching—most members in Green Source Castle aren’t clear about the significance of their daily instructions.

Green Source Castle, entrance to the underground base.

"Click, click, click!"

The sound of gears turning echoed, the heavy Magic Rune Metal Door rose, and Richard entered from outside. Following Richard were many people, all Wizards with numerous academic achievements in Shalin, like Osheimar, like Emerson, etc.

It can be said that more than half of Shalin’s advanced research talents are gathered here.

Inside the door, someone waited—a bald middle-aged man.

Seeing Richard enter with so many people, he quickly walked up to him, about to greet him.

Richard raised his hand, directly saying: "Mr. Neo Hervier, don’t waste time, there’s a lot to do, give me the latest situation here directly."

"Sure." Neo Hervier didn’t dawdle, "Then follow me to the archive room, there’s detailed data there."

"Alright." Richard nodded, led the group, and followed Hervier down the corridor.

Walking for dozens of meters, they saw both sides of the corridor lined with sturdy glass walls, behind them were large rooms with strange sights.

For instance, the room behind the first glass wall on the left, clearly underground, was filled with lush green trees, with purple vines and blue flowers occupying large areas.

And the room behind the first glass wall on the right, it was a flat ground, densely packed with neat light yellow seedlings sprouting from the dark black soil, nobody knew what kind of plants they were.

In the second room on the left, lay an orange fruit resembling a pumpkin in the center, appearing mundane, the only issue was its size, thousands of times bigger than a regular pumpkin, like a small mountain.

In the second room on the right, a purple tree filled the entire space, bunches of grape-like fruits hung from the branches, occasionally dropping on the ground, rolling everywhere.

The third room on the left, the third room on the right...

The group couldn’t spare time to look closely, quickly passed by, reaching the corridor’s end at the archive room.

Hervier took out a document from a cabinet and handed it to Richard for review.

After a while, estimating Richard had glanced through it, Hervier spoke, "Lord Richard, as you saw and what the documents showed, currently the work in Green Source Castle is 99.9% complete, incredibly close to success. The only problem is figuring out which of the many paths ahead is the best. With good luck, it might conclude in the next hour, if luck is bad, it might take months or years."

Richard put down the document, looked at Hervier, and frowned: "Since long ago, I’ve given huge support to Green Source Castle, solved problems for you, helped you overcome bottlenecks. Now it’s time to utilize you, I hope for timely effects, not praying for the Luck Goddess’s favor."

"But, it’s really hard to say." Hervier showed difficulty, "There are too many choices in front and too few people to help me, manpower is severely lacking..."

"No need to worry about personnel anymore, I’m here today precisely to solve this issue." Richard said, "Look at these people behind me, they are all the advanced academic Wizards that Shalin can temporarily mobilize, and I’m handing them to you, they can fully assist your work.

Moreover, for whatever other difficulties, tell me, and I’ll resolve them for you. All of Shalin’s resources can be provided to you unlimitedly, my one request is to complete what should have been done three months ago in the shortest time possible. Can you do that, Mr. Hervier?"

At the end, Richard stared at Hervier.

Hervier opened his mouth, didn’t reply directly, but thought for a bit, raising a question: "Lord Richard, accelerating the experiment carries risks, I want to know what is the maximum loss you can tolerate."

"All." Richard remained unchanged in expression, "I said, all of Shalin’s resources can be provided to you unlimitedly, as long as Shalin exists, as long as you wish, you can undertake any experimental measures, I only want the final successful result." 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖

"Then I understand." Hervier nodded and said solemnly, "Three days, give me a maximum of three more days. I don’t want to say harsh words, but after three days Lord Richard, you will either see the successful result or my dead body."

"I hope it’s the former."

"I hope so too."

"Then goodbye, Mr. Hervier."

"Goodbye, Lord Richard."

Richard turned to leave, leaving the group of people who came with him to Hervier.

"Get to work, everyone!"

Richard heard Hervier shout from behind.
