Michael's impression of Spartan was that it was very steady. Other than Jester, it was the only other undead that could pass as human.

However, compared to Jester it was not particularly flexible. Though it could be ruthless, it lacked Jester's extreme mindset, but what it had instead was stability. Perhaps even rigidity.

When Michael had said that the empire's subjects would live if they surrendered, Jester hearing that might either comply as told or find a way to twist the words around if he had his own ideas. That way he would technically not disobey his master's words while potentially gaining more benefits for himself or his master.

Of course this depended on whether Jester had any other thoughts in the first place. As a bloodthirsty creature, there was a high chance he would simply kill before they had the chance to surrender.

But this also went to show one of Jester's greatest strengths. His flexibility.

Spartan was not quite like that. He was flexible, but not to Jester's degree. Since his master had said that if they did not surrender they would die, then they had to die. Even if Spartan had its own thoughts, its master's words were ironclad.

After seeing the effect of Spartan's attack, many of the empire's subjects were visibly shaken.

Unfortunately, while there were many who did not want a fight to the death, there were also many who were serious about fulfilling the emperor's will. With the surface advantage of their numbers and the pressure of their peers watching, no one surrendered. They immediately charged at Michael's undead legion.

Since the other party did not want to surrender, Michael's army did not hold back either.

The next moment, the sky above the capital erupted with the clashing attacks of hundreds of supernaturals.

Meanwhile, in the second layer of the void, the battle between several Rank 4 beings had begun.

Knowing the pain of losing multiple undead at once and understanding the full magnitude of this battle, Michael immediately had many of his weaker undead distance themselves from the fighting. He unsummoned the ones he could back to the netherworld.

If he had a bit more time he would have placed them inside the Damaged Coffin of the Forgotten, but even a second's delay against opponents of this caliber could put him in serious trouble.

Before both parties met, as was customary between beings of their status, all parties aside from Michael greeted each other with their domains in an attempt to draw the opposing party in.

As expected, the clashing domains cancelled each other out.

Based on the intensity each opponent gave off, each party chose a target of matching strength.

The two figures whose intensity approached the High Drake immediately went for it. Knowing the destructive potential of their combined attacks, all three distanced themselves from the others.

With the High Drake gone, it remained Lily, Beginning, the Rank 4 Demonic Supernatural, and Michael.

After the High Drake, the next figure giving off the strongest aura was the Demonic Supernatural. The emperor immediately took it on alone.

Lily and Beginning each found their own opponents as well.

Meanwhile, Michael was immediately targeted by the two Legendary beings with the weakest auras.

At first glance, the empire's division of opponents was quite flawless.

KRAAAABOOOM!!!

The instant the two weaker Legendary beings rushed toward Michael, the void itself split violently.

One was an old man cloaked in dark blue-black flames. Every movement he made caused the surrounding void to corrode and distort faintly, as though the fire itself could burn space apart. The second was a middle-aged woman dressed in deep azure robes. Terrifying waves surged around her body endlessly, transforming into enormous water dragons that swam freely through the void itself.

Their attacks arrived almost simultaneously.

The old man thrust his palm forward.

KRAAABOOM!!!

Dark flames erupted like a volcanic explosion.

At the same time, the woman waved her sleeve coldly. An enormous wave instantly swallowed the surroundings like a collapsing ocean.

Michael's eyes narrowed sharply.

Without hesitation, he reached into his storage space and a dark spear instantly appeared in his grasp. The weapon radiated terrifying energy as runes flickered continuously across its surface.

The next moment, Michael thrust the spear forward directly.

As long as the use of domains remained limited, even with almost half of his engraved creatures in their summoned state, Michael dared to fight. Even if a domain was deployed, they had to catch him first before they could think about killing him.

KRAAAAABOOOOM!!!

Black flames exploded across the void. The three attacks collided violently. The impact alone shattered the surrounding space repeatedly while enormous cracks spread throughout the void layer itself.

Michael was blasted backward immediately afterward. His body shot through the darkness like a meteor while violent force traveled up both his arms.

"So strong…"

Michael's expression became even more serious. These two might have been the weakest among the empire's Rank 4 existences, but they were still genuine Legendary beings.

The two opponents clearly had no intention of giving him breathing room. Both rushed after Michael instantly through the shattered void.

After personally testing their attacks with his own body, Michael actually felt a degree of confidence rather than fear. The pressure from the two Legendary beings was indeed terrifying, but not enough to crush him instantly.

As Michael shot backward through the void, he activated his law and immediately copied Beginning's trait. A ripple spread across his body as his skin turned slightly grey. The next moment, his aura changed drastically as strength surged through him.

CRACK.

Michael flexed his fingers around the dark spear.

Excitement appeared within Michael's eyes as he watched the two opponents close the distance.

There truly were not many opportunities to fight battles at this level. Ever since reaching his current strength, Michael had developed countless theories regarding how to use his abilities and Laws in combat. Unfortunately and fortunately at the same time, he rarely encountered enemies powerful enough to test those ideas properly.

But now, he finally could.

The thought had barely crossed his mind before the two opponents attacked again.

The old man suddenly spread both arms outward.
