Chapter 181: Ch-181: Blaze Brightlfame
"Where are all the guards? There is not a single soul here," Rina muttered as panic seized her mind.
"Miss Rina, calm down. Maybe they have abandoned this part of the border and are holding the line where the enemy is concentrated," Emily said with a frown looking at the abandoned border.
"I can sense a large number of life forces dwindling up ahead," Victor said all of a sudden.
"Let’s go then, quickly," Rina said anxiously upon hearing his words.
Victor nodded as everyone marched forward with the army of mechs.
Bang!
Boom!
The closer they got to the center of the Hall Duchy, the louder the explosions and sounds of battle became.
The first thing they noticed was that the ground was dyed crimson with blood, and it was still wet. There were headless corpses and severed limbs lying all across the battlefield.
In front of them, a massacre was unfolding. Knights wearing vermilion armor with the sigil of a red flame on their chests were clashing with knights wearing yellow armor.
"Brightflame Duchy."
Rina’s eyes turned bloodshot as she looked hatefully at the knights clad in vermilion armor.
"Miss, look at that."
Emily’s eyes narrowed as she pointed at a young man who was sipping wine and looking smugly at the massacre while several beautiful women wearing revealing clothes massaged his shoulders.
"Heir Blaze Brightflame."
If Rina’s gaze could kill, he would have died a thousand times already.
"Huh?"
Blaze was watching the slaughter and already imagining the Brightflame Duchy swallowing the Hall Duchy.
The most excitement he felt came from thinking about Rina and how he would make her his. ’That bitch... I’m going to pin her down and listen to her pretty little whimpers while I play with her.’
Blaze licked his lips lecherously, and his imagination was suddenly interrupted when a soldier’s voice brought him out of his fantasy.
"Heavens, what the hell are those?!" screamed a soldier.
"Why the fuck are you shouting?" Blaze said in annoyance as he looked at the soldier, who was sweating buckets, and followed his gaze. His pupils immediately constricted.
"What the hell are those iron beasts...?"
Blaze’s eyes almost popped out of their sockets when he saw the endless wave of mechs. Then his eyes narrowed at a certain figure, and he exclaimed,
"And isn’t that Rina...? Did she bring reinforcements?"
Woosh! Woosh!
Hundreds of light swords descended from the sky, piercing the Brightflame Duchy soldiers who were occupied with fighting the knights belonging to the Hall Duchy.
The soldiers belonging to the Hall Duchy were stunned at first, and then they looked into the distance. Their eyes lit up when they saw Rina among the newly arrived army and they immediately made a conclusion which was not difficult to make.
"It’s Miss Rina, she has returned!"
"Yeah, looks like she has brought reinforcements."
"I heard some rumors that she had gone to acquire some new kind of weapons. Are these steel soldiers the weapons?"
"From the looks of it, it seems so, as I can see humans inside the giant steel knights."
"BLAZE BRIGHTFLAME, YOU DARE!"
Rina’s scream, full of fury, echoed across the battlefield.
"Fuck!"
Blaze’s expression changed when he saw a light sword charging toward him. He hurriedly grabbed a woman and shoved her into the sword’s path. The woman’s eyes widened in disbelief as she was cleaved in half.
Seeing this scene, he almost pissed himself as he had never felt so close to death. He was a spoiled noble brat who had never fought a battle in his life and only knew how to command others to do his bidding.
Blaze’s face flushed as he could feel the mocking glances thrown in his direction.
"Damn, bitch, you are so underhanded! You sneak-attacked me!" Blaze shouted, glaring at Rina.
"Heh, a weak spoiled brat who can only hide behind the skirts of women."
Even though she was angry and anxious, Rina could not help but mock him, as she had always resented him the most for trying to force her to marry him. At first, she merely disliked him, but now, thanks to the invasion, she completely hated him.
"Blaze, you bastard, where are my father and sister?" Rina shouted.
Hearing her words, a malicious smile appeared on his face as he said, "Heh, them? Probably dead. Just a few minutes ago, the undead leader and my father landed a fatal blow on him and forced him to retreat. They should have retreated inside by now."
"What?!"
Rina’s and Emily’s expressions changed immediately, and their faces turned pale.
Blaze further provoked them.
"Once he dies, we will enslave the entire Hall Duchy, and maybe I will take you and your sister as my personal pleasure slaves. Maybe after I am done, I will let all the soldiers have fun with you as well."
Hearing this, the knights of the Brightflame Duchy started to leer at Rina.
"Hah, thank you, Young Lord."
"We did not know our fortune would be so good that we would be able to taste such an exquisite woman in our lifetime."
"Haha, boys, give 200% effort for our Young Lord!"
On the other hand, the Hall Duchy soldiers were completely furious when they heard those words and shouted,
"Damn bastards, how dare you spit such filth from your mouths!"
"Even if we die today, we will take you down with us. We will never let you touch Lady Rina!"
"Yeah, don’t forget Duke Hall is only injured. Just wait and see what happens when he recovers!"
Rumble! Rumble!
Suddenly, the sound of lightning rang out across the battlefield, and large serpents made of black lightning charged toward the Brightflame soldiers.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Multiple explosions rang out, and the noisiest group of soldiers were instantly killed by the sudden attack.
Everyone’s eyes turned toward the attacker and saw black lightning crackling over his raised palm. He then said with an irritated and bored expression,
"You insects are too loud."
