Chapter 555: True Form Facing the Human Emperor
As soon as Liora stepped out of the dark void, the entire Human Shrine began to tremble.
Having lost its World Core, which previously served as its source of power, this sacred place could no longer sustain its existence.
The statues containing the inheritances of thousands of human ancestors began to crack.
A violent tremor rushed through the demi-plane, shaking the Human Temple members to the core.
Even the youths who had been brought here to obtain inheritances were jolted awake from their trials.
As they looked at the crumbling space around them and the spatial cracks threatening to swallow them whole, they were all stunned.
The Human Temple members forced into hiding were at most Rank 6. The destruction of the Human Shrine was a life-and-death disaster for them.
Panic spread. The quickest thinkers among them immediately tried to escape.
Unfortunately, with the only remaining Elder missing and this place collapsing, there was no way to escape from the demi-plane.
They had been trapped!
Despair instantly filled the members’ hearts.
Watching this scene, Liora remained utterly calm.
Her gaze briefly swept over the Human Temple members before she casually waved her hand.
A gust of wind emerged. It enveloped everyone within the Human Shrine, sweeping them away in a fluid motion.
Not only from this place, but from the Human Temple’s demi-plane as a whole.
Within moments, everyone had been sent back to the Blood Forest Realm, scattered across the continent.
Only Liora remained amidst the rapidly shattering space.
After a brief pause of contemplation, she raised her hand and punched forward. The Cosmic Sea inside her body seemed to follow her movements, the cosmic dust gathering into her fist.
An overwhelming power arose as dark light erupted from her hand and engulfed the entire Human Shrine.
Then, it spread further into the outer demi-plane.
A deafening crash echoed throughout the Blood Forest Realm, as though a part of it had been ripped off.
The Human Shrine and the Human Temple’s demi-plane, which had been personally created by the Human Emperor and had existed for tens of thousands of years, shattered!
With their destruction, Liora was also forced to return to the "real" world.
She stared at the giant hole in space before her, within which fragments of the two demi-planes could be seen drifting chaotically.
Then, she calmly stretched her hand into the gap.
Bluish mist emerged from her palm and transformed into thin threads, which shot toward the fragments.
Just as the tentacles had previously done to the World Core, the threads now wrapped around the remnants of the demi-planes and devoured them.
The whole process was almost instantaneous.
One moment, the remains of worlds existed; the next, they had vanished completely.
Even the tear in space had mended itself.
As a result, the fragments of those worlds had been transferred within the Cosmic Sea.
The cosmic dust—a representation of the Predation talent—washed over them, grinding them down to their purest form and absorbing their power.
Liora nodded in satisfaction.
It seemed that although her bloodline had changed, her nature as a World Devourer had never truly disappeared.
At the very least, anyone who saw her devour the demi-planes in a matter of moments would surely mistake her for one.
No. In fact, Liora’s ability to devour other things, including worlds, had become even stronger than it had been when she was a World Devourer following the Cosmic Sea’s creation.
Even so, she didn’t have time to dwell on these thoughts.
Her eyes narrowed.
She sensed two overwhelming auras rapidly approaching this place, dripping with bloodlust and hatred toward her.
The previous chase had lasted for quite some time.
Yet from the moment the Elder noticed the change in the Human Shrine to the moment of her return, only a few moments had gone by.
Before long, Liora faced this enemy of hers once again—this time in person rather than as a clone.
The solemn appearance the Elder had always worn had vanished. Her calm eyes were now filled with fury and bloodthirst.
Countless wailing souls danced around her figure, as though she were a Devil that had just crawled out from the River of Oblivion.
Clearly, arriving here so soon and sustaining the Human Emperor’s projection had not come without a cost.
The natives of the Blood Forest Realm had suffered greatly for the Elder to achieve this.
Liora couldn’t help but sigh. She shook her head as she looked at the Elder with faint pity.
"Is there a need to do all of this? Why do you have to involve unrelated people in our feud?"
"This... is not what the Human Emperor would want to see. You’re too bloodthirsty..."
Her words nearly sent the Elder into a frenzy.
If anyone else had said this, she might not have reacted so strongly and might have even felt some guilt toward her actions.
But how could Liora, who had brought countless amounts of pain and sorrow to the Blood Forest Realm, dare say such a thing?
For a moment, the Elder wanted nothing more than to lunge at her and tear her apart with her own two hands.
However, she quickly suppressed that impulse.
She said nothing, choosing to let her actions speak rather than her words.
After taking a deeper look at Liora, she waved the scepter in her hand.
The Human Emperor Projection, which had remained silent and motionless all this time, finally moved.
He calmly raised his sword once more before bringing it down in a slash toward Liora.
The same high-level force as before accompanied his blow.
Though the two were far apart, Liora could sense that the strike had locked onto her figure, making it impossible for her to evade.
Despite the Blood Clone’s chase, the Human Emperor’s power had not weakened in the slightest. If anything, the force behind his attacks had grown significantly stronger.
Liora didn’t believe this was unrelated to the wailing souls around the Elder.
Even so, now was not the time to think about it.
Looking at the sword light tear through time and space to arrive before her, she maintained a calm expression.
She did not use Snake of Time to bypass the locking restriction and escape, but instead casually raised her hand.
Her palm faced the incoming light, as though she intended to meet the Rank 11 attack head-on.
The next moment, the two powers—a Rank 11 sword slash and an outstretched palm—collided violently.
