Chapter 494: Chapter 494: The End of Silence
Aiden narrowed his eyes and stared straight at the massive Primordial Pillar.
"Why should anger be controlled?"
Aiden gave a cold laugh. In the dead silence of the void, his voice sounded especially sharp.
"If injustice exists, anger will never die."
"Those who try to control anger are nothing but cowards lying to themselves."
The will of the Primordial Pillar fell silent for a moment.
"For countless years, gods, Demon Gods, and countless beings who called themselves powerful came here."
"They saw me as a disaster. They used all kinds of laws to seal me. They used so-called reason to enslave me."
"They wanted to control anger, to make anger obey their Strength."
"But they were wrong."
"Anger was never a tool."
"Anger is the only right response living beings can have when the world is unjust."
Hearing this, Aiden raised his brow slightly.
"Then what exactly are you?"
Aiden’s voice was not loud, but it carried the unique authority of a god, cutting straight to the heart of the matter.
The grand voice sounded again, carrying a trace of sorrow that had crossed thousands of years.
"I am the consciousness born when Earth first felt injustice."
"When the ancient invaders descended, trying to destroy our home and slaughter our people..."
"That strong feeling of ’this should not be’ and ’this is unjust’ gathered together, and from it, I was born."
"I am the first flame of resistance on this planet."
Aiden’s body shook hard.
It was as if thunder had flashed through his mind.
So that was it.
The true nature of anger was not destruction, nor was it cruelty.
It was Earth’s will resisting injustice!
"Without anger, there is no drive to say, ’This is wrong. It must change.’"
Aiden murmured in a low voice. An unprecedented bright light burst from his double-pupiled eyes.
"Anger is the starting point of justice!"
At that moment, the divine core deep within Aiden’s Inner Spirit began to spin wildly.
He finally understood.
If anger was blindly suppressed, people would become cold. They would turn a blind eye to the injustice in the world, and in the end, become numb machines.
But if anger was allowed to destroy everything, then they would be nothing more than beasts enslaved by emotion.
"The way to guide anger was never to suppress it."
Aiden’s voice echoed through the void, and the laws of a god erupted with a roar.
"It is to let it flow into action."
"To turn anger toward injustice into the Strength to change injustice!"
Rumble!
The moment Aiden said those words, the entire Pillar of Anger erupted with towering dark red light.
That light carried no killing force at all. Instead, it was filled with pure approval.
Piece after piece of dark red law fragments gathered in the void, then rushed madly into Aiden’s body.
[Ding! You have gained the approval of the Pillar of Anger!]
[Your understanding of the laws has increased!]
[Current law comprehension: 38%... 39%... 40%... 42%!]
It had increased by a full four percent!
One had to know that at the level of a lesser god, every single point of law comprehension brought a huge change in power.
Aiden could feel that within his Law of Thunder, a fierce and unstoppable will to resist had already been added.
Buzz.
A crystal about the size of a fist, burning all over with dark red flames, slowly floated out from the Pillar of Anger and landed in Aiden’s palm.
The third Recognition Crystal!
The moment his hand touched the crystal, a sharp burning pain shot through him.
Aiden did not frown.
This real pain made him feel strangely grounded. It reminded him at every moment that he was still alive, and that he still had the Strength to change all of this.
Aiden flipped his hand and put the crystal into his backpack.
At this point, among the Primordial Seven Pillars, he had already gained the recognition of three divine pillars.
Only the four pillars of Greed, Sloth, Lust, and Gluttony had yet to be touched.
"Let’s go. Back to Celestial Imperial City."
Aiden turned around. His black clothes fluttered as he withdrew his divine pressure.
The void split open slightly, and a teleportation passage leading back to Earth slowly opened before everyone.
The Earth Dragon elites all let out a breath. They looked at Aiden with awe and burning admiration, then followed him into the passage.
But on the way back, Faye seemed unusually silent.
She did not turn into her small girl form and throw herself into Aiden’s arms like usual. Instead, she kept her half-human, half-dragon form and quietly walked beside him.
"What’s wrong, Faye?"
Aiden turned his head and looked at the Dragon Clan queen, who seemed lost in thought.
Faye bit her lower lip, her dragon eyes shifting uncertainly.
"My Lord..."
Faye’s voice was very soft, almost fading into the strong wind inside the passage.
"Do you know what I was doing just now in the Burning Abyss?"
Aiden did not speak. He only listened quietly.
"I was standing beside you, watching you."
Faye stopped walking. A complicated light flickered in her golden dragon eyes.
"I watched how you faced your anger, and how you dealt with it."
"Actually... I have anger too."
Faye clenched her fists slightly, her nails digging deep into her palms.
"My father was killed in one strike because he resisted the Heavenly Demons’ slavery."
"My people were treated as mounts and toys, then driven out of the upper levels of the Abyss."
"Every moment, I want to tear those Heavenly Demons to pieces. Every moment, I want to destroy the entire Abyss!"
"But I always thought that, as the queen of the Dragon Clan, I had to stay calm. I had to be rational. I couldn’t show any anger or weakness in front of my people..."
Faye raised her head. Faint tears shone in her eyes.
"Was I... wrong?"
Looking at the Dragon Clan girl before him, who carried the fate of her entire race on her shoulders, Aiden felt a trace of softness in his heart.
He reached out and gently rubbed Faye’s smooth golden hair.
"You weren’t wrong, Faye."
Aiden’s voice was gentle, but firm beyond doubt.
"Anger is reasonable."
"If you no longer feel anger toward your enemies, then the Dragon Clan truly has no hope left."
"It is because we are angry that we are standing here now."
"We will turn that anger into a sharp blade that tears the Heavenly Demons apart."
Faye’s delicate body trembled slightly.
She lowered her head. Her loose golden hair covered her cheeks, hiding her expression.
She did not speak again.
But where Aiden could not see, the proud eyes of the Dragon Clan queen quietly turned red.
...
Celestial Imperial City, private chamber.
Aiden sat cross-legged. Purple-gold thunder and dark red flames wrapped around his body, twisting together and burning the surrounding space until it warped again and again.
After three days of rest, he had fully absorbed and understood the Law of Anger he had gained in the Burning Abyss.
Buzz!
As the last ripple of law energy faded, the aura inside Aiden’s body finally stabilized at the middle stage of lesser god.
[Personal panel: Law comprehension 42% (stable).]
Not only that, but under the push of divine power, the Law of Thunder and the Law of Space inside him began to faintly resonate with each other.
Crackle.
Inside the private chamber, thunder tore open spiderweb-like cracks in the void, only for the Law of Space to smooth them out in an instant.
[Ding! Law compatibility detected. Your "Space-Thunder Resonance" has risen to: beginner stable state.]
Aiden opened his eyes, and a look of satisfaction flashed through his double-pupiled eyes.
The current him now had the strength to fight even an Intermediate god.
However, this peace did not last long.
Just as Aiden was about to stand up, the space above his desk suddenly collapsed without warning.
There was no energy fluctuation, and no sign before it happened.
A pitch-black hole, only the size of a coin, appeared out of nowhere. Then, a white letter slowly floated out of it.
Tap.
The letter landed steadily on the mahogany desk.
Aiden’s pupils suddenly shrank to the size of pinpoints.
He shot to his feet. With a grip of his right hand, purple-gold thunder instantly formed into a blade of lightning. He stared hard at that part of the void.
But the black hole had already disappeared, and the space was back to normal.
"How is this possible..."
A storm rose in Aiden’s heart.
He was a god who had mastered the Law of Space, and he was inside the core of Celestial Imperial City’s defensive formation.
Yet just now, he had not sensed even the slightest trace of that spatial movement in advance.
"This isn’t ordinary spatial teleportation."
Aiden took a deep breath, his eyes filled with deep caution.
"This is the result of folding an entire space over itself again and again, then placing something at a fixed point... This level of law control is beyond a Supreme God!"
Was there really such a terrifying being still hidden on Earth?
Aiden turned his gaze to the letter on the desk.
There were no words on the envelope, but it gave off a detached aura, as if it stood above all living beings.
He flicked his finger, and a thread of the Law of Thunder turned into a fine needle. Very carefully, it opened the envelope.
There was no trap.
Inside, there was only an ordinary sheet of white paper.
When Aiden unfolded the paper, a line of words written in black ink instantly entered his sight.
The handwriting was sharp and powerful, carrying an indescribable sense of dominance and coldness.
[Aiden, I know you are coming into contact with the Seven Pillars.]
[I look forward to the day when you gain the recognition of all Seven Pillars.]
[I will wait for you at the end. But before that, there is something you should know first:]
[Your system has already begun to eat you.]
[Signed: Dawn Society Leader, Leon.]
Boom!
Looking at the last line, Aiden felt as if billions of bolts of thunder had exploded inside his mind at the same time.
"The system... is eating me?"
Aiden’s breathing became extremely heavy in that instant.
His deepest secret, his planet-level cheat ability, had actually been exposed in one sentence by this Dawn Society leader who called himself "Leon"!
"Breathe..."
Aiden forced down the shock in his heart and made himself calm down.
He closed his eyes, and his Inner Spirit Strength instantly sank into the deepest part of his mind.
"System, check your current state," Aiden said silently in his heart.
