Chapter 27: Chapter 21: Stirring Things Up
They were having a blast tonight. The group of friends was already unfiltered in their private, flirty chats, and since they didn’t consider Su Ran an outsider, they went completely off the rails and changed the direction of the conversation.
Liu Jinyu’s face instantly flushed crimson. ’My whole body feels weird,’ she thought. ’Am I really going to have to sacrifice myself for a shirt?’
She pointed a finger at the three of them, her expression adorably fierce as she let loose in her Chongqing dialect.
"Are you three silly girls in heat or something tonight? Stop trying to stir things up!"
After her warning, she turned her head, biting her lower lip as she glared at Su Ran. She didn’t say a word, but her eyes clearly conveyed her thoughts: ’Su Ran, you dare to have your eyes on me now?’
Honestly, this compliant version of Liu Jinyu was quite nice.
As for what she was really thinking... she probably did want to have a passionate, whirlwind romance with Su Ran. After all, a guy like him was a true treasure.
But being his girlfriend would come with a lot of pressure. It would be like leveling up in a video game; you’d have to constantly be on guard against other pretty girls trying to snatch him away.
Most importantly, dating Su Ran would probably be very sweet, but... his Zen-like personality, his immense wealth, his incredible talent, his stunning looks—he was basically a walking collection of buffs. With a guy like that, you could never have the upper hand.
So, Liu Jinyu tried her best to stay clear-headed, telling herself, ’Su Ran is toxic. Use with caution.’ She couldn’t be the first one to fall for him. If she did, it would be game over.
However... right now, Liu Jinyu still wanted to make a small gesture.
She walked forward, stood on her tiptoes, and once again planted a fleeting kiss on Su Ran’s cheek. Then, she leaned in close to his ear and whispered shyly, "Su Ran, do you really want it?"
The evening breeze ruffled her hair, carrying her natural scent to Su Ran’s nose. It was very pleasant.
Scientific studies have shown that if you can still smell a woman’s scent even when she isn’t wearing perfume, it means your genes have chosen her.
Su Ran once again reached out and tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear. A tingling sensation ran through Jinyu. Outside TAXX Bar, onlookers watched the girl standing in front of the Rolls-Royce Phantom with envy, wondering which wealthy family this mysterious young man belonged to.
Spurred on by the midnight alcohol, it was the peak time for adrenaline to trigger dopamine and produce hormones. This wasn’t a time for thinking with your brain, but a time for acting on impulse.
Su Ran decided to use a little strategy.
But was Su Ran the kind of young man to use dirty tricks?
If he really used dirty tricks, who knows how many girls he would have bedded back at Boss Li’s bar in Ninghai.
Su Ran wasn’t a casual person. To be precise, even before he became a Divine Rich, he had already developed a "divinity"—his standards were terrifyingly high. He truly had no interest in an average beauty; he was definitely not the type to pounce on any woman he saw.
Use the best.
Play with the most expensive.
With a composite score of 95, Liu Jinyu completely met Su Ran’s standards.
However, he didn’t plan on taking things all the way with Liu Jinyu tonight.
The reason was simple: Liu Jinyu was too good to him. If they didn’t become a couple, they probably couldn’t even be friends anymore.
A single night of pleasure, or lasting satisfaction.
Su Ran chose the latter.
Su Ran smiled and explained, "Wanting it is one thing, but we’re not at that stage yet. Don’t let your imagination run wild. I’m not that kind of person."
Liu Jinyu breathed a sigh of relief. Her question had actually been a test. Girls constantly test guys they have feelings for to see if they meet their standards for a partner. Clearly, Su Ran passed with flying colors.
"That’s good, then." Liu Jinyu reached out and patted Su Ran’s cheek. "Such a good boy. Now, get in the car and go back to sleep. I’ll bring your shirt back to you tomorrow."
"You don’t have to. It looks good on you as a nightgown. It’s yours."
Liu Jinyu bit her lip, her pretty face blushing slightly.
"Alright, then I’ll wear it as a nightgown. Bye-bye, I’m off. Don’t want to get stuck in traffic."
Liu Jinyu turned and got back into her car. She waved to her friends, and after watching them leave, she also got into the other Phantom to head back to the hotel.
Su Ran had drunk quite a bit, and the alcohol was starting to hit him. He returned to the presidential suite at the hotel, took a shower, and collapsed onto the comfortable king-sized bed, falling asleep.
「Room 404.」
Xiao Wanqing was removing her makeup, one leg crossed over the other.
Xie Yiren sat on a chair, pulling off the white over-the-knee socks she wore under her pleated skirt.
Aina lay on her bed with a face mask on. Feeling a bit constricted, she reached into her collar, yanked out her bra, and tossed it aside.
Liu Jinyu came out after her shower, wearing the white shirt which just barely covered her thighs, and rubbing her wet hair with a towel.
The other three didn’t tease Liu Jinyu about Su Ran. After all, their interest in him hadn’t reached the point where they needed to gossip about him 24/7. Besides, teasing her in front of Su Ran was just to create an atmosphere, to play along and hype things up.
The squad had their own topics of conversation.
Afterward, they took their showers one by one, got into bed, turned off the lights, and went to sleep.
"Yiren~" Aina whimpered softly.
In the darkness, Xie Yiren let out a long sigh and lifted her blanket. "Come on, then!"
"Mmmhmm~"
Aina’s feet padded across the floor as she got out of her bed, climbed into Xie Yiren’s, and snuggled under the covers, resting her head on Yiren’s arm and hugging her soft body.
"Hubby... I still like sleeping in your arms best."
"Shut up and sleep."
"Mm."
The night passed without a word.
The next morning at seven, Su Ran’s internal alarm clock woke him up automatically.
In the past, Su Ran hadn’t exercised much because he was fighting for every second to prepare for the college entrance exams. He had to gamble on a good future.
Now that the exams were over, he needed a healthy body. Just as Xiao Wanqing had observed, Su Ran’s physique wasn’t actually very strong.
After getting up and washing up, he put on a pair of shorts and a T-shirt, ready to head down to the hotel gym.
On the way, he ran into Yasuo. Su Ran had a very good impression of him; he was an excellent personal butler.
"Yasuo, good morning."
"Good morning, Mr. Su. Did you sleep well last night?"
"Very well. The hotel bed is very comfortable, and your butler service is fantastic, Yasuo."
"Thank you for the praise, Mr. Su. Your superlative experience is the best affirmation of my work."
Yasuo was as gentlemanly and modest as ever. Perhaps this was the self-cultivation expected of a top-tier private butler like him.
As they walked into the gym, chatting, Yasuo asked, "What would you like for breakfast, Mr. Su? I can go and prepare it for you."
"You decide. Just get me some of the hotel’s more popular breakfast items."
"Of course. Does Mr. Su have any dietary restrictions?"
"I don’t eat cilantro."
"Understood."
"Wait..." Su Ran thought of something and called him back.
"Is there anything else, Mr. Su?"
"I’ll probably be staying for a few more days. Could you extend my stay by three days for now?"
As Su Ran said this, he started to pull out his card, but Yasuo stopped him. "Please, go ahead with your workout, Mr. Su. I’ve already asked the front desk to extend your stay. You can settle the payment anytime. I’ll go prepare your breakfast first."
Yasuo gave a gentlemanly bow, smiled, and left. He truly was a butler who had perfected his craft. As soon as he heard the client wanted to extend his stay, he didn’t wait for him to pull out a card. Instead, he used a pleasant excuse—’I’ve already extended it, work out first, pay later, I’ll go get breakfast’—to downplay the money and emphasize the workout and the meal.
A good hotel experience isn’t just about advanced and luxurious facilities, but about the staff. Details determine success or failure. Yasuo was the one who determined Su Ran’s superlative experience. If the service were poor, with so many other hotels in Shanghai, Su Ran naturally wouldn’t have extended his stay at the Maoyue.
While Su Ran was sweating on the treadmill, Yasuo returned with several bottles of mineral water.
Su Ran pressed the pause button, and Yasuo handed him a towel and a bottle of water.
"Hah~" Su Ran wiped his sweat, took a few gulps of water, and pointed toward the indoor tennis court. "Do you play tennis?"
"I pulled my back playing tennis last week."
"Oh, that’s a shame."
Walking onto the court, Yasuo handed him brand-new tennis balls and a racket.
Both of the main courts were currently occupied, so Su Ran went into the practice room.
With a powerful whoosh, he swung the racket, THWACKING the tennis ball. It flew out, hit the wall, and bounced back rapidly. Su Ran hit it again, and just like that, he started rallying against the wall.
During this time, a few Shanghai Socialites in sexy yoga pants came over with rackets, wanting to play tennis with Su Ran.
Su Ran gave Yasuo a look, and Yasuo, understanding perfectly, sent away these ’Socialites’ who frequented the Maoyue, hoping to land a rich man...
