Chapter 592: Chapter 281: Fabricating Lies (Part 2)

The crowd chimed in, everyone knowing well that they wanted to save some face for Ma Weidong and Qiu Shan.

"Thank you, uncles and seniors."

Jiang Feng retrieved the talisman paper.

He approached the table for inscribing talismans.

Staring at the wolf hair brush soaked in blood ink, Jiang Feng hesitated for a moment.

He couldn’t help but glance at Huang Li.

That girl had already set her sights on him, but judging by her current attitude, she likely hadn’t realized yet that they were mortal enemies. Once she awakened her memory and realized he had nearly killed her before, he wondered whether his identity as a First-Grade Talisman Master could protect him.

"You wouldn’t be unable to inscribe the talisman, would you?"

Seeing Jiang Feng not making a move, Ma Weidong exclaimed excitedly.

Jiang Feng closed his eyes in thought, ignoring the other. After some contemplation, he quickly picked up the wolf hair brush, the tip landing on the talisman paper, with a force like that of Heaven and Earth trying to lock his arm in place.

But Jiang Feng moved the wolf hair brush as if unhindered, gliding it across the talisman paper, and as he dragged the tip, flashes of blood-colored lightning appeared with a constant crackling sound.

This scene left Changyun with his mouth agape, and even Xiang Pangyun couldn’t help but stand up from his seat. Leaders seated nearby instinctively leaned in closer.

The greatest constraint in inscribing talismans is the obstruction by the rules of Heaven and Earth.

The higher the talisman level, the greater the resistance.

So when people saw flashes of blood-colored light and lightning sparks coming off the talisman paper under Jiang Feng’s brush, accompanied by crackling sounds, everyone realized that the talisman Jiang Feng was inscribing was no ordinary one.

Could it surpass First Grade?

"Impossible."

Ma Weidong, full of jealousy, shook his head repeatedly.

Qiu Shan held his breath. If Jiang Feng succeeded in inscribing a talisman of higher grade than Ma Weidong’s, then they would be the ones embarrassed today.

"Crack!"

The sound of resistance was unceasing.

Yet, the wolf hair brush in Jiang Feng’s hand moved smoothly from start to finish, with no hesitations.

By the time the wolf hair brush lifted from the talisman paper.

"Boom!"

Tiny arcs of electricity flowed through the text seal on the talisman.

Some wisps of smoke emerged from the talisman.

When Jiang Feng set the wolf hair brush down, the text seal on the talisman gave off a stable wave of spiritual power like a fine aged wine, which eventually settled in.

Everyone gathered around the table.

Watching the talisman take shape, they all sighed in relief after holding their breath.

Xiang Pangyun took the talisman into his hands eagerly.

Excitedly, he said, "A Rapid Movement Talisman, an exceptional one among First-Grade Talismans. If your cultivation advances a bit more, you’ll be able to inscribe a Second-Grade Talisman."

"Thank you for the compliment, Master Uncle. I will work hard."

Jiang Feng bowed.

"Hahaha, today is truly a joyous day; our Yagu Peak has gained two more Talisman Masters."

An elderly Talisman Master sincerely praised.

"Fellow uncles and seniors, compared to Ma Weidong’s talisman, what do you think of Junior Brother Jiang’s talisman in terms of strength?"

Qu Yiguang asked mockingly.

Seeing Jiang Feng complete the assessment, he felt very disappointed and jealous, but when he discovered Jiang Feng could inscribe near Second-Grade talismans, he felt somewhat relieved. He realized that Jiang Feng was hiding his cultivation and was already a Talisman Master before joining Cyan Cloud Sect.

Given his current achievements, it was likely that by the time he himself became a Talisman Master, Jiang Feng would have become a Second-Grade Talisman Master. The greater the gap, the more at peace one’s mind could be.

Recalling Ma Weidong’s earlier boastful attitude, he couldn’t help but stir up this topic.

"Uh..."

The crowd didn’t know how to respond.

They all saw Qiu Shan’s face turn liver-colored, looking quite unpleasant, and were wary of provoking him.

"I admit defeat!"

Ma Weidong bowed his head.

"But I am not convinced!"

Yet, just after he said it, he raised his head again.

"What do you find unconvincing? Why don’t you let Junior Brother Jiang have a go with you?"

Qu Yiguang mocked.

"I admit that Jiang Liu’er’s talent and strength surpass mine, but he hasn’t been in Cyan Cloud Sect long. This strength wasn’t cultivated by Uncle Changyun; my master produced a Talisman Master disciple before Uncle Changyun."

Ma Weidong countered.

"That’s right, everything Jiang Liu’er did earlier is unlike Cyan Cloud Sect’s talisman making techniques. He was already a Talisman Master before joining Cyan Cloud Sect; he wasn’t taught by my junior brother."

Qiu Shan’s eyes lit up, speaking excitedly.

"Jiang Liu’er, what do you call me?"

Changyun asked calmly with his hands behind his back.

"Master."

Jiang Feng replied without hesitation.

"Did you both hear that?"

Changyun looked towards the group.

"Once a teacher, forever a father. Do you not understand such a simple truth?"

Changyun added.

"Even if my junior brother had achieved something outside, he wouldn’t have followed my master back into Cyan Cloud Sect and entered my master’s tutelage if not for my master’s abilities."

Qu Yiguang concurred.

"He’s just an Outer Disciple, not yet a Direct Disciple of Uncle Changyun."

Qu Yiguang unwillingly stated.

"Now he is."

Changyun snorted coldly.

"Thank you, Master, for your support."

Jiang Feng kowtowed to Changyun. With Huang Li watching intently from the side, he desperately needed this identity. Regardless, Changyun is a Second-Grade Talisman Master. Now that he has become a Talisman Master of Yagu Peak, with Changyun backing him up, at least Changyun can help him block the issues coming from Qiu Shan’s side.

"Junior Brother, what do you think?"

Changyun asked Qiu Shan with a satisfied expression.

"You brat, dare to oppose me."

Qiu Shan, feeling furious, resorted to threatening Jiang Feng.

Jiang Feng felt a headache but had no options. He had to bear the grudge with Qiu Shan. Fortunately, Changyun and Qiu Shan, though mortal enemies, were only limited to petty jealousy. No matter what, they were both Talisman Masters of Yagu Peak.
