Chapter 544: Chapter 264: No Escape, So I Join In_2
The Saintess possessed the power of a Half-Step Foundation Establishment. If discovered by them, under their siege, Jiang Feng might not be able to escape unscathed.
Unless he draws the bow and nooses the arrow now, preemptively striking.
But doing so would also expose himself.
Therefore, Jiang Feng placed everything back in the cave and swiftly left the Saintess’s cave, finding another cave to hide in.
The Divine Sect’s old site had countless caves. The caves near the Saintess were where many of the management lived, and were covered by restriction arrays, not just anyone could easily enter.
But to Jiang Feng, those restriction arrays were nominal.
It was just for safety’s sake.
Jiang Feng did not hide in those mysterious caves that seemed untouched by the Blood Sea Immortal Venerable.
Jiang Feng worried that as a high-ranking member of the Divine Sect, the Saintess could easily break those restriction arrays. If she came back to retrieve something from those Elder’s caves, he would find himself face-to-face with them.
So it was better to hide in a cave where the restriction arrays had been destroyed, appearing to have no value anymore.
He knew the Qinglong Cauldron could break restriction arrays and conceal his aura. As long as he hid well, the Saintess and that handsome senior brother couldn’t discover him.
Unless the two walked into the cave he was in and detected his aura at close range, even that handsome senior brother would struggle to find him.

As for why Jiang Feng didn’t retreat first?
Because retreating would make much more noise than hiding.
Jiang Feng was full of dread towards that handsome senior brother, and would hide as he could, and confront them if he had to.
Of course, he was prepared for a fight with the two.
Not long after Jiang Feng hid, the Saintess brought the handsome senior brother to her former cave. Since it was her cave, she naturally unlocked the restriction arrays covering her cave with ease.
But upon unlocking the restriction arrays, she furrowed her brows, clearly feeling that the restriction arrays had been meddled with.
However, the Divine Sect had fallen for a hundred years.
This place had become a playground for demon beasts, maybe a Little Demon collided with the restriction arrays.
She didn’t think much of it.
Upon entering, a familiar aura, accompanied by a musty smell, hit her.
The Saintess took an ancient book Jiang Feng hadn’t touched from the second row of bookcases.
"Someone has been here."
She noticed signs of the book having been handled.
"Heaven and earth ebb and flow, Eight Desolates Soul Pursuit!"
She formed a technique, employing a Divine Sect magic to see who had visited.
Unfortunately, despite the good magic, Jiang Feng’s power far surpassed hers. How could a mere Half-Step Foundation Establishment cultivator detect Jiang Feng?
The result was futile.
"What’s wrong, junior sister?"

The handsome senior brother asked curiously.
"Someone has been here before us, someone strong. I couldn’t spot their traces."
The Saintess explained.
"Oh, let me try."
The handsome senior brother quickly formed a dharma seal, his eyes shrouded in golden light, scanning the cave thoroughly, but he only caught a shadow.
He couldn’t see who it was.
"Senior brother, did you see clearly?"
"Is it him?"
The Saintess took out a portrait, Jiang Feng’s portrait.
Over the years, she had forgotten many things but never forgot that Jiang Feng destroyed the Divine Sect, causing it such a plight.
"That...no, it was a somewhat capable Little Demon."
The handsome senior brother hesitated for a moment, shaking his head.
He only saw a shadow, unable to distinguish if it was human or demon. If it were Jiang Feng, the Saintess would indeed become very excited, urging him to find Jiang Feng. If he couldn’t do it, wouldn’t he lose face?
Considering the beast traces everywhere when they entered, the handsome senior brother pondered and believed it was most likely a Little Demon.
"Thank you, senior brother."
The Saintess felt a bit disappointed. At this moment, she saw a longsword hanging in the cave that she failed to take a hundred years ago. This sword was ordinary and was the first sword she used after entering the Divine Sect.
She took the sword from the wall, furrowing her brows again. This sword had also been tampered with. If it was a Little Demon, why leave behind the ancient books and secret manuals which were untouched on the bookshelf, but move the sword?
The books on the bookshelf might be useless to a Little Demon.
But this sword could be used for defense.

Yet, confirmed by the handsome senior brother, the Saintess refrained from suspecting further. She entered a secret room and retrieved a wooden box from which a bracelet emerged.
The bracelet wasn’t valuable, nor was it a magical artifact or treasure. It held special significance to the Saintess.
She returned to this place, not only to see how the Divine Sect had become but also to retrieve this bracelet and the ancient book already in her possession.
"Senior brother, let’s go!"
The Saintess secured the bracelet and ancient book.
"Hmm, we’ve been out for a while; we should return to see the master."
The handsome senior brother smiled slightly.
The pair exited the cave, and the Saintess glanced around, spotting several caves left by Elders nearby, including the ones left by Mo Changlin and Tian Suanzi, each obstructed by restriction arrays.
"Senior brother, wait for me a moment."
Hesitating slightly, the Saintess walked towards those caves.
Back then, Mo Changlin had ordered the Divine Sect disciples to evacuate and had high hopes for the Saintess, entrusting her with a Five Elements Treasure Map.
The Five Elements Treasure Map contained methods to unlock and close the Divine Sect Protection Array, even altering its operation. It also recorded the characteristics and decryption methods of restriction arrays within the Divine Sect.
