Chapter 533: Chapter 260: A Century of Scheming (Part 2)
Wu Weiwei was able to enter the Underground Palace and directly obtain the opportunity—this was certainly inseparable from the guidance of the Cyan Snake Demon clan.
He was very curious just how much the Little Cyan Snake had grown.
It dared not show itself directly, instead sending Wu Weiwei here—was it wary of him, or was there some other reason?
Two days later.
Jiang Feng followed Wu Weiwei through the Turkic lands, entering the Red Earth Forest, and arrived at a mountain valley shrouded in a Spiritual Array.
After Wu Weiwei entered,
the valley vanished before Jiang Feng’s eyes.
It was a Blinding Technique.
Jiang Feng carried the Qinglong Cauldron, locked onto the valley, and easily passed through the Spiritual Array, entering the valley within.
Inside, birds sang and flowers bloomed.
There were many kinds of snakes.
At the center of the valley, there stood a statue of a Big Cyan Snake, coiled up like a small mountain peak.
Jiang Feng recognized at a glance that this statue was the Cyan Snake King. Judging from the looks of it, this was the stronghold of the Cyan Snake Demon clan.
He recalled that the Cyan Snake King had died indirectly by his hand, and that the Little Cyan Snake had sworn a Blood-Burning Oath to stay away from the Great Tang. So many years had passed, and even though the oath’s constraints might still be in effect, it was hard to guarantee that the other snake kings of the Cyan Snake Demon clan didn’t harbor enmity towards him.
So Jiang Feng dared not act rashly. After carefully observing the outer edge of the valley, he quietly crept closer inside.
"Brother Xiao Qing, I’m back."
Wu Weiwei entered a cave within the valley.
Inside, a flash of cyan light; a figure spun like a whirlwind around Wu Weiwei a dozen times before returning to the throne deep within the cave.
It was a boy of about thirteen or fourteen years old.
The boy’s expression was icy-cold.
He wore a green robe trimmed with gold.
Wu Weiwei called him Brother Xiao Qing.
"According to your instructions, I’ve brought the item back."
Wu Weiwei handed him a piece of hide-paper stained red with blood.
The boy stretched out his hand, and the hide-paper flew automatically into his palm. Opening it up, he saw inside marks like little snakes writhing and twisting—even more exaggerated than the strange symbols on the Blood God Curse.
Wu Weiwei had cultivated here for a hundred years, and was intimately familiar with the history and inheritance of the Cyan Snake Demon clan. But the writhing snake marks on the hide-paper—she had never been able to decipher them.
She asked curiously, "Brother Xiao Qing, is this really the method of transformation for our Cyan Snake clan?"
"Mm."
The boy nodded slightly.
He did not detect any lingering aura of human experts on Wu Weiwei, so it seemed she hadn’t run into that person in the Dragon Capital. Perhaps that person had already left.
But he couldn’t help but ask, "Did you sense anything unusual in the Dragon Capital? Did the gem on you react at all?"
"No, not the slightest movement."
Wu Weiwei shook her head.
"Here’s your gem back."
Immediately, she took from a brocade pouch at her waist a fist-sized, entirely jade-green stone.
With both hands, she presented it to the boy.
The boy reached out and accepted it.
The previously silent gemstone suddenly emitted a layer of green radiance.
"Who is it?"
The boy was startled.
This gemstone in his hand was the Soul Suppressing Stone of the Cyan Snake Demon clan; it could sense Spiritual Sense probing and thus offer advance warning of danger.
The gem had been utterly motionless in Wu Weiwei’s hands, but the moment he took it, it reacted instantly—this meant that the hidden Spiritual Sense was far more powerful than Wu Weiwei’s own.
In Wu Weiwei’s hands, the Soul Suppressing Stone’s true power could not be brought to bear at all.
"Whoosh!"
The boy transformed into his snake form, turning into a cyan snake as thick as a hemp rope. The Soul Suppressing Stone hovering at his side shot out a streak of jade-green light towards the mouth of the valley.
This was to let him know—the master of the hidden Spiritual Sense was at the valley entrance.
The Little Cyan Snake immediately darted off in the indicated direction.
At the valley entrance, icy frost began to fall from the sky.
Countless Ice Cones rose from the ground.
Layer after layer of cold air, like curtains of light, enshrouded the valley mouth.
Suddenly, within the curtain of cold mist, a human-shaped gap opened up.
By the time the Little Cyan Snake rushed to the valley entrance with several snake kings in tow, the radiance surrounding the Soul Suppressing Stone had already faded away—proof that the intruder had already left the area.
"Brother Xiao Qing, I... I didn’t know someone was following me."
Wu Weiwei, riding the Frost Treasure Sword, flew out from within, looking panicked as she landed before the Little Cyan Snake.
The Little Cyan Snake turned back into the form of a boy once more.
Looking at the now-lusterless Soul Suppressing Stone, his face was expressionless as he said, "It’s not your fault. From now on—without my consent, no other member of the Cyan Snake Demon clan is to take a single step near the Dragon Capital."
"Yes!"
Wu Weiwei and the assembled snake kings replied.
The Little Cyan Snake also returned to the cave dwelling within the valley.
"Whew!"
A figure fled fifty miles within a quarter of an hour.
The figure appeared at the side of a small river.
"I hadn’t expected the Cyan Snake Demon clan’s foundations to become so strong. In merely a hundred years, they reached this level."
Jiang Feng was filled with emotion.
The sight of the Little Cyan Snake bursting out with a group of snake kings—it was truly awe-inspiring.
Though none among them could match his strength, on their own turf Jiang Feng had no advantage whatsoever. So as soon as he was discovered, he immediately retreated far away.
He and the Cyan Snake Demon clan shared an unresolvable grudge.
Only with the Blood-Burning Oath had he managed to cancel out this enmity. Without necessity, Jiang Feng did not want to clash with the Cyan Snake Demon clan again.
After two days’ flight, Jiang Feng left the Red Earth Forest and returned to Black Iron Mountain.
He checked his Fortune Point gains.
Fortune: 367712
It had risen by more than three hundred thousand.
"Little Cyan Snake surely knows I was the one who appeared in the valley. The Fortune Point increase must be related to him forbidding the Cyan Snake Demon clan’s members from entering the Dragon Capital."
Jiang Feng speculated internally.
He hadn’t expected any Fortune increase from tailing Wu Weiwei to gather information. After all, no matter which faction Wu Weiwei really belonged to, following her meant actively courting danger.
