Chapter 527: Chapter 286: Watching from the Sidelines, Peacefully Eating Melons (Part 2)
The four of them conferred for a moment before continuing on their way. Meng Feiyu deliberately chose a more secluded path. Even though it was longer, it would at least lower the chances of running into those people.
They rounded a Golden Crystal Shadow Wall, radiant with brilliant light and covered in Divine Beast Thunder Patterns. With a few deft movements, Meng Feiyu made a secret door quietly appear before their eyes.
"Let’s go. From here, we can quickly reach a small Secret Vault. The items inside were originally prepared for the Middle to Low rank Disciples, but now, they’re more suitable for your family’s use, my husband."
Meng Feiyu said as she led the other three inside.
Behind the door was a crystal passageway filled with shimmering light and shadows. After they went in, the door silently vanished, and the shadow wall showed no signs of anything unusual.
But not long after Ling Changqing had left with the three women, thousands of powerful Cultivators swarmed like a tide toward the foot of the three thousand Jade Steps that led to the glowing archway.
They were all dressed in identical Jade-colored Magical Robes, a mix of men and women, old and young. Clearly, they all belonged to the same faction.
Their leader was a child who looked no older than seven or eight, yet his eyes held a world-weariness that betrayed his youthful appearance. He held a Lotus Feather Duster, and his Cultivation was, astonishingly, at the Late Stage of Void Refining Realm.
The Cultivators behind him ranged in strength from the Nascent Soul Realm to the Divinity Transformation Realm, with some even at the Void Refining Realm. It was truly an exceptionally powerful contingent.
"...Patriarch, it seems someone just went in."
An old man with white hair and a youthful complexion, his eyes glinting, briefly scanned the steps before them and spoke in a low voice.
The child’s lips barely moved, and an old, hoarse voice emerged:
"The Hongmeng Divine Hall is a top-tier Ancient Dao Lineage from the Ancient Era. It is naturally filled with countless opportunities, so it stands to reason that it’s coveted by all manner of fiends and monsters in this world.
It’s impossible for our Yu Family to monopolize the treasures here. Once we’re inside, we’ll just have to play it by ear."
"The Patriarch is absolutely right."
The old man said with an agreeable smile. The Yu Family had mobilized nearly half of its elites for this expedition; they certainly couldn’t return empty-handed.
"Let’s go in,"
The child looked up at the top of the three thousand steps, toward the magnificent and imposing gate of radiant light, and said softly,
"The family has been preparing for this expedition for over a hundred years. Whether or not we’ll be successful now depends on fate!"
With that, the child led the way up the steps, and the crowd of Yu Family Cultivators followed close behind.
Less than an hour after they entered, another large group of Cultivators swarmed over. Their numbers were even slightly greater than the Yu Family’s contingent.
The young Cultivator leading them was dressed in a snow-white robe. With a face as handsome as carved jade, he looked every bit the part of a dashing, debonair young master. The aura he exuded was surprisingly no weaker than that of the Yu Family’s Patriarch.
"...Lord, that bunch from the Yu Family has already gone in."
A soft, ethereal voice drifted over.
The young master in white waved his Jade Bone Fan and said languidly:
"Let them go in. We need them to scout the way and spring the traps for us anyway. It’s fine!"
"Lord, should we wait for a bit, or follow them in now?"
A beautiful young woman in green robes asked respectfully.
The young master in white chuckled. "There’s no need to wait. Let’s go! For all we know, there’s more than one batch of fiends in there!"
He led the way, taking his subordinates up the steps. A moment later, they vanished through the gate.
This time, the peace lasted for less than two hours before the third wave of uninvited guests appeared.
This wave of Cultivators numbered in the thousands, and they were, without exception, stunningly beautiful and graceful Female Cultivators.
All the women were dressed in gemstone-blue skirts and carried Magic Swords on their backs. With hair as black as ink, bright eyes, and pearly teeth, their chattering made for a lively scene.
The woman at their head wore a magnificent golden Feathered Robe. Her peerless face was both holy and dignified, as exquisite as a painting. Yet, her voluptuous figure was enchantingly sensual, with shockingly long, jade-like legs.
Her Cultivation was also at the Void Refining Peak Realm, and the dozen or so gorgeous, mature women surrounding her were all powerhouses of the Void Refining Level.
"...Palace Master, those demons have all gone in. What should we do now?"
A beautiful, mature woman with a noble and radiant face asked the question.
The Palace Master’s dark brows knitted together slightly. After a moment of thought, she said:
"Those fiends from the Chiying Demon Sect have always been lawless. In their fight for these opportunities, they won’t hesitate to slaughter the members of the Yu Family!
Of course, that has nothing to do with us. All that matters is that we successfully obtain the Dao Lineage inheritance from the Hongmeng Divine Hall!"
"The Palace Master speaks wisely!"
The mature beauty agreed. The Xuannü Palace had been in decline on the Qingming Continent for many years, long reduced to a second-rate power. ’Our chance for a revival now depends on this expedition to the Hongmeng Divine Hall.’
If they could obtain the inheritance of this Ancient Dao Lineage, the Sect’s revival would be within reach, and its return to the ranks of the Qingming Continent’s top powers would be imminent.
’Even... it wouldn’t be impossible for them to dominate the Qingming Continent, becoming its sole supreme power.’
And so, led by their Palace Master, tens of thousands of beautiful Female Cultivators also swarmed up the steps and into the gate.
...
By now, Ling Changqing and the three women had passed through several palace halls, corridors, and secret passages, arriving in a Secret Hall roughly seventy feet wide.
Inside the hall stood thirty-six lifelike statues of Ancient Divine Beasts, each about ten feet tall.
Azure Dragon, Li Huang, Celestial Hound, Kunpeng, Kai Ming, Bifang...
"Just as I thought. No one has been in here yet," Meng Feiyu said, breathing a sigh of relief.
She had personally placed these statues here long ago, and the Seals and Restrictions on them were still intact.
