Chapter 518: Chapter 282: Never-ending (Part 2)
Ling Qiyue said, "Let’s not worry about them. We should focus on our own tasks. Husband, you can cultivate with the sisters, or you can go practice alchemy."
Ling Changqing looked at the beautiful, glistening eyes filled with anticipation all around him and said:
"I think I’ll go into seclusion for a while first to stabilize my cultivation, and then I’ll come spend time with you all!"
"How long will that take?"
Mu Yunxiu asked softly.
"A month at most."
Ling Changqing replied. He planned to improve several of his main Art Skills.
Yu Yalan smiled. "Then let’s get to our tasks. We can talk more after Husband comes out of seclusion."
After they chatted for a while longer, Ling Changqing returned to the Cultivation Chamber and activated all the Shielding Arrays and Restrictions.
He sat down on the Cold Jade Bed, opened his Storage Bracelet, and took out all the various Demon Beast Cores inside. There were so many that they practically formed a small mountain on the floor.
These were the spoils Ling Changqing had accumulated after killing three Nascent Soul True Monarchs and taking all their possessions. Later, he had also plundered the entire wealth of the Gui Qing and Dragon Horn sea regions.
Of course, the Cen Family of the Linsha Sea Region had also contributed a fair amount, providing Demon Beast Cores ranging from the second rank to Rank Four.
Ling Changqing checked his current Lifespan limit; it was 1,360 years.
He first spent three hundred years of Lifespan to raise his Talisman Dao Art Skill to Rank Four Low Grade, then spent another six hundred years to raise it to Rank Four Middle Grade.
When the upgrades were complete, his remaining Lifespan had dropped to 460 years.
’Take them. These cores are all yours!’
Ling Changqing said silently to the Gong Ling in his sea of consciousness.
A flame that was neither black nor white, but the color of primordial chaos, burned silently over the numerous Demon Beast Cores, reducing them to nothing in an instant.
Immediately, Ling Changqing’s Lifespan began to climb steadily. By the time it stabilized, it had recovered to 2,766 years.
The last time, right after breaking through to the Nascent Soul True Monarch Realm, Ling Changqing had already raised his Alchemy Dao and the Path of Celestial Secret Art and Divination to Rank Four Middle Grade.
Now that he had enough Lifespan, he planned to upgrade the remaining Array Dao and Artifact Dao as well, bringing them to Rank Four Middle Grade.
In doing so, he spent another 1,800 years of Lifespan.
Ling Changqing’s Divine Thought sank deep into his sea of consciousness and began to communicate with the Gong Ling.
Within his sea of consciousness, a message suffused with mysterious Dao Rhyme silently appeared:
[Master of the Era Star Palace: Ling Changqing]
[Bone Age: 90/966]
[Cultivation: Early stage Nascent Soul]
[Destiny: 404+795]
[Blessed Fortune: 395+618]
[Physique: 147]
[Root Bone: 160]
[Comprehension: 182]
[Divine Soul: 325]
[Alchemy Dao: 0/160,000 (Rank Four Middle Grade)]
[Talisman Dao: 0/160,000 (Rank Four Middle Grade)]
[Array Dao: 0/160,000 (Rank Four Middle Grade)]
[Artifact Dao: 0/160,000 (Rank Four Middle Grade)]
[Celestial Secret Technique and Divination: 0/200,000 (Rank Four Middle Grade)]
Ling Changqing looked it over and felt a slight sense of satisfaction. He couldn’t hope for Rank Four High Grade just yet; he would have to wait until his cultivation rose to the Middle stage Nascent Soul realm before he could continue to upgrade.
Of course, his current abilities were basically sufficient. After all, the total amount, purity, and density of Ling Changqing’s Magical Power far surpassed that of an ordinary Nascent Soul True Monarch.
Coupled with the blessing of his supreme Luck and Fortune, his speed and success rate in alchemy, as well as the quality of his Pill Formation, far exceeded the standards of a Pill Master of the same rank. Moreover, his performance was the same in the domains of Talisman Dao, Artifact Dao, and Array Dao.
Ling Changqing silently estimated the timeframe for his future advancement to Middle stage Nascent Soul. At the very fastest, it would take eighty to a hundred years, and that was with him engaging in Dual Cultivation day and night. Otherwise, it would certainly take much longer.
But this was understandable. For the vast majority of Cultivators who managed to advance to the Nascent Soul True Monarch realm, the breakthrough itself consumed all of their potential, Destiny, and resources.
For them to advance even one step further in their lifetimes was next to impossible, unless they acquired a new fortuitous opportunity.
The minor realm thresholds of Middle stage, Late stage, and Peak Nascent Soul were no less difficult than breaking through from Qi Cultivation to the Golden Core Master Realm. Each of these minor realms would filter out a large number of Cultivators, halting their progress.
However, these thresholds were practically nonexistent for Ling Changqing. As long as he accumulated enough, he could advance. This even applied to his Dao Companions.
Thinking of this, Ling Changqing was a bit speechless. Because of him, the Ling Family was now in a state of female dominance; the Cultivators at the Golden Core level and above were almost all women, and they were all his Dao Companions.
Among the male members of the Ling Family, very few could even reach the Golden Core Level, and a Nascent Soul True Monarch was completely out of the question. Even with no lack of resources, it was unlikely one would appear in the next several hundred years.
If this continued, the Ling Family would inevitably become like the Liu Ying Clan, where Female Cultivators held all the power, both internal and external. The male clan members would have a minimal presence, with no status or say in matters.
Ling Changqing wasn’t yet sure if this situation was good or bad, but just looking at the female-led powers like the Lu Hua Palace, the Liu Ying Clan, and the Shenluo Celestial Palace, they all seemed to be doing quite well.
Under normal circumstances, among powers of the same level, those sects or families composed purely of Female Cultivators tended to have greater raw strength, enough to suppress any surrounding male-led powers with ill intentions.
Otherwise, these female-led powers would find it impossible to maintain their independence and would, over time, likely become vassals to male-led powers.
But the Ling Family’s situation was clearly different. Because of Ling Changqing, in the eyes of outsiders, the family was still a power run by a male.
Reining in his wandering thoughts, Ling Changqing quickly entered a state of deep comprehension.
「A month passed quietly.」
When Ling Changqing finished his cultivation and walked out of the Cultivation Chamber once more, Qin Yun, Tang Qiu Yao, Yu Ruoshuang, and the other women were already waiting outside. Each one was meticulously dressed and positively radiant.
