Chapter 51: All Gods Will Return?

Michael’s weird statement about Leo’s wish made Raphael freeze. He stared at his son with a super suspicious look.

"Do you even know what the current world is like, demanding to be king? The power system has been solid for tens of thousands of years. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮

Do you know how many demigods are protecting it now? Just The Great Sun Temple alone has dozens of demigods, and I probably don’t even know all of them."

Even though Raphael had a very high status, that didn’t mean he had the right to know every single demigod at The Great Sun Temple. Only the Sun family had the authority to know all the current demigods.

Most of the demigods he knew were ones he had pretty good relationships with. The rest were especially outstanding members and those with positions. Anyway, some demigods didn’t like taking positions and preferred to wander around the continent.

Of course, back in the day, with his and Elio’s relationship, one question and he’d know everything. As long as he didn’t go bragging about it, Elio telling him was no issue at all.

But that didn’t really matter because the power system had been really stable for all those years. Knowing or not knowing didn’t do anything anyway.

"Demigods? What’s that compared to gods? Isn’t Michael right here? As long as he becomes a god, even if I can’t become king of the whole world, I could still snag a big piece of land and slowly develop it, right?"

Leo patted Michael on the shoulder, which made Michael feel a pressure like a mountain. Just being a god didn’t mean you were invincible.

"Yeah, you’re definitely gonna become a god at your peak. Even if you’re not as strong as Sun God, you won’t be far off. By then, people will come begging to join without us even having to fight."

The burning look Raphael used to stare at Michael made Michael feel like he was being strapped to a grill and spun around.

"I... I’ll do my best."

He really didn’t dare say that it took about five or more demigods to have a chance at taking down a god. If he said that, his importance would drop a ton because gods wouldn’t be invincible beings anymore.

In the era of Sun God and Sea God, humanity probably hadn’t developed strongly yet, so they couldn’t clearly perceive the power of gods. Records about gods were mostly just super vague words like ’invincible’ and ’immortal.’

"Why are you being insecure? Didn’t you claim to be a god? If you’re a god, you’re supposed to be invincible."

Raphael felt Michael’s current mental state wasn’t up to standard. A god, even if not the arrogant type, should at least be confident.

"My strength when fully grown is only top-tier. There are still a few other gods who might show up on this continent."

Of course Michael was confident he wasn’t second-rate. But saying he could take on the whole continent? He wouldn’t dare claim that.

"Other gods? You mean those evil gods? They were dealt with by Sea God and Sun God. They haven’t shown up on this continent for tens of thousands of years. Are you saying all gods are returning at the same time in this era?"

Raphael laughed and spoke confidently about his own deduction. But Michael’s face twisted up.

Based on his novel-reading experience, this wasn’t good. Not to mention the old evil gods, there would even be new gods appearing. He himself was a new god, but with the inherited abilities of an old one.

Seeing Michael’s terrible expression made the two of them exchange confused looks. Could the ridiculous thing Raphael just accidentally said actually be true?

"Hey, are all gods really gonna come back?"

Raphael, as if thinking of something extremely important, immediately grabbed Michael by the shoulders and pressed him hard.

"Damn it, let me go."

Michael struggled, refusing to talk. If he wasn’t properly released, there was no way he’d say anything more. Seeing that, Raphael let Michael go, but his anxious look remained.

"Hmph, I’m saying it’s the worst-case scenario. Anyway, this era is incredibly strange. Someone like Leo, why didn’t he show up for tens of thousands of years and only appear now? And why did I only show up now? We can’t afford to ignore this possibility."

Michael himself wasn’t clear about it, but he had a hunch this scenario had a very high chance of happening. That was why, even with the strength of a god, he still had to be careful when stepping into the center of this era.

Raphael quickly connected the scattered data with this hypothesis. An extremely unbelievable result immediately appeared in his head.

"Damn it, could Gabriel be stopping Sun God from returning? Or maybe he wants to weaken Sun God. That old man definitely knows something."

Leo heard the cursing and knew the target Raphael was cursing at was his grandfather. A powerful and influential guy who was willing to throw everything away just to stop a god from returning.

For some reason, he got the feeling that he and Gabriel would probably become comrades the moment they met.

"Huh? Are all gods really gonna return?"

Raphael suddenly said that, making Michael feel a bit panicked. If those gods currently possessed god-level strength, he was screwed.

Except for Sun God, who even if he appeared, wouldn’t have any decent abilities because Gabriel had stopped him from the start. For the other gods who weren’t blocked from returning, it was hard to guess what their strength was like.

If it were before, he wouldn’t be afraid of those gods anyway, since he had no grudges with them. He even wanted to befriend them, but Leo’s damn wish meant he would definitely end up offending a lot of gods.

"I think that’s it. Looks like we can’t afford to delay. We don’t need to worry about Sun God for now, but the other gods are too unpredictable."

"Hold on. Before we start, can we introduce ourselves to each other? Just to make it feel like we trust each other more."

Michael suddenly raised his hand to speak. Even though everyone already knew each other’s identities, saying it yourself showed more respect for your teammates.
