Chapter 256: Trap of blood
When Kaiser woke up again, he was surprised to find Sebastian just about to leave his bedside.
"Interesting. Solace-boy, you have finally woken up."
The golden-haired youth smiled handsomely, staring at Kaiser intensely.
He was clad in uniforms, surprising Kaiser.
"Let me guess. Monday?"
The flamboyant man nodded. "I heard you woke up yesterday and fell unconscious again. You won’t suddenly fall unconscious while I’m here with you, right? That would be ugly."
Kaiser’s brows furrowed. "You don’t usually rant like this. What do you want to say to me?"
Sebastian laughed heartily. "Haha. You really are as sharp as I thought. Good."
His smile dimmed, and his expression turned serious. "I only came here to give you a warning. Someone is planning something bad for one of those you consider significant."
Kaiser’s expression didn’t change. He tilted his head and asked.
"How do you know this?"
Rolling his eyes, Sebastian smirked. "I am naturally amazing. How do you expect me not to know? That’s not what matters, though. What matters is what I want."
He stared straight into Kaiser’s eyes. "If anything of such happens, ultimately, do not kill anyone, Kaiser."
This finally made the boy frown. "Why do you think I would need to kill?"
Sebastian laughed again, his eyes narrowing into crescents.
"Are you asking me? Aren’t you a feral killer? You would kill at every chance handed to you."
He smiled and turned around.
"That’s all I want to give you though, happy recovery."
Before he stepped outside, he heard Kaiser’s voice.
"Hold on. Since you know I would kill at any chance given, do you think I would kill you someday?"
Sebastian chuckled, his smile confident.
"You might be able to crush me, but you cannot kill me."
"Oh? Why?"
"Don’t ask me. It’s plot armor."
Kaiser frowned at those words, unable to understand for some strange reason.
’It doesn’t matter. Instead, I’m interested about the plan against someone I consider significant.’
Getting out of the bed, he saw a bouquet of flowers by the bedside, making him frown.
"Flowers? Who thinks I’m dead?"
Shaking his head, he turned around and left the infirmary.
It was currently lunch break, so the hallways were full of students.
Wearing a patient’s clothes, Kaiser stood out like a sore thumb, and soon people began discussing about him in hushed whispers.
"Hm?"
Suddenly, he noticed a girl who was walking quickly, but wasn’t looking up.
"Ah!"
The girl almost crashed into him, but he pressed a finger to her forehead, halting her movement.
The girl immediately looked up, her violet eyes staring at him in surprise.
"Oh! Kaiser!"
He nodded back. "Iruca."
She smiled and examined him. "You’re finally awake. But at an odd time."
She could see that everyone was staring at him weirdly. If it was her, she’d be embarrassed and would have run off.
Kaiser nodded, then said casually. "You were rushing. You should always look ahead whenever you’re moving in a crowded area."
Iruca blinked and nodded obediently, watching him walk away in a daze.
Kaiser left the school building and returned to the empty dormitory, going straight to his room to rest.
"I shouldn’t have another intent breakdown like that for a few months. Perhaps I really need to go to the Nirad Realm to slaughter a few..."
He stepped into the shower, turning on the tap and letting the water flow onto his head and down his pristine body.
"Ah..."
He ran his hand through his hair, flashes of the past coming to his mind.
"That reminds me of President. I haven’t had my battle with him, right?"
After all, he had restrained Logan about a month ago, and his reward would be another spar with the president.
’Hm. It’s almost a month again. Do I have to restrict him again?’
Pondering about it, he picked up the towel and dried himself.
Stepping back into the room, he saw that his phone had just received a message.
"Maya?"
He picked up the phone and read the messages. "Hm, alright."
Putting on light clothes, he lay on the bed and took out the Rune book to continue studying.
......
The next day, he appeared in school as usual. The rumors about him leaving the infirmary during lunch break yesterday, had spread.
So his classmates weren’t surprised to see him.
Instead, everyone kept wondering what could have happened to him that made him go into coma for days.
Everyone knew he had fought Gaga alone, and they quietly wondered if he had lost.
Perhaps, Gaga had beaten him into coma. After all, they had seen the black-haired Class-A student looking fine the next day without any injuries.
That wasn’t really their most discussed topic, though. Instead, it was their ascension to Class-D.
By taking first place, they had gained 150 Class Rank Points, raising their total to 750 CRP.
With this, they officially surpassed Austin’s class, taking up their position as Class-D.
To say that Class-D’s atmosphere was filled with jubilation would be an understatement.
Logan sat in his seat, jaws clenched and fists clenched tightly.
His red eyes burned with excitement, as he suppressed the urge to roar victoriously.
The rest of the students were no different. This time, they weren’t the students of the trash class in the first-year.
They weren’t the lowest class, and they weren’t the ones without a future.
Although it had been hard at first, they were gradually improving.
’Soon, we’ll become Class-C, then Class-B, then...’
Logan couldn’t control himself and groaned.
Several girls cast weird gazes at him, though they could somehow understand his excitement.
Instructor Rina turned to look at him, then shook her head.
As she turned her back to turn board, she couldn’t help but smile.
’Perhaps we can really do it.’
Meanwhile, Kaiser sat in his seat, thinking about nothing but runes and salad, fried chicken...
’Hm?’
Sensing a subtle gaze directed at him, he turned just in time to catch Kiera staring at him.
The girl looked paler than usual, and there was visible exhaustion on her face.
"Are you alright?" Her boyfriend, Liam, whispered gently, looking at her with concern.
Kiera turned to him, then nodded. "I’m fine."
Inwardly though, she was feeling conflicted. ’This concern you’re showing... isn’t it the same you showed Kim when she was having her period a few days ago?’
Suddenly, she didn’t know if Liam genuinely loved her, or he just cared for her like he would for others.
’Ugh.’
Her fangs suddenly elongated and dug into her lips, causing her to wince.
Her red eyes brightened for a moment, and she felt the world around her blur.
’I’m hungry.’
It had been days since she had drank Kaiser’s blood, and she was already feeling the draining hunger telling on her body.
Vmm!
Feeling her phone vibrate, she secretly took it out and checked. It was a message from Kaiser.
’You can come feed after classes have ended.’
Her eyes lit up immediately, and she subconsciously threw a beautiful smile at him.
He glanced at her, nodded, then turned away.
Ysabella caught their whole interaction from the corner of her eyes, her heart darkening with poison.
’You’re getting it today, you inhuman bitch. And you, Kaiser... let’s see what you’ll do when you find out.’
The classes continued as usual, and after hours of tiresome lessons and a Combat Training class at the end, the day was finally coming to an end.
Kaiser, Sebastian, Mordica, and a few others were the first to leave the class. Some others still stayed behind for a few minutes, chatting and making plans.
"Kiera, how about we go to the pool?" Kim walked up to the white-haired girl, smiling brightly.
Usually, Kiera would have agreed, but she couldn’t.
"I’m sorry, Kim. I can’t go with you guys. I need to go and do a few things in my place."
Kim’s face immediately turned dejected. "Oh, it’s okay. I understand."
Seeing her like this, Kiera felt bad and patted her shoulder.
"Don’t worry, I’ll definitely join you guys tomorrow."
Packing her bags, she walked up to Liam.
"You’re heading out for sports training today, right?"
He paused his chat with Astron, looked at her, and nodded.
"Yeah, I’m sorry we can’t go back together."
To his surprise, she didn’t snap at him today. Instead, she smiled and acted mature.
"It’s okay. Train well, alright? I still want to watch one of your matches."
Saying that, she turned around and left the class.
Liam and Astron glanced at each other, still confused.
"Is it me or she’s growing mature?" Astron asked with a smile.
Liam only nodded, smiling faintly. In his heart though, he felt slightly conflicted.
Kiera gripped her bag and happily skipped along the hallway, ignoring the students around her.
All she could think about was sinking her fangs into Kaiser’s smooth neck and drinking his unique blood in large gulps.
’Wait... blood?’
Suddenly, her nose twitched, and she paused. Turning to the side, she saw a faint trail of blood leading to the stairs.
’This is... someone got injured...?’
Confused and bewildered, she followed the trail, not knowing she had fallen into a trap.
