Meanwhile, to the northwest of the Yan Immortal Dynasty.

In a secluded cave located atop a small mountain, Yan Guo meditated quietly, recovering his injuries.

At the entrance of the cave abode sat a woman with long, flowing cyan hair, guarding Yan Guo inside.

She was Mo Yuxin!

Looking up close, she herself was somewhat injured too, although not as much as Yan Guo.

At this moment, she had a troubled look on her face.

Damn it...who would’ve thought that I would encounter a Golden Core Realm Demon Beast who had evolved into a Demon in these desolate lands?

Maybe I was too self conscious of myself and became careless because of it, haah..

She breathed in deeply, closing her eyes.

That Demon is still roaming around here...well, I can only stay here quietly and recover before escaping..

Thinking of this, she glanced inside of the cave.

That kid isn’t too bad. At first, I thought of leaving him behind and escaping alone, but now I should take him with myself.

Mo Yuxin couldn’t help but be impressed by Yan Guo when he skillfully confronted those hundreds of Demon Beasts and his decisiveness in battle. She felt that he was worth nurturing despite only having Three-Elemental Spiritual Roots.

Well, let me focus on the situation at hand first.

...

A few months later, outskirts of the Yan Immortal Dynasty.

*Whoom!*

Five figures flew by rapidly, their speed exceeding a hundred miles per hour.

At the front were Tian Yongheng and Lu Qingfeng. Since Lu Qingfeng was still in the Qi Condensation Realm and couldn’t fly yet, Tian Yongheng was using his own Spiritual Energy to take him with them.

Yun Feng had also wanted to come at first, but he was outright rejected by Tian Yongheng because of the dangers that they may encounter ahead.

He wouldn’t have taken Yan Jingfei and Lu Qingfeng with him too had both of them not been Chosen Ones blessed with great Providence.

They wouldn’t die anyway, and they may even provide him with many fortuitous encounters. So why not just take them with him?

A few days later, they all arrived at a small, isolated valley, densely packed with weak Demon Beasts in the Qi Condensation Realm. There were a few Foundation Establishment Realm Demon Beasts there too, but they were all in the early and mid stages, not worth mentioning.

Not wanting to provoke the hundreds of Demon Beasts below or arouse their attention, Tian Yongheng decided to just sneak around to the Golden Core cave abode and asked Yan Zhangwei behind him, "Where is it?"

Yan Zhangwei turned to look at Yun Ping.

Yun Ping took a deep breath before saying, "The terrain has changed a lot here, so we may have to search for it for a bit longer, but my grandmaster told me before dying that the cave abode is located where the sun rises and the waterfall crashes down on the redstone."

"Where the sun rises...meaning it’s somewhere in the east. But where’s the redstone? Or even the waterfall?" Yan Zhangwei couldn’t help but ask his doubts.

"There are no signs of it right now...but it means this entire valley once used to be a lake attached to a waterfall." Yan Jingfei said, pointing at a dainty corner of the valley which was carved out in a special way, as if something used to be placed on it.

As soon as she said this, all of them excluding Lu Qingfeng spread out their Divine Sense to search that part of the valley.

It must be around here...I’m sure of it.

She thought, before finally stumbling across a passage blocked with rubble and large stones.

"It’s here, I’ve found it!" She exclaimed excitedly, leading them in.

"Good job, Fei’er!" Yan Zhangwei praised before following her in.

She’s truly a Chosen One...despite my Divine Sense being stronger than her own, she still found it faster than me. Even if she has memories of her past life and she must’ve remembered this place, it still shows how many advantages she has over someone like me.

Tian Yongheng thought silently, also following her in.

Everyone else also followed her before coming across the blocked entrance to the cave abode.

Seeing the pile of rubble, Tian Yongheng slightly raised his hand before condensing his Spiritual Energy and coating it on his hand, giving it a blade-like shape.

*Swoosh!* *Swoosh!* *Swoosh!*

*Bang!*

Almost instantly, all the debris crumbled apart, literally turning into some sort of powder.

All this in less than ten seconds.

Seeing Tian Yongheng do this, almost everyone present was extremely shocked, but they didn’t say it out aloud.

Soon, they stepped inside the cave abode. There were no restrictions inside, which was particularly suspicious and weird considering no cultivator would ever want their inheritance and treasures to fall into any random person’s hands.

But even after some time, no restrictions or Array Formations activated, which meant that this wasn’t a trap.

The cave abode from the inside was quite spacious, enough to accommodate hundreds of people. There were some basic things such as cultivation mats inside, but even the simplest of cultivation mats there were extremely valuable, comparable to Rank-1 Dharma Artifacts!

But they were of no use to Tian Yongheng and the others at all. Although Yan Zhangwei still picked up all of them.

At the center sat a lifeless figure in a lotus position, only his bones remaining from the vicissitudes of time. It seemed he had been dead since thousands of years, but even after that, his skeleton still emanated a powerful aura. Although it would only be enough to scare away some cultivators at the Acupoint Opening Stage.

Tian Yongheng ran his Divine Sense through the carcasses of the fallen Immortal Cultivator infront of him, only to discover he didn’t have any Dharma Artifact, Talisman or even any Pill on him except for a small ordinary pouch on his lap.

However, he was stunned for a moment after seeing the small pouch.

"This pouch...a storage it-!?"

*Roar!*

But before he could finish his sentence, a loud, ferocious roar was heard coming from the deepest part of the cave abode.

"Huh...? That was..?" Yan Jingfei couldn’t help but ask, a slight tremble in her voice.

All the others present except for Tian Yongheng had a shocked, terrified expression on their faces.

It seems even Fei’er doesn’t know anything about the origin of that roar..just what could it be...

Thinking of this, Tian Yongheng spread out his Divine Sense to the deepest part of the cave abode.

The place where they were right now was still somewhat outside, but the origin of that roar seemed even deeper, going further into a narrow passageway that lead to a dark, gloomy space inside. However, Tian Yongheng had one question in his mind.

Why couldn’t I detect it earlier? Or rather, why can’t I detect it even now?

At this moment, his Divine Sense stopped going further and got stuck just at the entrance of that gloomy place where the roar came from.

"Huh?"

No way...the reason my Divine Sense can’t Sense anything from there is because that place is sealed off!? But why is that seal seems to be weakening now of all times!?

Is it because we awakened that thing which was sealed inside, and now it’s going on a rampage!?

Now I understand why this Golden Core Realm senior here doesn’t have any Formations or restrictions placed here!

He spent all those resources to seal this thing because it was too damn strong! And that’s also how he died from the severe injuries caused by it!

*Roar!*

*Boom!*

In that moment, the seal which was holding the Demon off shattered in an instant, the Demon’s aura seeping out and making everyone feel a great sense of dread within them.

I-it wasn’t here in my p-past life...what the hell is this..

Yan Jingfei and all the others except Tian Yongheng immediately fell to their knees from the overwhelming pressure exuding from the being who was coming towards them.

Even with the extreme pressure, Tian Yongheng stood there expressionless, but he was actually panicking inside.

I shouldn’t have decided to come out.

He stared at the back of the cave abode, connecting the two spaces by a passage, patiently waiting for the arrival of this powerhouse who was at least in the Golden Core Realm.

Golden Core Realm...it means it’s not just a Demon Beast now. It has gained consciousness and is now a full fledged Demon!

He thought, recalling the teachings he had learned from his mother.

So what if it’s a Golden Core Realm Demon? I’m also not weak at all. All these people behind have placed their trust in me. I won’t let them down.

Besides...

He looked down to see the remains of the former owner of this cave abode and took a deep breath.

"I’ll finish what this senior started as a form of gratitude for letting me take his opportunity."
