A few weeks later.

Eternal Peak.

Tian Yongheng was cultivating quietly before he sensed the presence of numerous people outside of the Eternal Peak. He didn’t pay much attention to them as he already knew that they should be from the Sword Seeking Sect and had come here to send some disciples and resources.

However, at this moment, he sensed Yan Jingfei trying to communicate with him through voice transmission.

"Master, some brothers and sisters from the Sword Seeking Sect are here to deliver resources. After this, they’ll go out to search for some talented individuals to recruit them into their sect, and they’re asking me to tag along with them. Although I didn’t have much interaction with them in my past life after the Yan Dynasty was destroyed, they could be considered good friends of mine before that.

I wanted to ask if should I go or not? Maybe I can also find a good disciple for our Eternal Peak." She said in the voice transmission.

Tian Yongheng contemplated Yan Jingfei’s words for a bit.

If I let her out, will she really attract trouble? What if she accidently offends a young master of some hidden faction? But it’s not like they’re gonna go too far from here, at most within the territory of the Sword Seeking Sect.

Well...what can really go wrong then?

"You must come back in less than 6 months of time, alright?" He finally responded calmly.

"Yes, of course!"

With that, Yan Jingfei flew out of her cave abode, a small smile on her face.

She didn’t really want to go out this time, but her intuition was telling her that she may encounter a big opportunity if she went out.

That’s why she asked Tian Yongheng about it first.

As for what the opportunity may be...she didn’t know, but had a feeling that it will be very extraordinary.

...

A month later.

Silver Dust City.

Lu Qingfeng had just eaten his food after selling the corpses of some small animals he had hunted.

Suddenly, his gaze landed Lu Cheng who was coming towards him from far.

Panicking, Lu Qingfeng ran to the city gates, his forehead covered in sweat.

I can only do this for now!

He thought as he ran as fast as he could, towards the outskirts of the forest outside of the city, not even looking behind to check if Lu Cheng was following him.

On the other hand, Lu Cheng came to the restaurant and searched for Lu Qingfeng everywhere.

Did that little rat really leave? If not, then where is he? If I’m correct, he should be here at this time round.

"Well, it’s good that he knows what’s the best for him." Saying this, Lu Cheng looked around for some more time before leaving.

Meanwhile, Lu Qingfeng had already sprinted all the way into the forest.

"Haah...hahh.." His legs trembled as he collapsed to the ground, panting heavily. Unknowingly, he had already traveled very deep into the forest, and the howls of big animals could be heard every now and then.

At this moment, he suddenly heard a loud roar from behind him. He turned around, only to see a tiger more than 2 meter big staring at him menacingly.

It immediately lunged at him swiftly, roaring. He tried to get up and dodge, but before he could even do anything, the tiger’s paw landed on his right shoulder. The attack was so powerful that it tore apart all his shoulder muscles and even cracked some bones there, making him fly away into a tree.

*Bam!*

The entire tree shook as Lu Qingfeng’s body hit it with immense pressure, making him groan in pain.

Immediately afterwards, the tiger launched another attack on him, but before it could actually manage to land a hit on him, it suddenly paused and looked up in the air.

*Buzz!*

*Crackle!*

A flash of thunder appeared in the eyes of Lu Qingfeng, and the tiger was reduced to ashes on the spot.

Extremely shocked, he looked up to see a clear sky with no clouds whatsoever and the sun shining down, a gracious figure on a flying sword looking down at him with a chain made of pure lightning wrapping around her left hand.

Seeing her, the only word Lu Qingfeng could think of was: beautiful. As beautiful as a fairy. The sunlight shone down on her face and body, highlighting her looks and making her look like a fairy who had descended down from the high heavens.

Her long black hair flowed down to her waist, her brown eyes shining, but it seemed as if they were hiding many great secrets behind them.

She was Yan Jingfei!

Lu Qingfeng was stunned and mesmerized by her. He couldn’t even think straight after seeing her.

Suddenly, she came down with her flying swords and landed in front of him, snapping Lu Qingfeng out of it.

"Ah...tha-thank you for saving me, f-fairy!" He stuttered from sheer nervousness, though there was gratitude in his eyes.

Yan Jingfei on the other hand couldn’t help but widen her eyes in shock when she saw him.

This mortal...there is something special about him, something that even I can’t detect!

"Do you...belong to any cultivation faction?" She asked calmly and carefully, studying him from the corner of her eyes.

"No...I’m a former servant of the Lu Martial Family, but I was kicked out after I accidently offended a powerful figure within the family..they even killed my parents..." Lu Qingfeng answered honestly, his head down in sorrow.

Hearing his words, Yan Jingfei felt a little bit pitiful at his situation, but it didn’t affect her much since this was pretty normal in the cultivation world.

This once again showed how cruel was the world of Immortal Cultivation and how many dangers lied ahead in the path to godhood.

"Would you like to come with me instead then? My master may even accept you as his disciple. But even if he does not, I can guarantee you won’t regret it either way." She smiled slightly at him, making sure to remain as friendly as possible.

Hearing her say that, Lu Qingfeng’s eyes widened in shock.

Becoming the disciple of a powerful Immortal Cultivator? This fairy here can easily kill a tiger, then how much powerful must her master be? Am I really qualified for that?

Many questions popped up in his head, and he finally responded after a while, "But I don’t know if I even have Spiritual Roots that are required for cultivation..."

"Don’t worry. You have Five-Elemental Spiritual Roots here. They are more than enough, not to mention it wouldn’t matter even if you didn’t had any. My master isn’t a normal cultivator, you know." Yan Jingfei reassured him once more, her Spiritual Energy slowly wrapping around him.

"Now then, shall we go?" She asked as she looked at his face.

A bit hesitant at first, Lu Qingfeng’s eyes became excited with a longing as he nodded repeatedly.

I’ll definitely avenge you, mother and father! And I’ll become an Immortal, too!

With that, Yan Jingfei’s Spiritual Energy rose him from the ground and made him stand on her flying sword, stabilizing him so he doesn’t fall off.

"Let’s go then!" She said in a firm tone of voice, and flew away on her flying sword with Lu Qingfeng.

...

Meanwhile, at the mansion of the Lu Martial Family.

Lu Sheng, the tenth young master and the next heir to the Lu Martial Family was inside of his room, studying a Martial Arts manual.

Suddenly, he closed the manual and looked around, then took out a small black box from his robe.

The box shook slightly, pulling Lu Sheng’s consciousness inside of it.

He was stunned for a moment, but he immediately got excited as he asked inside of his mind,

"Ancestor, have you finally awakened?"
