*Boom!*

The Demonic Energy beam collided with Wang Daoyun, causing spoke to rise through the clouds and a shockwave to sweep throughout the battlefield.

Lin Xiaoxiao couldn’t help but dart her eyes towards the collision from the other side of the battlefield, slight nervousness evident in them, but she quickly composed herself as Spiritual Energy shaped into spirals formed above her, releasing an array of attacks towards the creature which obviously didn’t have much of an effect on it.

She was naturally worried, but she also had the confidence that nothing would happen to Wang Daoyun.

He wasn’t called the greatest genius of the current generation for no reason.

As the smoke slowly dispersed from the collision, a huge, cyan colored hand of Spiritual Energy was revealed shielding Wang Daoyun from the Demonic Energy beam.

The cyan hand, originating from the colossal cyan humanoid avatar of Wang Daoyun, looked almost identical to him and wielded dual swords of Spiritual Energy mixed in with Sword Intent.

The surrounding cultivators, no matter if they were from the demonic path, righteous path, or the Demon Race, even many of the great geniuses of the righteous path, were stunned to see the domineering might and impressive size of the Divinity Transcendence Venerable’s avatar.

It was perhaps the biggest avatar they had ever seen!

Not even the Unrivaled Fist God or the Path Seeker Daoist’s avatars were this massive despite both of them being higher in cultivation base compared to the Divinity Transcendence Venerable!

Wang Daoyun stared at the creature coldly, his eyes emitting a cold light as cyan colored sword lights emerged from them. Two swords appeared in his hand, possibly retrieved from his Storage Ring.

Both swords shimmered with cold sword light, emitting extreme Sword Intent as Wang Daoyun’s Divine Sense locked onto the creature.

He slowly raised the dual blades in his hand, placing them on top of eachother in a defensive stance, his avatar doing the same but with far more Spiritual Energy and Sword Intent.

Avatars of cultivators at the Nascent Soul Realm and above were far stronger than those of lower cultivation levels, and it was not because of the difference in their cultivation, but because of the formation of the Nascent Soul.

Before one’s soul transformed into the Nascent Soul, the avatar was nothing but a shell of the cultivator, completely lifeless with limited abilities.

However, after the formation of the Nascent Soul, the avatar had truly become one with the cultivator, and it reflected the state of the cultivator’s Nascent Soul, with extremely powerful strength and abilities as numerous as the cultivator themselves.

Before the Nascent Soul Realm, an avatar was unable to use any sort of Divine Powers of the cultivator or even things like Sword Intent and Fist Intent.

It was only because Wang Daoyun was already at the Tribulation Transcendence Realm that his avatar was capable of mobilizing Sword Intent as well.

At this moment, Wang Daoyun slashed out with his swords, his avatar doing the same towards the creature.

*Swoosh!*

*Boom!*

Two terrifying waves of Sword Qi swept up in the air, cutting through Spirit Qi and slashing through the air, creating small ripples in the space.

It’s sheer power alone was enough to shake the foundation of an entire universe in itself!

The Sword Qi waves hit the huge body of the creature, splitting its body into three pieces vertically.

The creature didn’t even have a chance to resist!

Seeing this scene, the surrounding low level cultivators of the righteous path cheered out in unison, while the higher level ones were still silent, as if waiting for something.

Just a few seconds later, a tremor went through the land, causing all the noises to stop abruptly as everyone looked towards the Pristine Waters in a faraway distance.

This...

Don’t tell me another one will rise from the depths of the Pristine Waters now?

Feeling the tremors in the land, Wang Daoyun thought silently, his gaze fixated at the rising waves of the Pristine Waters once again as the body of the creature he had just cut into pieces started to disintegrate into nothingness.

Soon enough, he saw the same, glowing red eyes with the horrendous facial features and a gigantic body rise up from the Pristine Waters.

Except for the fact that it seemed stronger than before now, just like the last couple of times.

"It’s here again."

Wang Daoyun muttered under his breath, his eyes taking in the figure of the creature before fixing onto its glowing red eyes. Both of them stared at one another, but the creature’s eyes held no malice or even any emotion, while Wang Daoyun’s eyes were full of determination and rage.

The creature he killed was already the third one in the past few years, and the fourth one rose not long after eliminating the last.

He and the other high ranking cultivators on the battlefield already knew of the fact that these creatures were undoubtedly puppets being controlled by someone else, as every time they killed them, no soul appeared from their bodies, while their movements were very puppet like as well.

Every existence with a consciousness had a soul, even flowers and rocks who had been enlightened into living beings and developed consciousness had also developed a soul along with their consciousness.

This was something all of them knew.

These creatures not having a soul meant that they weren’t a living being, either a corpse puppet of a being who once was actually alive or just a puppet created from heavenly treasures and earthly materials.

The creature slowly started to advance towards the East Coast once again as the Tribulation Transcendence Realm cultivators quickly gathered together.

"What should we do now? There seems to be no end to these bizarre fellows!"

"We have to continue fighting until we recieve further instructions from our seniors. What else is there that we can do?"

"But isn’t that too..."

As all of them talked, Wang Daoyun, the Divinity Transcendence Venerable, finally spoke up.

"We can’t back down now, no matter how many of these strange creatures come our way. We have to fight to the very limit of our capabilities.

These creatures are still within the range of the Tribulation Transcendence Realm and none of them has yet had the power to match the Immortal Ascension Realm, which means we can wait till we get further instructions from our seniors and keep these fellows here at bay till then.

If you’re scared, you can leave the battlefield right now. If you choose to stay, then you’re not allowed to leave unless the opponent far exceeds our capabilities and is already comparable to the Immortal Ascension Realm or beyond."

By the end, Wang Daoyun’s voice took on a firm tone as he ran his gaze through every single cultivator present in the discussion.

A few of them darted their eyes away, clearly wanting to back off, but they didn’t dare to state it out loud as they were afraid that they would offend the Divinity Transcendence Venerable and other supreme geniuses of the current generation.

Another reason was that they were also afraid of bringing shame to their respective factions.

Finally, one of them couldn’t hold it in and decided to speak out, "Fellow daoists, I get why you’re trying so hard to defeat these creatures, but I simply can’t continue do so as you say in these circumstances. My Spiritual Energy is running low, not to mention that it’s not worth it risking my life out here when I still have a lot of potential left in me for cultivation and other things.

Us Immortal Cultivators should prioritize our life above all else, no?"

The person who spoke was none other than Chu Feng, someone with great Providence and the inheritance of a True Immortal who previously had a rivalry with Tian Chen, the young master of the Great Tian Immortal Family and the reincarnation of the Harem Emperor.

Hearing Chu Feng’s words, Tian Chen was also slightly taken aback.

This fellow is actually so bold to be able to say this, risking offending all the major factions?

He couldn’t help but think silently.

"Fellow daoist here is the only personal disciple of the Valley Lord of the Celestial Valley of Light, right?"

Wang Daoyun asked as he turned his head towards Chu Feng, his gaze as still as the ocean.

Chu Feng nodded as he spoke, "The Divinity Transcendence Venerable won’t have any problem with me leaving, right? After all, you yourself stated that anyone can leave before the beginning of the next battle."

"Of course not. You are free to leave."

Wang Daoyun nodded slightly as he said this.

"Fellow daoist, it seems I too should..."

"I think it’s better for me to leave as well..’

"We are only some unnecessary burdens for fellow daoists here..."

Soon enough, more and more cultivators joined in and gave excuses to leave the battlefield, saying that they will go back and ask their own factions to send some Immortal Ascension Realm experts to the battlefield.

Of course, Wang Daoyun and the others didn’t believe them.
