[Zhao Ye’s favorability towards you has increased.]

[Current favorability: 2-Star]

"You must be the Master of Eternal Peak, please sit here." Zhao Ye spoke, his voice commanding enough to draw attention everywhere, however, nor Tian Yongheng and neither Yan Jingfei were much affected by it.

Two cultivation cushions appeared out of thin air, landing on the surface. The cushions were made of special materials which could be sensed even from far away, and they even emanated Spirit Qi.

Seeing this, Tian Yongheng nodded at Zhao Ye as he spoke before sitting at the cushion along with Yan Jingfei, "I’m honored to meet the renowned Turquoise Lake Swordmaster, one of the strongest Sword Cultivators of the Qingyun Region. This is my eldest disciple, Yan Jingfei." His voice was calm and indifferent as always, showing a air of detachment.

"I’ve also heard much about the Master of Eternal Peak. Your name has caused quite a stir across the entirety of Qingyun Region. From defeating the Innate Realm while being at the Acquired Realm, to that mysterious phenomena happening above the Eternal Peak.

Some people are even calling you one of the leading geniuses of the Qingyun Region’s current generation." Said Zhao Ye, a small smile plastered on his face.

Tian Yongheng didn’t say anything, but inwardly, he was quite stunned.

He had only left the Eternal Peak 2 times in his life of more than 200 years, yet even that caused him to be so much famous?

He had indeed underestimated the sensitivity of the cultivation world to such things.

At this moment, Zhao Ye spoke up again, his voice now serious, "Fellow daoist Tian, I won’t beat around the bush anymore. I want to establish an alliance with the Eternal Peak, and more specifically, I want to be allies with you." He said decisively.

He was actually unable to see through Tian Yongheng’s cultivation base!

It meant that either his Providence was too great for him to be able to see through him, or he was stronger than him in terms of cultivation.

Whatever the case was, it was absolutely terrifying.

Even if he was not stronger than him, he could tell from his presence that Tian Yongheng was most likely on par with him in terms of both cultivation and Sword Intent.

At first, he had decided to test whether Tian Yongheng was actually a Chosen One or not, but upon witnessing this, he had no choice but to directly put the matter of alliance in front of him.

Having such an opportunity in front of him, it would be like rejecting heaven’s will if he didn’t do anything about it.

For him, Tian Yongheng was possibly one of the greatest opportunities he’ll ever get in his life. And not just for him, but also for the entire Turquoise Lake Sword Manor.

Being able to cultivate from the mere Acquired Realm to the Void Refinement Realm in less than 200 years along with being a Chosen One...this talent surpassed that of even the Divine Sovereign, the greatest genius in history and an ancient Immortal God.

He absolutely had to get on Tian Yongheng’s good side and at least make friends with him if not an alliance.

Offending him was not an option!

Hearing his words, Tian Yongheng couldn’t help but be astonished. However, he still talked with Zhao Ye about this matter calmly before they came to a conclusion after some time.

Throughout this whole talk, Yan Jingfei just sat there without saying a word.

Later on, Zhao Ye invited both of them to stay in the Turquoise Lake Sword Manor for a few years, helping each other in comprehending the Sword Dao and sharing insights.

Tian Yongheng agreed naturally without any hesitation. It was a good thing to have someone of a higher cultivation to discuss the Dao with.

Not to mention he could also obtain more information about many things, including the heavenly scripts in possession of Zhao Ye.

...

At the same time, above the same deep and dark valley.

The smell of blood wafted everywhere, surroundings of more than a thousand miles utterly destroyed.

All the nearby mortal settlements were eradicated with no signs of life remaining, corpses could be seen everywhere and rivers of blood flowed.

Millions of living beings died in a span of a few hours.

This scene seemed as if the entire world was filled with bad karma and the aura of death.

At this point, a severed limb holding a sword landed on the ground from faraway, the sword directly piercing into the earth.

*Bang!*

Not too far from the place where the limb landed, a loud sound echoed through the horizon as a bloody figure appeared amidst the rising dust, lying in a crater formed upon the impact of his crash. His hair were disheveled, blood flowing from all over his face.

His legs were nowhere to be found, leaving only a bloody mess behind as he only had a single arm left. A hole pierced through his chest, his breathing unsteady as if he was going to die at any moment.

He was actually Cao Ran!

His eyes were fixated on the firmament above, filled with horror as if he was looking at the end of his fate.

Suddenly, two figures appeared in the sky above, one of a man and another of a woman, high and mighty but with a demonic presence, looking down at him.

These people were none other than Kong Junyu and Qiao Lan!

Kong Junyu held a black sword in his hand, its blade glistening with the blood of countless beings it had just slaughtered, the same blade which disarmed Cao Ran of his sword.

"Y..you...what are y-you? Why have you come here...and why are you causing chaos in the mortal world..?"

Cao Ran asked, his left hand on his chest as his voice barely escaped his mouth, making him choke on air.

Even now, his eyes were still filled with horror, as if he had just witnessed the birth of a taboo creature who should not exist in the world by any means.

Looking at the terrified Cao Ran, an eerie smile creeper up to Kong Junyu’s face.

Qiao Lan flinched upon seeing him like this.

She did not have any reactions when Kong Junyu slaughtered all those cities and towns, killing tens of millions of living beings all for his own benefits.

However, even she had goosebumps seeing him in his current condition.

He may not notice because of his obsession with power, but the others around him noticed.

His face had grown more pale than before, and he barely looked human right now. With that creepy smile on his face, he seemed no different than those Demons depicted in ancient writings, even more terrifying than Demons commonly seen.

"Why...you ask?" He spoke up, his voice deep and bone chilling, his expression returning to being extremely cold, an ominous pressure descending down the sky as dark clouds hovered above, threatening to fall down at any moment given.

"Because the cultivation world caused the death of all my loved ones. I must settle this debt with the cultivation world of the Second Great Mortal World, only then will I be able to ascend. Especially the righteous path." Saying this, Kong Junyu raised the black sword in his hand as a grim, dark Sword Intent poured out of it.

"Hmph..! You may k-kill me here, however...the Qingyun Sword Sect won’t ever l-let you go..my death means nothing if it can be used for a g..greater cause such as the eradication of a vile being who has brought forth immense grief to the innocents such as yourself...killing countless for selfish reasons and calling it revenge is pure h..hypocrisy."

Cao Ran spoke, gasping heavily. He really did not care if he died, but he wanted to bring justice to all those innocent mortals and other creatures who died in this battle and even before by Kong Junyu’s hands.

That was why he was speaking so much as to distract Kong Junyu from detecting him trying to slowly spread out the remains of his Divine Sense to the Communication Jade sprawled just a few meters away from him.

He or the other Sword Guardians may not be able to defeat him, but what about the Peak Masters themselves? What about the Sect Master, or even the Supreme Elder himself?

They could surely avenge both him and the countless others who died in vain, right?

With this hope in mind, he was trying to drag on this conversation as long as possible.

"Ha...Qingyun Sword Sect? I’ll trample on your high and mighty Qingyun Sword Sect sooner or later." Kong Junyu said in a mocking tone of voice, his Sword Intent aiming at Cao Ran.

"Hmph...you’ll die a painful death with no one to weep for y-"

*Swoosh!*

Before Cao Ran could finish speaking, an extremely powerful, dark Sword Qi aiming straight for him descended from the sky, directly tearing apart his body into unrecognizable pieces of meat as it also instantly shattered the Communication Jade lying nearby into pieces.
