Chapter 1815: Chapter 1814 - The Spirit World is Disturbed

A golden sky surrounded a single planet. A storm was never ending above it where portals opened and vague figures appeared and vanished into. Sometimes they were far more solid and sent to very specific destinations.

The world was not constant. It was always shifting its landscape and always in motion. At its heart was a solid core of yin and yang that was the source of all things.

There had always been chaos but it still had a kind of order to it. It had been the place behind all realms and worlds.

Only twice had there been disturbances.

The first had been the violation by the Great One. The crime had been so heinous that the entire Celestial race paid for it as well. The threat had been horrifying and thus the spirits had begun actively trying to find a way to fix it.

That led to the next disturbance. An impossible man. A human that became a dragon and defied all logic. He had lived so many lifetimes without knowing until he became a miracle incarnate.

He had made a body for himself in the spirit world of all things and proceeded to partially alleviate the threat.

He had confronted the first violator as well at that moment. It had been a horrifying moment and a hopeful one.

Now, things were on a knife edge. The Divine Lands and the realms beneath it were unaware of the war outside. There was some protection beyond that now as well thanks to the inner being resolved.

It would be harder but not impossible for the nightmare to come back.

Suddenly, the golden sky shimmered and a clanging sound of a bell was heard. A new Mystery had been condensed!

It was rare now, but then something shocking occurred. An action that had been decided was suddenly in flux! It was also not breaking the rules!

The spirits were disturbed until an older woman appeared.

[Calm yourselves. It is him. He will not hurt us.] She was ancient. She rarely appeared but the younger spirits went back to what they were doing as they needed to get back to work.

An old man appeared next to her but hid his arrival. The pair looked far beyond the world and the man frowned.

[He has done something again. It is dangerous.] The old woman rolled her eyes.

[You are too worried. He has done so much to repair and restore what we lost. What he has done is well within the rules. Would it be so bad?] The man turned to her and his power, equal to hers, caused a ripple briefly.

The younger spirits became worried until the old woman calmed them. She glared at him and he looked apologetic.

[If he succeeds, it could unravel all the healing.] She then exerted her own will. The old man flinched as it did not even cause a shake! [Tell me I am wrong?!]

She then waved her hand and a ball of energy appeared. If Lind was there, he would recognize it as his newly formed layer!

She studied it and slowly smiled before passing it to her counterpart.

He frowned but then a look of shock passed over him.

He then expanded the small sphere and he looked at it in awe.

[What kind of monster have we birthed?] She laughed but then contemplated it more deeply. Lind Frey was a monster no matter who she looked at it. They had allowed it.

It took a monster to stop a monster, but the threat was not over. Both of them looked beyond the spirit world and saw a horrifying world burning beyond theirs.

Whole existences were being burned and created to hold the original Great One at bay. His power was terrifying.

They had died to him so many times and now hope was all they had left. As if to mock them, his pure white eyes looked down at them.

{He cannot save you! I will come!}

Another Eternal was consumed. The pair shivered and looked away. It was hard to say what they expected but a new Mystery and a lot of Origin Mysteries had never been in a single being.

[Should we interfere?] The old man asked and the old woman honestly had no answer.

Slowly, she shook her head.

[He is already beyond us. He has a harmony that should not exist and would resist us. We live or die in his current incarnation. There is nothing–] The pair froze as they felt something.

The spirit world shook and began to expand!

Neither could explain it until they stretched out their aura. They saw the once ravaged foundation was fully repaired!

How?!

They vanished and appeared in the core of all existence. There were no more cracks and both could see emerald energies flowing away into all worlds.

Neither could explain it! It was not an action from Lind Frey but from the Mystery he had condensed! It had stabilized and caused it!

Why?!

The old man suddenly began to laugh. His age fell away and a young man now stood in his place. The old woman was the same. She was now a supple young woman with straight white hair.

They were beautiful but not unreachable. The pair began to cry as they relished the return of their full power. The barrier around their worlds increased in power a thousand fold!

Hope did not just bloom, it took root and they cheered Lind Frey on!

[Can we help him?] The young man changed his question but the woman waved him off.

[We could not imagine this. Leave it to him. We must return to our place.] He nodded and they merged with the yin and yang core. The newly restored foundation was an opportunity and they took advantage.

Lind Frey was one thing, but preparing for the worst would help them survive. He had given them that chance and they would not waste it.

A young demoness woke from a pleasant dream. She could not remember any of it yet the smile would not fade. She was in a small village on the outskirts of a human empire.

They were tolerant of other races but the Sky Realm was the limit of their world. She felt that was too weak but could not put a finger on why.

She was only 12 yet her imagination was second to none. It had started in her childhood but her artistic skill was unusual for a warrior. She had felt like she had been born with swords in her hands and a brush in her heart.

She had made portraits of her family and landscapes but lately she was obsessed with legends. Rocs, phoenixes, and other beasts had inspired her, yet dragons had eluded her.

None of them ever felt right. She would try and start from one of the stories her father read to them all and frowned. It was wrong!

A red scaled beast breathing fire over a city sounded so impressive but she found it wanting.

She then heard of several other types but each time she could not even start. Black, blue, or white scales were all wrong. Her brothers picked on her yet they used her to make portraits of their crushes to present to them when they wished!

Now, she felt inspired. A blank canvas was always ready for her as inspiration could always strike at any time.

She looked at the colors available and frowned once more. They were not enough! She summoned a servant and asked for some materials to crush into what she needed. They were not expensive so it was fine.

She then carefully mixed and produced what she needed. It shimmered in the vial and it was perfect! She began to paint like she was possessed.

She had never felt so sure of something in her life!

A massive sinuous body. There were 3 horns, massive fangs, and a mane extending all along its back. The massive claws ended in golden claws. It covered the sky yet its emerald eyes were kind.

It was not the destroyer of cities or the kidnapper of maidens. She felt it in her soul.

Beneath that dragon she painted a man. His handsome visage was made up of jade skin, long emerald hair, and the same eyes. His crimson, black, and gold robes had a crane in flight on them.

Tears began to form out of nowhere. She had no idea why but she was both happy and very sad. The light of dawn broke through her window at that moment as the painting dried.

She saw that the dragon and man were the same being. She knew it in her heart.

"Oy! Cynti! I heard you put the poor maids to work last night again!" A brash well muscled demon walked in and froze. His dark crimson eyes saw her crying and looked at the painting.

If her other works were considered master pieces, the current one put them all to shame! Even he, just seeing it, felt the power of the figure in the canvas.

"What–what is that?" He stumbled over his words but she looked up at him. Her virulent yellow eyes puffy and she smiled.

"A wonderful dream. I wish I was still there!" He sighed but his sister’s skill was undeniable.

"Will you–?" He did not even finish when she moved like lightning and covered it.

"MINE!" That was new but he simply shook his head. So be it.

His sister was always talented in swords and painting. If she wanted to keep one, who was he to judge?
