Chapter 3686: A Divine Attack

As Liz took her chance with the stone guardian, Alex leaned toward Ronron, asking her some questions.

"Why did you hold back?" he asked her first.

Everyone who watched her fight had seen that she had given it her all, but for anyone who knew Ronron, it was clear that she had held back.

Alex didn’t believe Ronron had any chance at winning against the stone guardian even if she gave her everything, but the fact that she didn’t even try that confused him a little.

"I can’t use my Space Daos. They will start making connections," Ronron said quietly.

"You’re afraid of being found out?" Alex asked her.

"Not... really. But master told me to keep a low profile so I don’t have to deal with others who might only fawn over me or target me relentlessly," Ronron said.

"That’s what I’m here for, aren’t I?" Alex asked. "I’m going to stop them from coming after you."

"Yes, but I don’t want to deal with that right from the get-go. I would rather spend my first few years in here without much attention. If I do get it afterward, then I have nothing to say."

Alex had no reason to not accept her words. He nodded and let her be.

Liz fought in the sky, using Twilight, the blood-refined sword with a handle in the shape of an hourglass. Alex had made the sword for her back before the war against the Dragon Emperor, and she had continued using it until now.

Liz fought with the thin sword, using it to deal attacks that one couldn’t easily stop. She used her Time Dao during the fight to allow her to dodge attacks, but beyond that, there wasn’t much she could do with it.

Liz ended up losing the battle in the end, not because she was attacked, but because her attacks did nothing to the stone guardian. If she ever had the same technique as what Ronron did, she would’ve likely won.

Liz returned to the group and sighed. "That thing really is impossible to beat," she said, but she didn’t look as disappointed as Alex might’ve expected her to be. It was clear that she understood that she was going to fail the battle no matter what, so there was no point in mulling over the result.

Alex nodded. "Alright, since we’re done, we should be leaving," he said. "I want to check out this green location and see what is up with that."

One of the star’s points glowed with a saturated green color, which likely meant that the next trial for a star was close by. Alex could see a few people in a certain location, which could likely be it.

Helen turned toward the stone guardian and then back toward him. "Are we really going to skip out on 30 stars?" she asked.

Alex shrugged. "What else can we do? It’s a little unfair if I or senior Battlesage were to fight, and since we’re not fighting, we’re already done."

"Why would it be unfair?" Helen asked. "It’s not like you two aren’t still Immortal cultivators. Just because you managed to push your body cultivation to the Divine realm doesn’t mean you two aren’t part of the group that joined this secret realm. If you were, you would’ve never been allowed inside in the first place."

Alex tried to argue against his mother, but what she said was in fact true, so he couldn’t say anything at all. He looked toward the stone guardian, who had started fighting some other person, and then back at Battlesage.

"Do you wish to challenge the thing, senior?" Alex asked.

Battlesage nodded a little, but not fully. "I think you should do it. You need those stars after all. Maybe you could give some to them after you win, although I’m not sure if sharing is allowed or not."

Alex supposed that was true. He took a deep breath and let out a sigh. "Alright, I’ll do it then."

Ronron happily cheered for him as he walked over to the registration stone and stood in a queue of a few people who were there for the same reason. After some time passed, he finally got to stand upon it.

Just before he could step forward, however, the aura in the surroundings changed to a dangerous level in an instant. Before he even realized what was happening, he arrived back before Ronron and the rest, standing guard.

But it soon became clear that the attack had nothing to do with them.

Up in the air, a young woman in a bright red robe floated before the stone guardian, the image of a half-crescent blade large enough for everyone to see.

"What’s that?" Battlesage asked in confused surprise.

"A Spirit," Alex said slowly. "A Saber Spirit."

A Spirit in and of itself wasn’t that unnatural inside of the secret realm, as there had to be thousands of people in the Immortal Spirit realm. However, what wasn’t as natural was the aura the current Spirit gave.

The aura the woman gave off at the moment was the aura of a Divinity.

"She’s using Divine Qi," Liz said finally as she too realized what was happening.

"Is she a Divinity?" Battlesage asked. "How could she use Divine Qi inside this— oh, wait. I see."

As someone not used to the cultivators, the old man hadn’t realized until that very moment that people in the Immortal Spirit realm could start converting a portion of their Qi into Divine Qi. The stronger a person’s cultivation base, the higher the amount of Divine Qi they had.

Alex could not tell at the moment just what cultivation base the woman had. But however much it was, it had to be high enough for her to so freely use her Divine Qi.

Adding the Divine Qi into her attack using her Saber Spirit, the woman threw a crescent-shaped attack at the guardian, and the guardian failed to block an attack for the first time ever.

The attack cut through it like butter, utterly destroying the entire thing.

The stone guardian was finally taken down.
