Chapter 2172: Chapter 2172: Dark Elves Without Side Effects

The underground world is currently witnessing an unprecedented war.

A large number of undead creatures have thoroughly surrounded several cities, but among the undead, there exists a group of dark elves. The cities ahead are all made of special wood.

However, the adversaries aren’t elves but rather a group of lizardmen with green skin and scales on their bodies.

"It’s you ugly black-skinned freaks again, and you’ve brought these disgusting things with you. You’ll turn into one of them yourselves, won’t you?" said a tall lizardman with a face full of disgust.

"You repulsive creatures, hurry up and die."

The dark elf, labeled as a freak, wore a look of fury and swung a sword at the opponent. A black blade imbued with a red glow flashed swiftly, and the lizardman showed no reluctance to retaliate.

With a swing and a block from a peculiar axe in his hand, a terrifying surge exploded forth.

In truth, while the dark elves indeed have very dark skin, it’s nonsense to say they’re ugly. Their aesthetic appreciation is distinct from that of ordinary intelligent beings; they rather admire the kind with full-body scales.

Those with very smooth skin, in their eyes, are all a bunch of freaks.

The dark elves don’t care much about that. As elves, they’re inherently synonymous with beauty. If these creatures dare to call them ugly, they’re courting death. Moreover, this time, their intention is to annihilate them; if disobedient, these tier-eight creatures can just be eliminated.

The battle erupted directly, without much semblance of a reason. This is the underground world, where fights and wars are very straightforward for survival and strength enhancement.

No bizarre reasons are needed. Often, it’s enough to strike just because one dislikes another’s appearance.

Not to mention, due to close proximity, the relationship between dark elves and lizardmen is quite poor, and calling them ancient foes would not be incorrect. Upon meeting, naturally, much consideration isn’t needed.

Precisely knowing this, the lizardmen did not intend to give the dark elves any respect, nor did they plan to compromise. Even if the opponent was stronger, they themselves were not weak.

However, what the lizardmen didn’t anticipate was that the dark elves were not merely here to attack but to completely annex them. Or rather, it’s Du You who wants to annex them.

The mighty figures hidden among the undead, the lizardmen hadn’t sensed them all, otherwise, they would’ve never provoked the opponent like this.

With the fight commencing, the ancient foes directly clashed, one wielding an axe, the other using a long sword, furiously pitting against each other in mid-air. But as the battle raged on, the lizardmen noticed something was amiss.

Curses covered their body, and the lizardmen leader was constantly using powerful vital energy to resist.

Normally, after such prolonged fighting, the opponent would’ve turned red-eyed and become a killing machine, incapable of using magic. But today, despite the lengthy combat, the opponent remained clear-headed, continuing to use all sorts of magic and curses to wear them down, and their attacks remained as crafty.

Knowing well that madness brought on by dark elves was nothing to fear. Though swift, elves lacked in strength, and the lizardmen leader, with formidable defense, would always end up with a stalemate after fierce battles.

The dark elves’ killer intent, and its effect on themselves, was all too familiar to the lizardmen.

Yet today, the opponent was behaving peculiarly. Continuing like this, the leader feared misfortune awaited. The lizardmen are somewhat knowledgeable about the dark elves, aware of their abilities.

Being able to maintain clarity meant they’d avoid a direct clash. With their speed boost, only themselves would be attacked, and the opponent’s consumption was far less than theirs. Additionally, the continued magical attacks meant that to counterbalance, they had to expend more energy. If this persisted, endurance was futile.

With their tribe behind them, even fleeing wasn’t feasible. The underground world demanded a tribe for survival; without them, living became tremendously difficult, even for an eighth-tier.

Furthermore, fleeing was no easy task. Their assistant and the other two eighth-tier powerhouses were respectively entangled with another dark elf and an undead.

From the remaining eighth-tier dark elves, one was unseen; unaware, the lizardmen leader thought another hid in the shadows.

If they struck, the result would be catastrophic, potentially putting their own life at risk.

The longer the battle continued, the lizardman leader grew increasingly alarmed, uncertain of what action to take.

Suddenly, a breach opened in the city below. It turned out the opponent used the siege-specialized undead, even their specially-crafted walls couldn’t withstand.

With the city walls breached, hordes of undead creatures surged in, commencing a massacre against their soldiers. In close combat, they realized their powerful forces were no match for the undead.

Even their proud scales offered no defense against the skeletons’ bone swords.

These elite undead displayed alarmingly high power, each one above tier-four, all exuding intense death aura that affected them even with blocked attacks.

"Damn." Distracted, the lizardman leader’s arm was slashed by a sword, terrifying killer qi spread unchecked, and it wasn’t the dark elf being affected but himself.

"How did you manage to imbue your killer intent into your weapons without being influenced yourself?"

"Hmph, such a secret will never be disclosed to you. Your end has come." scoffed the dark elf, recalling past experiments that sent shivers down her spine.

Living in the shadows, she’d never want to endure it again; it’d be less painful to die.

The damned foe dared to expose her scars; she must kill him. As killer qi affected, the lizardman leader’s mental state deteriorated, their murderous intent intensified.

With ongoing combat, the leader forgot their technique and hadn’t considered escaping. The dark elf realized what state she’d been in when influenced by killer qi.

She knew their enemy was likely mocking her, as her power was poorly wielded.
