Chapter 80: Chapter 6: The Hostile Guild Appears! Rosaline: Give Me Three Minutes to Finish Them
Before long, the Law Enforcement Knights had all gathered, but their faces were etched with disappointment. Clearly, they hadn’t found any clues and could only return empty-handed.
When Pastor Tiriel saw this, a smug smile flashed across his face. With the Light Cultists running interference, the Law Enforcement Knights naturally wouldn’t dare act rashly toward the Statue of the God of Light.
Therefore, even if they continued their search, it was unlikely they would discover the secrets hidden within the Bright Church.
At that very moment!
BOOM!
A tremendous crash echoed out as the Statue of the God of Light instantly shattered, plunging the entire Bright Church into chaos.
"What on earth happened?"
"Who has the audacity to shatter the statue of the God of Light?"
"Bastard! Who was it! This is blasphemy against the God of Light!"
"..."
The angry voices of the Light Cultists echoed through the Bright Church as they all condemned the unknown culprit.
At the same time, the Law Enforcement Knights discovered the entrance to a secret chamber at the base of the Statue of the God of Light.
"Quick! There’s a secret chamber here, go in and search it!"
Hearing the Law Enforcement Knight’s shout, Pastor Tiriel’s expression instantly turned grim. He knew that even though the secret chamber had been cleaned out, preventing the Law Enforcement Knights from finding any clues, the mastermind behind this had surely discovered his deeply hidden secret.
Pastor Tiriel’s thoughts raced. The faces of those who had been in contact with the victim flashed through his mind—the Law Enforcement Knights and those Adventurers!
A vicious glint appeared in his eyes. ’My mind is made up.’
’I have to kill him!’
Meanwhile, Su Xuan and his party were already far from the clamor of the Bright Church.
Ivsha looked at Su Xuan worriedly, finally unable to hold back. "Mr. Su Xuan," she asked, "we destroyed the statue of the God of Light. If Sister Kelly finds out, I’ll definitely be sentenced to penance!"
For a Nun of the Bright Church Court, such an act was tantamount to declaring war on the Church Court itself!
Su Xuan smiled faintly and reassured her, "Don’t worry, the God of Light won’t care about such trivial matters. If you really feel guilty, just pray a little longer tonight. Show the Holy Light your sincerity and repentant heart."
"What a marvelous idea~ In that case, I’ll look forward to Mr. Su Xuan’s Holy Light shining down on me for a long, long time~"
Su Xuan gave a wry smile. ’Did I just set myself up for that?’
Just moments before, he had been the one to have Ivsha detonate the Statue of the God of Light.
Of course, Ivsha had only succeeded in detonating the Statue of the God of Light thanks to the Law Enforcement Knights keeping Pastor Tiriel busy. As the law enforcement agency of the Star Kingdom, they had no love for a group of believers from the Sun Sect Country.
As an Adventurer assisting them in their investigation, Su Xuan was naturally welcomed with open arms and received their full cooperation. However, they never in their wildest dreams imagined that Su Xuan would actually destroy the Statue of the God of Light!
And while they were secretly thrilled, the agitated Light Cultists were giving them quite a headache!
Furthermore, Su Xuan’s suspicion was confirmed: there really was a secret chamber hidden beneath the Statue of the God of Light. Although it was still unclear whether this chamber would provide any useful clues, its very existence would undoubtedly leave certain people feeling deeply unsettled.
"Now then~"
Su Xuan first took Ivsha and the others back to the Guild. Now, all he had to do was bide his time until he could catch his intended target.
......
「Late at night.」
A figure slipped silently into the Blue Moon City hospital—it was none other than Pastor Tiriel!
As he entered, he deliberately sprinkled some liquid around the premises, seemingly to create some kind of disorienting effect.
After doing all this, Pastor Tiriel headed straight for the victim’s hospital room.
When he arrived at the room, his icy gaze fell upon the woman lying quietly on the hospital bed. "You can’t be allowed to live!" he said coldly.
With that!
He pulled out a dagger, ready to strike.
However, just as he was about to strike, a flash of cold steel glinted, and a longsword sliced cleanly through Pastor Tiriel’s right arm.
"How is this possible!?"
Pastor Tiriel clutched his severed arm in terror, staggering backward.
’His heart pounded. A trap!’
’This is a trap?’
"Rosaline, you held back?"
The casual dialogue drifted to Pastor Tiriel’s ears, piercing his heart like a cold blade.
"I had to ensure the strike wouldn’t harm the patient in the room," Rosaline’s voice was as placid as still water, as if she were discussing something utterly mundane.
"Always so precise!" Su Xuan exclaimed. His gaze then shifted to Pastor Tiriel, a glint of killing intent in his cold eyes. "So, you came after all. What, planning to silence a witness?"
Pastor Tiriel’s face went deathly pale. He stared wide-eyed at Su Xuan, anger and terror warring in his expression. "Damn it! It really was you!"
"I’ll get you for this!"
Pastor Tiriel understood his situation. He knew he had no hope of fighting back; his only option was to escape. He spun around and bolted for the door, desperate to flee the dangerous trap.
But just as he was about to cross the threshold, he found his feet caught in the tight grip of Golden tendrils, rendering him immobile.
"Pastor Tiriel, you will pay for your crimes with your life!" Ivsha said, emerging slowly with an icy expression.
"You damned Nun!" Pastor Tiriel’s eyes were bloodshot, his rage erupting like a volcano.
"Finish him!"
Not wanting to waste any more time, Su Xuan ordered Rosaline to cut Pastor Tiriel down.
Rosaline took a single step, and a wave of Sword Qi, like cascading moonlight, rushed toward Pastor Tiriel.
"Aaargh!"
With a bloodcurdling scream, Pastor Tiriel’s body collapsed into a pool of blood. But the moment he died, his body dissolved into a streak of Golden light and shot away.
"An item to block a fatal blow! After him!"
Su Xuan reacted instantly. An item that negated a fatal blow must have activated. They had to catch him before he got away.
In an instant, Pastor Tiriel had leaped out of the hospital and was sprinting toward the Bright Church. He was covered in blood and missing an arm, but he was using a Light Secret Technique to desperately cling to his tattered life.
"Damn it! Damn it! Damn it!" Pastor Tiriel’s roars echoed through the air. He had never imagined he would be reduced to such a pathetic state!
He looked toward the Bright Church, now just a kilometer away, and a smile crept onto his face, as if salvation itself were beckoning him.
’If I can just make it to the Bright Church, I’ll have a chance...’
"You’re not getting away!"
Suddenly, the sky darkened. A figure descended from the heavens, plummeting like a falling star to land beside Pastor Tiriel. With a flash of cold light, a sword plunged through his body, pinning him to the earth.
"AARGH!"
Pastor Tiriel cried out in agony, his voice choked with despair and terror. He stared, wide-eyed, at Rosaline, a tide of fear overwhelming him.
Her six glowing blue wings shimmered in the moonlight, exuding a mysterious power from another world.
Pastor Tiriel couldn’t help but wonder, ’Is this woman before me even human?’
"President, save me!" he screamed hoarsely, stretching out a hand to plead for help from his President.
However, the moment the words left his lips, several figures emerged swiftly from the Bright Church.
"Tiriel, you’ve failed again! Why must you always fail? You’re useless!" a short-haired man berated Pastor Tiriel in a low voice.
Su Xuan narrowed his eyes, his gaze sweeping over the five Adventurers behind the man. They were all level 20 or higher, but that was the extent of it.
He asked Rosaline softly, "Can you take them?"
Rosaline simply replied, "Give me three minutes to finish them."
