Ye Nai had chosen portable cannons as the weapons in her Space, which were originally intended for delivery to this camp - a fortunate coincidence.
But it’s too dangerous to bring her into the camp now, so she could only hope that the camp’s weapons were still sufficient.
While distributing weapons, Ye Nai also released a large number of superpower spores, letting them ride the night wind to the furthest distance she could command before dispersing and falling among the spider hordes.
Having never seen a mutant beast spider, Ye Nai didn’t know if they had lungs in their respiratory systems, but her purpose was to let the spores scout ahead; if the spiders had a tracheal respiratory system, they were as good as dead.
Minutes later, the appearance of a gigantic spider mountain in the Fungal Space announced the good news – each spider was larger than the dining table for six at her home.
Many spiders died with their eyes wide open, their eyeballs bulging out so much that it would make one’s scalp tingle just by looking.
No wonder the frontline camp struggled to fight such monsters, their shells were too hard to penetrate; one had to either bombard them with cannons or rely on close-quarters combat from Combat System Awakeners.
Fortunately, there was another way to kill them – they had a tracheal respiratory system, and maybe even lungs, but that would require dissection to confirm.
Ye Nai wasn’t interested in researching or dissecting them; as long as she could exploit their respiratory system to deal with these giant spiders, that was enough.
She ordered the Fungal Mycelium to preserve the valuable parts from the spiders – their hard shells, spider legs, poison teeth, Poison Bags, silk glands – and to decompose everything else within the body, retaining the Heart Cores if present.
The clean meat that could be harvested from the spiders was found in their legs, tasty like crab legs, and incredibly expensive on the market due to the great difficulty in hunting these enormous creatures.
Ye Nai continuously released spores to intercept the giant spiders from afar. She didn’t attack the spiders that had entered the range of the frontline camp, only targeting those yet to join the fray.
The giant spiders in the back fell like wheat before the scythe, dying in batches, and the Fungal Space soon piled up with spider mountains.
An unending stream of giant spiders kept coming, and Ye Nai killed them ceaselessly.
Although it felt gratifying to kill so many, the more she killed, the stranger it seemed. With the number of dead spiders piling up and their continued onslaught, she wondered if someone had raided their nest?
If that were true, then the brave soul who plundered the spider nest must be hiding in the military barracks, bringing trouble to the camp after getting in over their head. Were it not for their delivery today, would the frontline camp not have perished in the jaws of the mutant beast spiders?
The giant spiders couldn’t breach Ye Nai’s defense, and the frontline camp’s fighting pressure also decreased accordingly. Of course, the warriors thought that the giant spiders were finally retreating and that the battle would end once the current enemies were defeated.
When Ye Nai realized that the spiders might have a nest in the direction they came from, she purposefully released more spores that sank into the soil and directed the Fungal Mycelium to grow toward the source. Her intent was to find and clean out the spider nest and see what valuable things the person who discovered it had picked up.
The Fungal Mycelium growing in the soil released spores that either grew into new mycelium, forming a fungal defense line to block the great spiders, or were carried by the wind into the spiders, killing them suddenly.
In any case, the pressure on the frontline camp was relieved, and from the warriors’ perspective, the lack of new giant spiders appearing made them believe the threat was retreating, and that they could end the fight once they dealt with the spiders currently before them.
The walkie-talkie strapped to the logistics team members who stayed with Ye Nai crackled to life with the voice of the battalion commander announcing that the fight was nearly over and instructing them to drive to the camp to regroup.
Fortunately, many had stayed behind, and apart from Ye Nai, who couldn’t drive, everyone else sped towards the camp in their vehicles.
As soon as Ye Nai opened the car door and before getting out, she smelled the blood. With a flick of her wrist, a large wave of spores flew out, dispersing into everyone’s bodies, healing the wounded and invigorating the uninjured.
Ye Nai hadn’t even seen the condition of the injured before logistics took her to the warehouse to hand over supplies.
After unloading the last batch of goods, her mission was successfully completed, but the convoy’s duty would only end after they took her out of the Secret Realm.
Stepping out of the warehouse, Ye Nai noticed that the atmosphere in the camp had eased considerably from before.
"Is the battle over?"
"It’s over, thankfully there weren’t many giant spiders, or we’d have been in big trouble, and we would’ve had to abandon the camp and evacuate."

"Glad it’s nothing serious. I was waiting outside and couldn’t make it over, worried that the fight might be too intense and whether you would have enough ammo."
"Haha, thanks for caring."
Ye Nai didn’t ask how so many giant spiders ended up attacking the camp. She would listen to gossip if someone else brought it up but wouldn’t inquire on her own. Her curiosity wasn’t that strong; she wasn’t the type to live off gossip like a melon-eating spectator.
Nevertheless, her spores had flown around the camp and settled in the medical ward. According to the feedback from the Fungal Mycelium, several heavily injured warriors were on the verge of a mental collapse.
This indirectly confirmed Ye Nai’s suspicion; someone had lured the giant spiders to this frontline camp. If she hadn’t used her spores to hold back the spiders, the camp would have either been wiped out or forced to abandon and evacuate everyone.
Now it was a matter of waiting to see if the extended Fungal Mycelium could bring her some good news about the spider nests before she left the next day.
The whole camp was now busy cleaning the battlefield, tallying the spoils, and taking care of the injured. Ye Nai didn’t need much looking after. She was taken to the dormitory where she comfortably spent time alone, even preparing her meals without needing a call for dinner.
She hadn’t eaten many of the signature dishes she’d bought from the Trotter Noodle Shop in the urban village of Anyuan City yet.
She took out her laptop, searched the film disk for an action-comedy flick, and watched it while eating.
The film disk was a portable hard drive she had bought separately when buying the computer. It had a 1TB capacity filled with a variety of categorized films, TV series, animated series, documentaries, etc., all older content, even some from before the war. The age didn’t matter; as long as the story was good, she could even glimpse what society was like before the war from the films.
Late in the evening, a team member came knocking on Ye Nai’s door to inform her about the departure time the next morning. Captivated by her large computer desk and the movie, he couldn’t stir himself to leave. Ye Nai simply invited him to watch together, and the two of them munched on snacks and sipped drinks while laughing heartily.
Their laughter spilled into the hallway, attracting many others. Soon, her small dormitory was crowded with people. Within two minutes, the camp’s signalman had come with an empty hard drive to copy the entire contents of Ye Nai’s disk.
They had just experienced a fierce battle that day, and watching a film proved to be a good way to help everyone relax and serve as psychological healing.
The next day, early in the morning before the alarm went off, Ye Nai awoke.
In the span of one night, the Fungal Mycelium had followed the direction of energy in the soil and found the spider nests. Inside the Fungal Space, there were piles of spider egg sacs, each wrapped in spider silk. At first glance, they looked like silkworm cocoons but were much larger in size.
There were also many new colossal spider mounds and several spider behemoths.
