Chapter 723: Can We Take Him Home With Us?
A few hours later...
"All done." Lily smiled as she tightened Dim Dim’s bow tie. "Alright! How does he look, Alex?"
"Cute," Alex replied.
The little bun was no longer a little bun.
He was now a cute little boy who looked roughly nine to ten years old.
At first, Alex didn’t know why Dim Dim had planned to buy a tuxedo. After all, a bun couldn’t put them on. But when the Dim Sum God suddenly transformed into his human form, everything finally clicked.
Dim Dim had short silver hair similar to Alex, while the color of his eyes was golden. He was actually quite handsome. Though, since he was still young, calling him "cute" was also a very apt way to describe him.
"And now, for the finishing touch." Cupid lightly placed the tuxedo hat on Dim Dim’s head, completing his formal wear.
The Dim Sum God then looked at the mirror, looking at his reflection.
"Do you like what you see, Dim Dim?" Lily asked.
"Dim Dim!" Dim Dim replied.
Alex chuckled. Although Dim Dim’s form was now human-like, the way it talked still hadn’t changed a bit.
Fortunately, Lily gently reminded her friend that he should speak like a human because it would be weird if he kept on saying "Dim" while he was at the party.
Although people could still understand him, it would be weird for a little boy to communicate in that manner.
"Is this better?" Dim Dim spoke softly.
"Much better." Lily nodded before hugging him from behind and planting a kiss on his cheek. "You look so cute, Dim Dim!"
Alex nodded in agreement. The cute boy looked really good in his tuxedo. Anyone who had an ounce of maternal instinct in them would want to protect his smile. As well as his bun-like cheeks.
In fact, he could already imagine his lovers rushing to hug Dim Dim to oblivion the moment they saw him.
"Well then. Time for me to leave!" Lily said before winking at Cupid. "You handle the rest here, okay?"
"Yes, Ma’am!" Cupid saluted.
They already had a plan in mind. While Cupid looked after Dim Dim, Lily would go find Eiko and also give her a glow up, just like what they did to their little friend.
While Dim Dim was being cared for by the two Gods, Alex had also made his own preparations.
He had already taken a bath earlier and wore the clothes meant for the party. His natural hair style was already fine, but he had a feeling that Lotte would come find him sooner or later so that she could fix her hair.
Actually, he was already expecting her to appear any moment now.
Yet, for some reason, Lotte and the other Alters hadn’t crossed over to his side since they separated from each other, which was a few hours ago.
’Well, there’s still two hours before the party starts,’ Alex thought. ’She might be busy helping Latifa prepare.’
He didn’t know if the Alters would also participate in the party. There was a good chance that they wouldn’t go or that they would stay invisible the whole time.
The only one who might appear at the party was Lulu because she was a social butterfly.
If she did appear, then there was a good chance that the guys would start hitting on her because she was a gorgeous woman.
Then again, Alex wasn’t too worried about her.
She could handle herself well in any situation, and Latifa would keep an eye out on her so that she wouldn’t do anything reckless.
While Cupid and Dim Dim were chatting, another hour passed by swiftly. That was when Alex heard a knock on the door.
"Who is it?" Alex asked as he moved towards the door.
"It’s me, Lavinia."
"Coming."
When he opened the door, he saw the Catkin wearing a black cocktail dress with a skirt that reached up to her knees.
Usually, Lavinia wore conservative clothes when she was outside the academy. She had never been the type to show too much skin in public.
But now, she was showing off her womanly charms. So much so that Alex’s gaze couldn’t help but land on her cleavage, making the young man subconsciously swallow his saliva.
Seeing his reaction, a small smile appeared on her face.
’It seems like Lulu is right,’ Lavinia thought. ’I’m glad I asked for her help a few days ago.’
"You look lovely, Lavinia," Alex said honestly.
"And you look very handsome, Alex," Lavinia said with a smile. Although the young man was sporting his regular hairstyle, that didn’t change the fact that he was good-looking.
Since he couldn’t possibly let his girlfriend stand outside, he soon invited him inside the room.
That was when Lavinia’s gaze landed on the adorable boy, who was wearing a tuxedo and a black hat.
"Who is this cute boy?" Lavinia had to stop herself from hugging the little boy without consent, unable to restrain herself because of his cuteness.
"He is Dim..." Alex managed to stop himself on time because if he said that the little boy was Dim Dim, then Lavinia might not believe him.
"Dim?" Lavinia blinked.
"D-Dimitri." Alex stuttered. "Yes. He is my cousin, Dimitri."
Lavinia blinked once, then twice, because this was the first time she was meeting one of Alex’s cousins.
However, that didn’t matter right now. At the moment, there was only one thing on her mind and that was...
"Can I hug him?" Lavinia asked.
"Ask him for permission first," Alex replied. "Dim.. Dimitri, would you like to be hugged by Lavinia?"
"Of course," Dim Dim replied before spreading out his arms, as if to tell Lavinia to come closer.
His voice was very cute too, which made Lavinia squeal internally. The young lady didn’t hesitate to hug the boy in return, whom she was meeting for the first time.
"Alex..."
"Yes?"
"Can we take him home with us?" Lavinia asked.
The young man didn’t know if he should come clean and tell Lavinia that the one she was hugging was actually Dim Dim.
However, Cupid warned him to keep this a secret for now.
Fortunately, just as Alex was wondering how he should answer Lavinia’s question, Lotte passed through the wall in order to help Alex fix his hair.
But when she saw Lavinia hugging Dim Dim, her maternal instincts tugged at her heart strings, making her join Lavinia in hugging the little boy as well.
Alex could only smile helplessly because he could already see that Dim Dim would become very popular at the party tonight.
He just wished that the Dim Sum God would be able to keep his act together and avoid saying "Dim Dim" while in his human form.
