Chapter 282: Inferno Tyrant and Ash Monarch! Losing Meant Death!

The moment the Volcano King snapped his fingers, reality itself twisted violently around them. The volcanic world erupted with overwhelming force, and the ground trembled so hard that standing became difficult.

Lava rivers surged upward as though alive.

Ash began falling from the crimson sky in thick clouds. The volcano ahead slowly split apart with a deafening crack, and a roar echoed throughout the entire trial.

Neither Caelus nor Sylvia spoke immediately.

Their instincts were already screaming warnings at them. Something felt fundamentally wrong about this trial, and the pressure in the air became suffocating.

Then, two enormous figures slowly emerged from opposite sides of the battlefield.

Their presence alone made breathing difficult. The surrounding lava recoiled from them as though afraid, and the ground cracked beneath every step they took.

Even the Ancient Dragon God and the Crimson Sovereign became unusually tense.

Caelus observed the bosses with a completely dark look on his face.

"These aren’t ordinary trial monsters," he said carefully.

Sylvia tightened her grip around the Blood Moon Sword.

"Yeah, something seemed different about them."

The first boss was massive, and its body was built entirely from living magma and volcanic rock. Every movement sent waves of heat rippling through the air.

[Formidable Foe: Infernal Tyrant]

That was its name.

Pure overwhelming offense radiated from its form.

It then raised one enormous fist and slammed it into the ground, and the entire battlefield shook.

The second boss appeared beside it with a completely different presence.

Ash and smoke constantly shifted around its body, and burning chains wrapped around its limbs.

[Formidable Foe: Ash Monarch]

Unlike the Infernal Tyrant, it never rushed forward. Instead, it stood perfectly still while observing them.

"Get ready, Sylvia," Caelus exclaimed as his senses alerted him of danger.

And as soon as he spoke, the Infernal Tyrant charged in without warning. Its speed was terrifying for something so massive, and Caelus barely dodged as its fist crashed where he had been standing.

Boom!

A crater formed instantly after the fist crashed onto the ground.

But before he could counter, the Ash Monarch raised both hands, and burning chains erupted from the ground to bind him.

Caelus used Telekinesis to tear them apart.

But the Infernal Tyrant was already attacking again. Magma Lance, its skill, materialized in the air, and multiple spears of molten rock shot toward him from different angles.

"They’re working together, hubby! They have intelligence," Sylvia warned, seeing their coordinated attack.

As she said that, she slashed through several attacks with blood constructs, but more kept coming. The coordination between both bosses was just that perfect.

Caelus immediately began analyzing the situation. He activated Origin Sever and targeted the Infernal Tyrant’s charging ability, and his eyes glowed with draconic light.

The skill connection was severed temporarily for precisely 3 seconds.

But the Ash Monarch responded instantly. Magma Regeneration, one of its skills, activated and healed its partner. The coordination meant defeating one without handling the other was impossible.

"We need to split them up!" Caelus shouted.

He summoned the Ancient Dragon God at full power. The golden dragon manifestation roared as it grabbed the Infernal Tyrant, and Sylvia immediately focused on the Ash Monarch.

The Crimson Sovereign manifested behind her, and black-red lightning crackled across its form as it charged toward the second boss.

But the moment they separated, the Ash Monarch used Lava Prison. Walls of superheated stone erupted and cut off Sylvia’s path, and the Infernal Tyrant broke free.

Everything they tried was countered.

Caelus activated Chaos Erosion by dealing damage.

Dark energy spread across the Infernal Tyrant’s body, and it should have weakened the boss significantly.

However, the Ash Monarch immediately cleansed it with Magma Regeneration.

Sylvia formed massive blood spears using Sanguine Genesis. They pierced toward the Ash Monarch with deadly precision, and the Lightning Attribute enhanced each attack.

The Infernal Tyrant intercepted them and used its body as a shield.

"They’re adapting to everything!" Caelus exclaimed.

The battle continued with increasing intensity.

Caelus used every ability at his disposal, and Star King’s Sword Vault materialized golden swords that rained down on the Ash Monarch.

The Ash Monarch responded with Ash Domain, its third skill.

Thick smoke covered the battlefield, reducing visibility to almost nothing, and the golden swords struck blindly.

He switched tactics immediately.

Star King’s Sword Vault was useless here!

He had to switch to Holy Sword Surge, the skill he got from Fernando from the spatial rift.

He used his cooldown card and equipped Holy Sword Surge as he rushed in.

His speed increased dramatically as he slashed at the Infernal Tyrant. Dozens of cuts appeared across its body, but Magma Regeneration sealed them.

Sylvia eventually activated Origin Blood Blessing. Their attack speeds increased further, and they attacked in perfect coordination from different angles.

But the bosses never separated. Whenever one was pressured, the other immediately created space, and whenever one attacked, the other restricted movement.

The gap between them became more obvious with every exchange.

Time passed as the brutal fight continued without pause. Their bodies began showing signs of exhaustion, and heavy breathing became constant.

Burns covered Caelus’s arms from blocking magma attacks, and cuts appeared across Sylvia’s shoulders where chains had grazed her. Their muscles trembled from sustained combat.

The Blood Moon Sword became stained with both her blood and the bosses’ blood. Every movement required more effort than before, and their reactions slowed by fractions.

The Infernal Tyrant used Volcano Smash, and its fist crashed down with devastating force. Caelus raised both hands and used Telekinesis to redirect the impact.

The shockwave still sent him tumbling backward.

The Ash Monarch immediately followed with Burning Chains, and they wrapped around Sylvia before she could dodge.

She slashed desperately seeing this.

Caelus rushed to help her, and he took a direct hit from Magma Lance to protect her. His HP dropped significantly.

"We can’t keep going like this," Sylvia gasped.

However, the Infernal Tyrant charged again.

This time neither could fully dodge. The attack connected and sent both of them crashing into volcanic rock, and their armor cracked from the impact.

The battle slowly changed from attacking to surviving. Every strategy Caelus created was answered, and every opening Sylvia found disappeared moments later.

Their Aura continued draining with each ability used.

[Aura: 40/40]

Caelus used the Ancient Dragon God to block another combination attack. The golden manifestation absorbed most of the damage, but maintaining it consumed massive amounts of Aura.

[Aura: 35/40]

Sylvia summoned blood constructs repeatedly, and each one drained her reserves further. The Lightning Attribute enhanced her attacks but also increased the cost.

[Aura: 30/40]

The Infernal Tyrant used Infernal Charge. Its entire body ignited as it became a living meteor, and Caelus intercepted it with Holy Sword Surge.

The collision created a massive explosion, and his Aura dropped again from the exertion. He landed hard and breathed heavily.

[Aura: 25/40]

The Ash Monarch took advantage of the opening, and Lava Prison erupted around both of them. The walls closed in from every direction.

Caelus used Telekinesis to tear through them, but breaking multiple walls simultaneously drained even more Aura, and his body felt heavier.

[Aura: 20/40]

Their injuries accumulated with each exchange. Blood dripped from multiple wounds, burns covered exposed skin, and their clothes were torn.

Yet the bosses showed no such weakness. Magma Regeneration kept the Infernal Tyrant at near full strength, and the Ash Monarch never took direct damage.

Caelus activated Origin Sever again and targeted a different ability. This time he severed the Ash Monarch’s Magma Regeneration skill temporarily, and the effect would only last 3 seconds once again.

"Now!" he shouted.

He hoped that they could at least deal enough damage that the boss exhausted its own Mana when it used its Mana Regeneration skill once more.

Sylvia immediately attacked with everything she had. The Crimson Sovereign grew larger as it grabbed the Ash Monarch, and blood constructs pierced its body.

But the Infernal Tyrant retaliated instantly. Molten Explosion, one of its skills, activated. Its entire body erupted in flames, and the shockwave forced Sylvia to release her grip.

Caelus’s and Sylvia’s Aura dropped even further.

[Aura: 15/40]

Gritting his teeth, he used Holy Sword Surge again.

His weapon and body became a blur as he attacked with incredible speed.

Dozens of slashes connected instantly.

But without Origin Sever active, Magma Regeneration healed everything, and his attacks accomplished nothing.

"How much Mana do these two have?" he cursed.

[Aura: 10/40]

Sylvia’s Blood Generation constantly consumed MP. Her reserves were dropping just as fast as Caelus’s Aura, and every blood construct required more effort.

The Infernal Tyrant and Ash Monarch coordinated another ultimate attack. Both raised their hands simultaneously, and the entire battlefield glowed with ominous red light.

This was their strongest combination yet.

Seeing this, Caelus knew they were at the stage.

Caelus gathered everything he had left. The Ancient Dragon God manifested at maximum output, and lightning erupted across his body as he charged forward.

Sylvia followed immediately, and the Crimson Sovereign moved in perfect sync with her. They attacked together with their remaining strength.

The collision was catastrophic. The explosion engulfed half the battlefield, and lava erupted in every direction.

When the smoke cleared, both were on their knees.

[Aura: 5/40]

The bosses still stood completely unharmed. Their regeneration and coordination made them seem invincible, no matter what strategy was used.

"How," Caelus gasped, "how are they still standing? Do they have infinite Mana?"

His vision blurred from exhaustion, and every breath burned. His arms shook just trying to grip Ruyi.

Sylvia forced herself to stand. Her legs trembled violently, and the Blood Moon Sword felt impossibly heavy, but she refused to give up.

They exchanged one look. Neither spoke, but both understood; they would continue until the end.

No.

They had to. Or else it meant death.
