Chapter 279: A Mysterious Man’s Hidden Intentions! We Need to Reach Elite In One Day!

"The man was wearing a really expensive black suit," Candy’s voice came from the other side. "he also had a gold tooth."

"He looked like some rich businessman."

Caelus frowned hearing this, his mind immediately searching through his memories for anyone matching that description, anyone who might have reason to seek him out like this, but nothing came to mind.

He had never met anyone fitting those characteristics.

"Did he leave anything else?" Caelus asked carefully.

Candy shook her head.

"No," she replied simply, "he only asked if I knew someone named Caelus Kross."

"When I asked why," she continued, "he just smiled, then left."

Caelus’s expression became even more serious hearing this, the situation feeling increasingly wrong with every detail Candy revealed, something about this entire encounter didn’t sit right with him.

"If he comes back contact me immediately."

Candy nodded from the other side without hesitation.

"Leave it to me," she replied.

Caelus lowered his head in thought, his mind racing through possibilities.

Who could he be?

He had only visited Candy’s shop once, they had only recently become acquainted through the Rift incident and subsequent events, if someone merely wanted to meet him they could easily find him at the school.

Or ask around New York.

Instead they approached Candy, someone he barely knew outside of recent Domain activities, someone who shouldn’t have been connected to him in any obvious way.

Caelus suddenly stopped walking.

"No," he muttered quietly, his eyes widening slightly as realization struck, "this wasn’t a coincidence."

Sylvia noticed his sudden halt immediately.

"Hubby?" she asked with concern.

Caelus slowly looked ahead, his jaw tightening as the implications became clear in his mind.

"It felt like a warning," he mumbled to himself "as if they were saying ’I know who you are. I know who the people around you are.’"

"As I thought," Caelus continued, his voice becoming darker as he spoke, "Earth is far more dangerous than the Abyss."

The Ender of Life already existed on Earth, Freya had proven that without question, there was no reason another Ender couldn’t exist as well.

Or someone even more terrifying.

"For all I know," Caelus said quietly, his expression grim as he considered the possibilities, "that man could be an Ender."

The thought sent a chill through him.

Sylvia gently grabbed his hand, her touch warm and reassuring despite the situation, she squeezed softly as she looked at him with calm eyes.

"Don’t overthink it," she said gently, her voice steady and comforting, "didn’t you say yourself?"

She smiled slightly.

"Our apartment is safe,"

Caelus thought for a moment, processing her words carefully before slowly nodding in agreement, she was right about that much at least. Their place was safe thanks to the powerhouses around them.

"You’re right," he admitted.

If the mysterious man truly wished to kill them he would’ve already appeared, the fact that he merely searched for Caelus instead of attacking meant something else was going on, something more complex than simple assassination.

Nevertheless the message was clear.

"We don’t have time anymore," Caelus said firmly, his resolve hardening as he made his decision, "we need to become stronger."

Sylvia tilted her head curiously.

"We need to become elite and that too very fast." Caelus clicked his tongue. "If we can do that in one day then its better."

Sylvia froze completely hearing his words.

"One day? hubby, that’s impossible. What are you saying?" Her lips twitched.

Caelus looked toward the horizon, his expression becoming determined as he gazed at the distant skyline of New York, his voice filled with absolute conviction.

"Then we’ll make the impossible possible," he declared. "We need to grind levels fast and reach Elite as soon as possible."

Caelus then opened the Domain application on his phone, scrolling through recent updates and system news.

A particular notification suddenly caught his attention.

[Several new Origin Ascension Servers have officially opened.]

He raised an eyebrow seeing this.

Already?

Origin Servers never followed a fixed schedule, they simply appeared around the world seemingly at random intervals on earth, some speculated they were naturally born phenomena.

Others believed people with the rare Dungeon Master Profession created them.

"Looks like more players have entered the game."

Time passed as evening gradually descended over New York, the familiar Domain notification appeared in their vision.

Caelus and Sylvia entered together without hesitation.

Their figures dissolved into light. Moments later they appeared inside Genesis Town.

The bustling settlement was now officially under Sylvia’s control,.

Non-Players and Players alike moved through the streets conducting business or talking amonst themselves.

They soon made their way to the market via the portal. It was time to visit Mason.

While walking toward Mason’s market stall, Caelus suddenly remembered something important that he had completely forgotten until now, something rather embarrassing considering the circumstances.

"I almost forgot," he said with a slight laugh, shaking his head at his own oversight, "I never officially joined Genesis."

Sylvia giggled hearing this.

"You’re the one who told me to become Town Lord," she teased playfully, her eyes sparkling with amusement, "yet you’re still not a member."

"Fix that for me my cute wife." he replied.

Sylvia opened the Town interface immediately, navigating through the menus as she quickly found the invitation function, her fingers moving swiftly across the holographic display.

[System Notification]

[Town Invitation Received.]

[Town: Genesis]

[Accept?]

Caelus pressed Yes without hesitation.

[System Notification]

[You have joined Genesis.]

Sylvia smiled happily seeing the confirmation.

"Now we’re officially in the same town," she said cheerfully.

After a short silence as they continued walking, Caelus spoke again.

"Sylvia," he began. "let’s visit David Wilson."

Sylvia immediately understood his intention.

"To take his town?" she asked knowingly.

Caelus nodded.

"Exactly," he confirmed.

But before that, they went to meet Mason and officially asked him to join Town Genesis as well. He agreed to it without a single ounce of hesitation.

After that was done, Caelus and Sylvia begin moving towards Caelus’s former town, the one owned by David.

David sat inside his Town Hall, the private administrative building reserved exclusively for Town Lords, his fists repeatedly slamming against the wooden desk in front of him.

"Caelus Kross," he muttered angrily, his voice filled with barely contained rage as memories of his recent humiliation flooded back, "that bastard, he humiliated me."

His face twisted with fury.

"I’ll make him regret it."

Just then a player hurriedly entered the room, bursting through the doors without proper ceremony as though something urgent had occurred, his expression showing clear alarm.

"Town Lord!" the player exclaimed breathlessly, "someone’s looking for—"

Before he could finish his sentence, a golden force suddenly burst into the room with overwhelming power, the doors exploding open violently as splinters of wood flew in every direction.

The doors exploded open with tremendous force, Caelus slowly walked inside with slow steps.

Sylvia followed behind him with a smile.

David immediately stood from his chair.

"You, It’s You! Caelus Kross!" he spat venomously.

Before he could move even a single step, Telekinesis wrapped around his entire body like invisible chains.

The following instant, he was lifted several meters into the air helplessly.

No matter how much he struggled the invisible force refused to release him.

"Put me down!" David shouted angrily.

Caelus smiled faintly, his expression cold and emotionless as he looked up at the suspended David.

"David. the things I’m about to do to you will become the most unforgettable memories of your life."

"Transfer the town," Caelus demanded simply. "Or I’ll do what i just said. Heh."

"Dream on!" he shouted back, his arrogance still intact despite his helpless position, "kill me if you want, I’m never giving it up."

Caelus sighed deeply.

"Wrong answer," he replied.

BANG! BANG! BANG!

Caelus repeatedly slammed David into the walls using Telekinesis, the invisible force smashing him against stone and wood without mercy, each impact sending shockwaves of pain through David’s body.

He constantly suspended him upside down, preventing him from even touching the ground for more than a few seconds at a time, the disorientation and helplessness breaking down his mental state gradually.

Caelus made him experience complete helplessness, stripping away every ounce of control David thought he possessed, every time David refused another punishment immediately followed.

Sylvia remained mostly silent throughout the ordeal, she occasionally reminded David that he brought this upon himself by threatening Caelus first.

After what felt like an eternity of psychological torment, David’s arrogance gradually disappeared completely, replaced by genuine fear and desperation as he realized Caelus had no intention of stopping.

"Stop," David gasped weakly, his voice barely a whisper as his spirit finally broke, "please."

Caelus remained the same.

"Transfer the town," he repeated with the same smile he had.

David hesitated for a long time, his mind racing through every possible option before realizing he had none left, finally his shoulders slumped in complete defeat.

"Fine," he whispered hoarsely, his voice filled with despair as he accepted his fate, "I’ll do it."

David opened the Town Interface with trembling hands, his fingers shaking visibly as he navigated through the menus toward the ownership transfer function, tears of frustration threatened to spill.

He selected Transfer Ownership.

Recipient: Sylvia Reign.

His hand shook violently before finally pressing Confirm, the action feeling like signing away his entire soul as everything he had built crumbled instantly.

[System Notification]

[Town Ownership Successfully Transferred.]

[Town Lord Updated.]

[Current Town Lord: Sylvia Reign.]

David closed his eyes in despair, unable to even look at the confirmation screen as reality crashed down around him, everything he had spent days building was gone.

Caelus smiled faintly.

"Good," he said quietly, his voice carrying satisfaction as he released the Telekinesis, "you finally made the right decision."

David collapsed onto the floor immediately, his body too weak to support itself any longer as Caelus and Sylvia turned to leave without another word.

They walked out of the Town Hall together, leaving David kneeling on the floor behind them.
