Chapter 193: Extracting an S-Rank talent! The Stars Are Fake?

[Everyone in the Tier 2 and Tier 3 Kingdoms will enter the Civilian Area where most people of the middle space live.]

[Goal: Find new members.]

[Bring in as many people from there as you can to grow your kingdomโ€™s numbers.]

[During this time, other kingdoms will not be able to go to other kingdoms.]

[During this time, you cannot leave your kingdom no matter what or cross over to the civilian area.]

[The way you increase your population is by attracting civilians from the civilian area.]

[Do your best to attract them.]

[There will be split scoreboards for Tier 2 and Tier 3 kingdoms. The first place of each will get special rewards.]

[Good luck.]

"Oh, it is that event." Caelus nodded.

Usually, this event starts right after new servers join a group. But it was late, mostly because we merged with other planets.

Soon, Kevin and Mia also returned. They were both out in the endless space fighting monsters and grinding levels and items.

Kevin had been working very hard. He was one of the strongest people in the kingdom besides Caelus, Sylvia, and Mia.

That was because he had an Upper S-Rank talent: Star King.

Caelus had known about it for a long time, but he never really had the chance to take it.

He either forgot or could not find a good time to beat Kevin and take it.

So, he decided to use this chance to get his talent.

He already had a lot to do. If he took more, he might lose count of his own talents.

Kevin was not sure at first. But when Caelus showed he knew about the Upper S-Rank talent, Kevin told the truth.

Mia did not even blink. She knew he had an S-Rank talent. She had a special viewing power, after all.

After hearing Kevinโ€™s words, Caelus was sure.

He must get this talent!

So, he started an arena match and beat Kevin in one move. But he did not get the talent.

But that was fine. The arena had endless tries, after all.

He started another, then one more, and then 5 more.

He still did not get it. But he did not give up, because the person was still right in front of him!

Kevin now looked like a broken man in a hospital. But Caelus poked him with a big smile. It was the kind of smile that could trick people into buying the most costly food at a rich hotel.

Kevin agreed, and finally, Caelus got it!

[Ding! You have got the talent: Star King (Upper S-Rank)]

[Star King (Upper S-Rank): You are the king of stars. The power of stars powers you. Use it to boost your stats and use it to utilize skills.]

[You have got the skill: Astral Impact (Mythical, 3-Star)]

[You have got the skill: Star Sword Formation (Epic, 3-Star)]

[Astral Impact: Call Asteroids from outside your planet and crush your foes with their power.]

[Mythical effect: When the Asteroid hits the ground, it creates a huge blast that can destroy the land in a flash. Once in the ground, the Astroid will send waves of Astral Impact every 3 seconds that will deal 25% of your combat score as true damage.]

[Cost: 25% of your CA]

[Star Sword Formation: Form star swords that can crush mountains and part the sea with a wave of your hand. Max swords: 30. You can also mix them as one giant sword to deal +5 damage.]

[Cost: 15]

The skills he got were skills that would be useful to a gold rank.

The Origin Network was very caring like that.

At the same time, he noticed something about the talent.

"Kevin, have you ever used the power of star energy to boost your stats?"

He could tell Kevin only had the normal HP and MP of a regular person, even with an S-Rank talent.

"No," Kevin answered. "I have been trying to feel that star energy in the outside world. I even did weird dances to connect to the stars. But nothing worked."

"Nothing worked?" Caelus raised an eyebrow as his heart skipped a beat. ๐š๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐ž๐ฐ๐šŽ๐•“๐ง๐š˜๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐ฅ.๐œ๐š˜๐•ž

This could mean two things. His talent was fake and did not work, or there were actually no stars in outer space at all.

But that thought was flawed. There were other planets in this world. But then again, that did not prove anything.

The fact that Kevin could not feel star energy meant even the sun was not real.

It was a wild way of thinking. But Caelus started to believe it, mostly because many people had already told him to "Break the illusion."

Could this world actually be fake?

Was this some sort of farm? Did a higher being treat them as animals, and once they reached Crown III and grew up, they got eaten?

It was a very scary thought, but he began to believe it.

The idea was bad, but the things he had seen and heard made him think that way.

Everyone had told him with great rush to break the illusion. That meant something.

Or this world could really be the deep dark place from the Enderโ€™s story. The place where all enders were thrown into by their maker.

For now, he did not tell Sylvia or anyone else about this. The matter of being farm animals could be fake, of course. He would only know the truth after reaching Crown III.

Now, he was even more pumped to reach Crown III.

He would see it to the end. His life as the ender had just started. He was not going to die here in some fake world.

Then, he turned to Mia. It was time to take her Angel talent too.

However, as soon as he proposed that, Sylvia came forward.

"No! You cannot go in with her!" Her voice rose in a panic.

She puffed out her cheeks in a pout that was both cute and scary.

She grabbed onto Caelus, holding him very tight.

Going into the arena with another woman all alone?

An arena where you can stay forever as long as no one loses?

Was that not just a bad thing waiting to happen?

What if this white-haired vixen tried to charm her boyfriend with her vulgar body? What if she breathed the same air as him? What if she looked at him with her evil eyes?!

Sylviaโ€™s eyes swirled. She could not let that happen!

She held onto her hubby tightly. She was fully set on not letting him enter the arena.

She could really do that with her True Vampire Progenitor Privilege.
