Chapter 1863: Blood and Ice

Bam! Bam! Bam!

Mudaro’s heavy body slammed into the ground until he came to a stop in a cloud of dust.

Despite the powerful blow he’d taken, Mudaro quickly got back to his feet, brushing the blood from his mouth with the back of his hand.

"Tsk. You bitch. Do you think we’re weak? You don’t know what we’re capable of!"

Mudaro’s eyes narrowed as his red, aggressive aura burst forth.

Realizing that negotiations had failed, Kessa released her aura as well.

They both possessed the blood element, but used their powers slightly differently.

Blood covered Kessa’s legs as four blades whirled around her. Their sharp tips were aimed at Amelia, who was slowly walking toward her. Unlike her sister, she didn’t rush, wanting to maintain complete control of the situation.

Mudaro’s blood covered his fists and chest, forming armor for him that resembled an exoskeleton.

"Gha..."

Mudaro took a deep breath as he pointed his hand at Nukra.

"You should have accepted my offer. We will capture Adam Vinter, no matter what it costs us."

His desire to earn the Befallen Crown’s attention outweighed all risks.

Tremble!

With a tremor, a blood blob appeared before his fist, which in the next moment erupted into a powerful stream of blood.

Nukra merely smirked, pulling her leg back. She had no intention of dodging or running away, that wasn’t her style.

"You think that’s enough to scare me? Let me show you something even better!"

Whooooooosh!

In a high-speed dash, Nukra swept under the crimson stream, her green eyes focused solely on Mudaro.

"Agh?"

He expected her to dodge or at least counterattack, but instead, Nukra chose to close the distance. That wasn’t part of Mudaro’s plan!

Clutch.

Nukra clenched her fist before slamming it with all her might into Mudaro’s jaw in an upward strike. The uppercut sent Mudaro flying more than ten meters into the air, but Nukra wasn’t about to stop there.

With a flick of her wrist, the frost energy transformed into a long ice chain, its links continuing to form until the chain was long enough.

"Alright, let’s see how you handle this, you fat freak!"

Whoooooosh!

Mudaro tried to regain his balance. After all, for someone of his caliber, staying aloft was no problem. It took him only half a second to recover from Nukra’s crushing punch.

But she acted faster.

Clasp! Clasp! Clasp!

The ice chain bound him, pinning his arms to his torso, then again and again, until the chain had formed three loops.

"What the..."

Mudaro glanced down as fear filled his eyes.

Nukra grinned widely, looking at him not as an equal opponent but as a target to be beaten for her own amusement.

Tug.

She pulled on the chain, and in the next moment, Mudaro’s body crashed to the ground with a deafening thud.

"GHA!" He coughed up blood as his armor trembled, trying to absorb some of the damage.

But the worst was yet to come, as Nukra was already standing over him.

"Did you think I’d want to work with you? Pffft! You’re a bunch of weaklings who think you’re capable of something just because you’ve fought against even bigger nobodies than yourselves!"

Before Mudaro could respond, Nukra’s fist slammed straight into his face, driving his massive frame deeper into the ground.

Bam! Bam! Bam!

With each of her strikes, the ground shook as blood spurted out.

Kessa wanted to help Mudaro, but unfortunately for her, she had her own, no less dangerous opponent.

Step.

Amelia took a step forward as Kessa’s blood blades reacted. All four lunged at her, aiming for her weak spots.

"Right, now I have to focus on her. Mudaro is very tough. I should have enough time to deal with Amelia and then switch to Nukra."

Clang!

Amelia stopped as her palm moved. With four smooth swipes, she deflected the blood blades with her hand, disrupting the blades’ trajectory.

The frost energy enveloping her palm was cold enough to freeze the blood blades as they shattered upon hitting the ground.

"Agh...?" Kessa blinked in disbelief.

The next moment, Amelia appeared right in front of Kessa, wearing her usual, emotionless expression.

"I prefer more elegant techniques than my wild sister. I’m afraid that doesn’t bode well for you."

Kessa stepped back, thrusting her arm forward to attack.

"Get away from me!"

Slash!

Before she could do anything, Amelia’s palm sliced across her shoulder in a flash.

"W-What..."

Blood gushed from the deep wound, but the crimson drops didn’t reach Amelia’s face before the cold surrounding her turned them into icy crystals.

"I don’t have time for this. Let’s get this over with quickly."

Step.

Faster than Kessa could realize it, Amelia’s palm touched her chest.

Tremble! Tremble! Tremble!

The ground shook as four ice pillars rose around them.

Amelia stepped back while ice ran down Kessa’s legs, freezing her to the ground.

"NO!" she cried out, trying to break free, but she wasn’t strong enough, and her blood abilities were too weak against Amelia’s cold.

In the next moment, thick chains burst forth from the four pillars, binding Kessa from all sides.

Perhaps if she’d had more time, she might have been able to free her legs, but now it was all over for her.

"Agh... Agh... Agh..." Kessa gasped for breath as her body began to freeze and her skin turned pale.

The chains weren’t draining her energy, Amelia didn’t possess such abilities, but she could turn Kessa into a large block of ice.

Bam!

At that very moment, Nukra landed one final punch on Mudaro’s battered face.

She wiped the blood from her cheek and stood up, turning toward Amelia, who hadn’t shown a single emotion throughout the entire fight. She watched as Kessa gradually lost her strength.

"Are we done?" Nukra asked, approaching Amelia as blood dripped from the knuckles of her fist.

Amelia nodded.

"Yes. They no longer pose a threat to us."

She turned to the Blood Fangs members as the ice pillars shattered at the wave of her hand.

"Take your leaders away, and don’t come back to our home without a good reason."

"Y-Yes!"

They reacted instantly, and soon the gates were empty again.

Amelia turned to Nukra, only to see her excited expression.

"And? When can we meet Adam Vinter? I want to do it right now!"
