Chapter 1233: Chapter 54

Previously, Bologue would try to conceal some secret information to make those around him worry less, but as time went by, Bologue’s mindset slowly changed. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚

Bologue couldn’t control everything, and others didn’t necessarily need Bologue’s care. Out of respect, Bologue did not hide anything from Aimou, recounting all his past frantic experiences.

As he narrated, Aimou’s eyes widened, until finally, she let out an incredible gasp.

"Oh... my god!"

Aimou was first shocked, then circled Bologue, carefully inspecting him, with the same seriousness as inspecting a car during a driving test.

"Are you alright?" Aimou was extremely concerned.

Bologue waved his hand, "I’m fine, very healthy."

"Once you die, all states are refreshed," Bologue thought to himself.

Aimou wanted to say something more, but at that moment, she appeared to be inarticulate, as if unsure how to express her concern.

"I appreciate your kindness," Bologue patted her shoulder and then suggested, "Come on, I want to see your research results."

"Are you referring to the Original Sin Armament?"

Aimou had been researching many things recently, so after a simple search, she asked.

"Yes," Bologue nodded, "I plan to recruit York, that priest, to take charge of the security in Gray Stone Town, so I want to understand the Original Sin Armament by the way."

"Him? Can he do it?" Aimou continued, "I mean, can he alone take responsibility for Gray Stone Town?"

"I think there’s no problem, he has great prestige in Gray Stone Town. No outsider can escape his eyes, and he doesn’t need to fight; he just has to continuously relay information back."

Bologue’s attitude was very determined; he seemed to have completely decided on this matter.

Aimou didn’t refute much, after all, she wasn’t very knowledgeable about such matters. Since Bologue was the team leader and a professional, listening to him couldn’t be too wrong.

"So is there any progress with the Original Sin Armament?" Bologue asked again.

Aimou nodded, hesitated for a moment, then shook her head, which left Bologue a bit confused.

"Some progress has been made, but not much."

Aimou continued, "You know, we haven’t had this Original Sin Armament for long, many studies are still in the early stages."

She emphasized, "This is skilled work, not as simple as cutting people."

Bologue paused, then said, "Sorry, I’m a bit impatient."

"We tried to analyze the material of that chain, but all the data we read came out unknown... It’s made of a material we’ve never seen before, which could be said to be a physical manifestation of Devil’s Power."

Aimou explained the current information to Bologue.

"As for its unique ability, after thorough investigation, we did not find any obvious Alchemy Matrix."

"No Alchemy Matrix?"

Bologue creased his brow; he wasn’t a scholar and didn’t understand those profound things, but some basic knowledge he still knew.

Ether is the source of all power, and the Alchemy Matrix is like a converter that triggers various miraculous phenomena by consuming Ether—even on a Contract Object, it has an Alchemy Matrix, but this Alchemy Matrix is crafted by Devil’s Power, difficult for mortals to decipher.

Yet now Aimou claims there seems to be no Alchemy Matrix on the Thorny Pain Lock, despite it having various Extraordinary Powers, from where do they originate?

"We speculate the power of the Thorny Pain Lock is another form of... Protection."

"Protection?"

Bologue had a subtle feeling; he thought this was unlikely. Protection usually directly affects the Protector, so how could it attach to matter? But then Bologue remembered Sai Zong’s description regarding the Sin of Wrath.

It was a purely violent beast, almost devoid of communication ability—such an existence was barely a Protector, and even fewer a Debtor.

"Yes, evidently, the Sin of Wrath in its form and the manifestation of power is vastly different from other Devils. If other Devils are annoying sales companies promoting soul transactions, then the Sin of Wrath is like an unmanned convenience store. You can take what you want; as for who the customer is or what they intend to do, it doesn’t care."

Having been with Bologue for a long time, Aimou became adept at using Bologue’s intriguing expressions to provide examples.

Bologue gently nodded, affirming, "Previously when using the Vengeful Saw Axe, I once suspected that this power was akin to the manifestation of Protection."

"Next, we plan to closely study the true power of the Original Sin Armament. If we can probe its nature, we might even understand what the Protection of the Sin of Wrath is, and possibly, even utilize it to our advantage."

Aimou voiced that dangerous notion.

"Since its power is like an unmanned convenience store, the enemy can use it, and so can we."

"Hmm... very good."

Bologue raised his hand, gently patting Aimou’s shoulder, revealing a pleased smile.

"What’s wrong?" Aimou found Bologue’s smile strange.

"Nothing, just feeling that Aimou has also become capable of handling things independently."

"Really?" Aimou felt nothing; she believed she was just working.
