Chapter 1515: Chapter 945: The Working Demon’s Springtime (Part 2)

Hmm... the Demons on the first floor are all pretty weak. With his Silver Upper strength, it’s more than enough to steamroll them, no need to worry too much about safety.

The newbies all pricked up their ears as well, listening carefully to the veteran players’ explanation.

Same as the early-version Demon Maze, the Demon Maze in the new expansion is still random teleport. Only players in the same party will be teleported together.

The maze is big, insanely big, and it’s not just one floor, but more than ten floors stacked, going deeper and deeper underground.

Rumor has it the whole maze is still expanding. As the number of players increases and the game keeps getting updated, the area of the maze grows every time, and every expansion means at least one more BOSS added into the maze.

As before, the BOSS Palace in the maze is summoned and opened by keys that drop randomly. There’s no requirement that you must kill the previous floor’s BOSS to enter the next floor of the maze.

However, if you want to get higher-level job-change slots, you have to go deeper into the maze, because the deeper you go, the stronger the BOSSes are.

At the same time, the deeper you go, the lower the chance of getting a BOSS key, and the stronger the normal Demons and Abyss Creatures become. Sometimes you might even run into a small Abyss Nest.

"The first floor is where you’re most likely to see keys, but the BOSS there only drops Silver Lower job-change slots, and at a very low rate. That floor’s more for low-level grinding."

"As you keep heading down, it gets harder to run into a BOSS, but the drop rate of all kinds of good stuff goes up too."

"Especially job-change slots! For first job-change, the third floor has the highest probability. Starting from the fourth floor, Silver mid-tier job-change slots will start to appear, but in turn, the drop rate of Silver Lower job-change slots begins to drop."

"By the sixth floor, the drop rate for Silver mid-tier job-change slots hits the peak. From the seventh floor onward, Silver Upper job-change slots begin to appear, the mid-tier probability goes down, and so on and so forth."

"This time, our target is the fourth floor. While the drop rate for Silver Lower job-change slots isn’t as high as the third floor, there’s a chance for Silver mid-tier job-change slots to drop. Overall, the cost-performance is better..."

"If we get lucky, you might even clear your Silver mid-tier job-change along the way..."

The veteran leading the group cheerfully shared everything he knew with the newbies.

"The fourth floor? But we’re all Black Iron... won’t we be unable to fight there?"

One newbie asked anxiously.

Hearing that, the old members in the party exchanged looks and laughed:

"Heh, don’t worry. We’re all Silver Upper. As long as we don’t trigger any traps, we can wipe everything with ease!"

"Traps?"

"Yeah. If you see treasure chests and such, don’t open them rashly. They could be Demon traps!"

"Got it!"

The group moved through the eerie, terrifying underground maze, exploring as they walked, searching for the entrance to the next floor while chatting.

"By the way, big bro, do you know which BOSSes are on the fourth floor? When I checked the Demon Maze info on the official site, none of the BOSSes listed had their maze floor marked. Why is that?"

Another newbie player asked curiously.

The veteran chuckled and said:

"It’s right that there’s no display. That’s because any BOSS can appear on different floors of the maze, it’s just that when they show up deeper down, they’re stronger."

"Is there any pattern to it?"

"Can’t say there’s none, but it’s not very useful. From what we’ve seen, when a BOSS has been lingering on the upper floors for too long, it’ll move downwards. But it’s not absolute. Fallen Angel Luria and Pain Queen Alisa are basically the permanent tenants of the first floor—almost every run you run into them. Back then I farmed them so much I nearly puked."

Another veteran player complained.

"Then... among the BOSSes, who’s the strongest?"

Someone asked out of curiosity.

The veteran leading the team thought for a bit and said:

"Not necessarily fixed, but... on a very, very tiny chance, you can run into the Maze Master Azazel on different floors of the maze. On any given floor, it’s basically invincible—super hard to beat, clear rate is extremely low. But once you clear it, you’ll rake in a massive reward!"

"Of course, with our current strength, if we run into It on the fourth floor, just lie down and accept fate, we’re not winning that fight."

Hearing this, the newbies’ eyes went wide:

"Azazel is that strong? Didn’t they say Samael is in the maze as well?"

"Eh, no idea. Anyway, in the official lore the Maze Master Azazel is the strongest, and Samael is only fit to carry Its shoes. But

... we haven’t come to grind here for a long time either, so who knows if things have changed now."

The veteran shook his head.

The group chatted as they walked, and soon found an entrance leading down to the lower floor.

There’s more than one entrance between different maze floors, so they’re not hard to find. Usually there are monsters guarding them, though.

Of course, to this group, these low-floor monsters posed no threat; they could pass through with ease.

After entering the fourth floor, the veterans gradually fell silent and focused fully on exploring the maze.

Reason being, from here on, the Demons’ combat strength clearly ramped up.

Their luck wasn’t bad. Not long after stepping into the fourth-floor maze, they wiped out a small Demon gathering point and blew out a Seven-colored Boss Palace Key.

This first time, the one they encountered was the Devourer Hagnet, a Demigod Level Abyss Myth.

Of course, their strength was being suppressed.

The recommended level for the fourth floor was Black Iron Upper to Silver Lower.

With a few Silver Upper players holding the line, the party’s fights went smoothly. In less than ten minutes, this so‑called Abyss Myth let out a feeble wail and turned back into a statue, exploding into a pile of rewards, including a Silver mid tier job-change slot!

You could really call that an auspicious start!

With the first battle going so well, the newbies were getting excited too.

Under the leadership of the veteran players, they pushed deeper in. In less than half an hour, they found another Boss Key.

This time, they ran into Unihorn Duke Andoria.

The second BOSS was a bit harder than the first, but the party still cleared it without taking a hit, and only used thirteen minutes.

This time their luck was good too; a Silver Lower job-change slot dropped.

The players got even more hyped.

"Hurry it up! I’ve got a feeling we can collect both kinds of keys today!"

One of the newbie players was raring to go, face full of excitement.

"Hahahaha, you guys are pretty lucky. The trigger rate for BOSS keys now is way higher than it was back in our day."

The veteran player laughed.

The party turned a corner, and a dazzling light entered their eyes. In the corner of the maze, a seven-colored chest had appeared.

"Treasure chest! It’s a treasure chest!"

The newbie player’s eyes lit up.

"Don’t go over there! Did you forget what I told you before?!"

The leading veteran shouted sharply, stopping the players who were about to rush forward.

The restless maze rookies halted and looked toward the veteran. His gaze suddenly turned stern:

"Below the tenth floor, it’s impossible for colorful chests to spawn! It’s definitely a trap! Open it and you’ll absolutely trigger a Demon tide!"

Hearing this, the newbies’ expressions shifted, each of them showing a hint of lingering fear.

And right at that moment, suddenly, a surprised voice came from the back of the party:

"Huh? There are Dragon Eggs in the Demon Maze too?!"

Dragon Egg?

The leading veteran was slightly stunned.

He turned back and saw the player in the very rear squatting in a corner, excitedly examining a barrel‑sized egg.

The distinct pattern on the egg—wasn’t that the dragon scales people had been posting to death online? What else could it be?

This... was actually a real Dragon Egg!

The veteran’s eyes went wide.

Wait a second...

Was that egg there just now?

As if realizing something, his heart suddenly jolted.

In the next instant, his face changed and he hurriedly shouted:

"Don’t touch it!"

But it was already too late.

The player in front of the Dragon Egg had already picked it up.

The next second, the Dragon Egg suddenly exploded, turning into a cloud of red smoke that engulfed the entire party.

Everyone felt the strength in their bodies rapidly draining away.

"Crap! It’s poison!"

The veteran’s expression changed drastically.

Then, before they could do anything, a swarm of Demons big and small leapt out from deep within the maze, completely surrounding them.

In no time at all... the party was swallowed up by the Demon flood.

Meanwhile, at the very deepest point of the Demon Maze.

Azazel was watching the shifting images in a Crystal Ball while leisurely swinging a pair of long black legs, with a young, beautiful succubus behind Him kneading His shoulders and pounding His back.

"Hmph, still daring to let veterans power-level newbies, and the stuff they bring is so unoriginal—just a bunch of half‑assed slackers who want easy gains... this is what you get for cheating!"

He let out a cold laugh and took a bite of the sweet melon in His hand.
