Chapter 1509: Chapter 942: Theresa’s Dream (Part 7)
The roaring train sped through wheat fields and across forests.
Theresa leaned against the window, staring intently at the rushing scenery.
She saw towering Oak Guardians assisting farmers with watering and fertilizing in the endless green wheat fields.
She saw, in the river like a silver ribbon, Mages and Elves controlling armored golem giants, constructing a towering dam.
She saw hot air balloons moving slowly in the sky, children laughing and chasing on the ground, and in the gondola of the balloon, she could vaguely see an Elf Chosen One waving to the children below...
She saw too much, scenes she had never seen in her life, nor even imagined, ten years ago.
The train traveled for six hours.
Midway, Theresa ordered a lunch on the train, not too expensive, only two silver coins.
The taste was quite good, she specifically picked the Elf Fruit Set, particularly enjoying the Elf Flower Tea inside, though she was told by Lady Feng that the authentic flower tea and Elf cuisine in the Elf Forest were much tastier than those on the train.
This made Theresa’s heart itch, sparking a slight impulse to venture into the Elf Forest.
Yet she knew, although it had opened to races other than Elves, the prerequisite for entry was to be a Life believer.
Inexplicably, she felt a bit of regret.
Around three o’clock in the afternoon, the magic-guided train entered Maniya City.
Upon entering Maniya City, the train began to slow down gradually, and the music played by the magic phonograph suddenly changed, becoming gentler, accompanied by a melodious female voice introducing the diverse customs and culture of Maniya City, welcoming the arrival of passengers.
Theresa watched all this curiously, then once again turned her gaze to the outside.
The first thing that caught Theresa’s eyes was the familiar outer city wall, but the Imperial Eagle Flag, which once belonged there, was no longer, replaced by the two-color flag of the Republic.
The city’s architecture appeared much cleaner and tidier than what Theresa remembered; many buildings looked brand new, likely renovated.
From the train’s elevated bridge, one could see bustling streets filled with people, carriages coming and going, an incessant flow, and even glimpses of tram-like magic-guided vehicles resembling the train.
The city was very lively, brimming with vitality and vigor, one that Theresa could sense even from within the train.
Suddenly, a majestic castle came into Theresa’s view, her heart stirred, she glanced over, then her gaze turned a bit complex.
That was the Dorolia Castle Prison.
However, unlike the prison in Theresa’s memory, that fleeting prison was adorned with decorative flags, and glimpses of spectators on the towers could be seen.
At that moment, Theresa comprehended that this castle prison probably had become a scenic spot, much like Olesburg.
After entering Maniya, the train slowly traveled for nearly ten minutes before finally stopping.
To Theresa’s surprise, the station was located in the former Holy Square, although upon reflection, it was not unexpected as this was the center of the entire Maniya City.
The former Noble Council Building, Eternal Holy Temple, and Imperial Palace were all situated here.
"We’ve arrived in Maniya City, let’s get off the train."
Lady Feng said with a smile.
Listening to her, Theresa hesitated slightly.
When the train came to a complete halt and her hometown was right in front of her, the girl’s heart began to feel retreating intentions instead.
But it wasn’t entirely a retreat; rather, it was a mix of complex emotions intertwined together.
There was tension, apprehension, yet also anticipation and curiosity.
Standing here, she couldn’t help but recall that terrifying day ten years ago.
She remembered the anger of the populace, the furious expressions when people mentioned her name...
She was frightened.
She was afraid of being recognized.
Upon being recognized, she didn’t know what she would encounter...
Yet, she was curious.
She was curious about what Maniya had transformed into now.
"Don’t be afraid, no one knows you, even if someone does, it’s okay. Everything is already in the past."
Lady Feng’s warm voice reached her, and Theresa felt a soft hand on her head, gently rubbing.
At that moment, she seemed to feel a surge of warm power entering her body, her tension and apprehension slowly dissipating.
It appeared to be some calming Elf Magic.
"Stop dazing, let’s go."
Lady Feng said.
"Thank you... Lady Feng."
Theresa gratefully looked at the accompanying Elf Priest, then took a deep breath, suppressing the worries and fear in her heart, and followed Lady Feng off the train.
Leaving the imposing Magic Station, Theresa arrived at the square.
The square seemed to be the same square, but it appeared more bustling compared to ten years ago.
Because now, there were more commoners and visitors that rarely appeared in the past.
Maniya’s inner city was completely open to people now.
Staring at this familiar yet unfamiliar square, Theresa’s vision seemed a little dizzy.
At this moment, she finally felt some semblance of change with time.
Her gaze fell upon the statue in the square; the statue of the Eternal Lord was gone, replaced by a beautiful and sacred statue of the Goddess, and this Holy Square was also renamed Life Square.
The Eternal Holy Temple to the right of the square similarly hung the Life Church flag, remodeled into the Life Temple, while the Imperial center in the former Noble Council Building, Gray Castle, bore the Republic’s two-color flags.
Theresa’s eyesight was good; she quickly saw the name carved in front of the newly erected revolutionary statue in front of Gray Castle - House of Representatives.
