Chapter 1253: Chapter 1292: Purpose
Mabel Quinn’s body suddenly shook, "What do you mean by that?"
Kyle Kinston merely smiled silently, without answering.
The car drove up to the Kinston Family mansion. Six years had passed, and Mabel Quinn felt a sense of nostalgia as she watched the iron gates slowly open, the car driving through them, and stopping at the front entrance. The once familiar scene reappeared before her eyes, evoking an indescribable emotion in her heart.
Despite the changes over the years, efforts to forget, humans, after all, remain human. Seeing the past again inevitably stirs emotions.
Mabel Quinn got out of the car and saw Uncle Kang. Six years had passed, and Uncle Kang had aged a bit more, but seeing Mabel Quinn, he was exceptionally happy. "This is wonderful, Ma’am, you’re alive, still alive! I knew your good fortune wouldn’t let you die so easily!"
"Uncle Kang, long time no see. How is your health?" Mabel Quinn said.
"Good, good," Uncle Kang replied, looking at the little girl holding Mabel Quinn’s hand, "This must be Miss Ivy. If the master and madam knew they had a granddaughter, they surely... would be happy too."
Uncle Kang said with a choked voice, while the little one generously offered Uncle Kang a hug and showed no fear.
The servants of the Kinston Family moved Mabel Quinn’s luggage into the house. Uncle Kang took the little one to familiarize her with the Kinston mansion.
To the little one, the vast Kinston estate resembled an adventurous castle, sparking her curiosity.
At this moment, Mabel Quinn and Kyle Kinston were alone in the living room. Mabel Quinn finally spoke, "What is your purpose in bringing Ivy and me to Falling City?"
"What purpose do you think I have? Do you think I want to kneel before you once more, begging for your forgiveness, pleading for your love?" He retorted lightly.
She was speechless. His words were undoubtedly like sarcasm.
"I have work in G City, and I want to return there with my daughter. If you just think this is amusing, I won’t entertain it." She said this while taking out her phone, intending to book tickets online.
He chuckled softly, "Mabel Quinn, do you believe, no matter what kind of ticket you book, you won’t be able to leave Falling City."
Mabel Quinn looked up, glaring at Kyle Kinston, "What exactly do you want to do?"
"Nothing really, just want you to stay in Falling City for a few days." He said casually, "And in the future, perhaps every month, you’ll need to stay by my side for a day."
During the Full Moon each month, he would use her to alleviate the pain of the Blood Curse, and beyond that, there would be nothing else. If she never loved him in this lifetime, then to him, she was just a lifeline.
"I refuse," Mabel Quinn said. "Kyle Kinston, I am not your puppet on a string!"
He approached her, bent down, and looked at her steadily, "Mabel Quinn, who is really the puppet on a string here? It is he who is constantly manipulated emotionally! She controls his joys and sorrows, controls all of his emotions. "We are still husband and wife now, it is only natural for you to stay by my side!"
"Natural? It’s just a piece of paper. Since when did Mr. Kinston care so much about a piece of paper?" She said.
"Do you truly want to divorce me? Don’t forget, Ivy is also my daughter. If you really want to divorce me, have you considered the issue of child custody?" he said.
