Chapter 973: Chapter 973: Blacksmith beauty

With a smile quickly growing on his lips Frost pictured a certain forge in his mind as well as a certain green enchantress, a moment later space around him warped and his body was teleported to the floor of peace where Daki stationed her primary forge, close to at least four different mines and quarries making transporting materials quick and efficient.

Don Don Don Don

The moment he materialised Frost could hear the sound of a heavy hammer repeatedly striking against red hot metal. The air here was much hotter than he was used to, dense and with a lingering metallic smell.

He followed the rhythmic sound with a skip in his step eager to see the visage of the one making all this noise.

Don! Don! Don!

The sound grew in volume as he approached, his presence completely masked by it and the sheer focus displayed by the beauty standing before her anvil.

With a hammer that easily weighed several tens of kilograms Daki reshaped a metal billet, stretching it out until she could fold it over itself before repeating over and over, layering the metal to enhance its strength and durability while at the same time developing a beautiful swirling pattern within.

Her movements were akin to an art form, beautiful, majestic and precise as though her eyes were seeing something beyond the surface of the metal.

Daki and Borris spoke of it on the odd occasion, the heart of materials, shapes and forms that they’re innately attuned to, patterns and cohesion between different materials and finally flaws that glow like fireflies in the dark. To a laymen like Frost such talk was far too esoteric but to a fellow smith especially one with talent upon hearing such thing their eyes would light up with innocence and endless passion.

Looking at her from his current position it was obvious Daki was seeing something that he couldn’t which made her appear immensely beautiful. Regardless of her physical appearance, her clothes, the soot and metallic muck on her skin the aura around her as she worked drew the eyes.

Not wanting to disturb her from her trance Frost quietly watched his lover work, the affection in his gaze growing with every passing second.

’So beautiful.’

"Phew...." About ten minutes after Frost’s arrival Daki stopped her hammering and heating of the metal billet sitting on her anvil. She released a deep breath, her shoulders slumping slightly as a frown formed across her brow. "Another failure, that last step between 3 star and 4 star is so close yet at the same time so damn far." Shaking her head she tossed the half-finished greave into a large pile several metres to her left, her pile of failures that had been accruing ever since Frost prepared this forge for her.

"True but that’s the beauty of a divide, the harder it is to cross the greater the benefits and the greater the emotions felt when you finally succeed." Seeing frustration and a few signs of despair forming in her expression Frost spoke up, his voice full of soothing charm.

"Babe~" Daki instantly perked up when she saw Frost, tossing her recent failure to the back of her mind as she bounded over to him. "Give me some sugar" She coyly demanded while pursing her lips, a demand Frost was more than happy to comply with.

Smooch!

The lovers shared a deep kiss, a string of saliva connecting their lips as they separated.

"Hmm tastes like sweetness and iron." Some of the soot and metal muck was transferred from Daki’s lips to his own.

"Hehehe that’s what you get when you date a blacksmith."

"And I wouldn’t have it any other way my love." Out of her curve hugging attire, light make up and ass promoting heels Daki was still a force to be reckoned with. Her loose, breezy, heat resistant tunic and apron failed miserably at hiding her dynamite figure while the soot against her green skin added its own allure.

"And that’s why I love you hehehe~" Daki giggled as her heart swelled several times its original size. She then gave him a peck on the cheek before leading him towards her rest station.

"Thirsty?"

"Very but not for alcohol, that winterberry juice you hoard would be perfect." Daki had a large, chilled cabinet filled with beverages and snacks so she could stay in her forge for days on end without interruption. She even had a bed and simple bathroom but given her fondness for her Frost and Maya and how easy it was for her to transition between her forge and the private space she rarely used it.

"One winterberry juice coming right up." Being the natural tease that she was Daki purposely bent over more than necessary giving Frost a front row seat to how stretched her pants were around her cheeks.

’Damn temptress.’ If he didn’t have work to do he’d be inclined to pin her against her anvil and hammer her body into submission.

"So what brings you to my humble forge honey~" She asked in a playful tone, her eyes blinking with allure, sending a not so subtle message.

"Unfortunately not that, not this time at least." Though it pained him he had to shoot down his green enchantress’ expectations, Yuna would chew his ear off if he delayed his return to the office.

"Hmm well that’s disappointing." Daki pouted in a cute manner as her feet stretched forward to play footsie with him. Just because sex was off the table didn’t mean they couldn’t flirt.

"I just finished training with Maya so I thought I should spend some time with you." Aware of his poor track record when it came to restraining himself Frost didn’t play footsie back but instead took hold of Daki’s feet, removed her boots and started massaging her soles, intimate but not flirtatious....a compromise Daki welcomed given how long she’d been on her feet.

"Aww that’s nice of you. I know you don’t have much interest in smithing, but I do enjoy your company here in the forge." It did get quite lonely here down on the floor of peace, few who could keep her company and fewer who shared her interests but that wasn’t anything new. Back in Kranor her situation was similar if not worse at least here she could occasionally interact with frost dwarven smiths that hung on her every word and her family was always just a simple teleport away.

"Then I should visit you here more often."

"Hnn."

".....How did your training go?" After enjoying the foot and eventually calf massage for a couple minutes Daki asked.

"Good, great in fact I finally managed to wound her. A small gash on her right shoulder." Frost immediately bragged, looking forward to hearing Daki’s praises but what he got was a bucket of cold water.

"Hoh you actually managed to wound the mighty Maya...I bet she beat the living shit out of you afterwards didn’t she~"

"Urgh." Like a dagger through the heart, how could she be so callous to prod an open wound.

"Hahahaha was it bad? Did she leave any bone unbroken....did you cry?"

"Boohoo when did my Daki become so mean."

Both his lovers seemed to begging to be punished during their nightly battles, he at least thought Daki would have learned her lesson after what he did to her ass a few days ago.

"Hahahaha sorry, sorry I just couldn’t resist...forgive." She tilted her head to the side, smiling in an adorable manner while scooching closer to him.

"Hmph just words." He wanted something in compensation, something sweet and metallic tasting which Daki clearly understood. A moment later she wrapped her luscious lips against his, their tongues wrestling until her lover was satisfied.

"Ok you’re forgiven." He didn’t really hold a grudge, just any excuse to taste her unique sweetness.

’It’s like coddling a child sometimes.’ A trait that wasn’t unique to just Frost, many a time she had to play the same game with ex boyfriends and even the occasional ex-girlfriend but definitely more often with the former.

"How’s your progress to 4th star going?" Obviously she wasn’t there yet given the recent failure he was present to witness but as a layman he couldn’t understand the distance without her telling him.

"Slowly but surely, I’ve definitely reached a wall, but my foundations can still be improved." Knowledge and experience could always grow horizontally if not vertically.

"That’s good, do you need anything from me? I can maybe purchase a few choice ores for you to work with or have the merchants search for smithing books."

"No it’s mainly my fundamentals that are lacking so that won’t help, patience and repetition until I feel the spark of inspiration is the key." Borris achieved 4 star by working on a battlefield before finally laying eyes on Frost’s damaged glaive, inspiring him to try and reforge into a 4 star piece of equipment, Daki planned to follow the same route....at least for a while. If inspiration didn’t strike then she’d attempt to force her level up by experimenting with higher and riskier materials.

"It’ll come, my Daki’s destined for greatness after all." Frost had full confidence in her abilities, her current rank was reached through her own efforts and held back by the limitations in her surroundings. With him by her side she would never have to worry about such limitations. If she wanted the moon he would lasso it down from the sky and give it to her.
