The Primordial Bone Dragon attacked the heroes again, this time using its other rune seals. Some of its bones separated, activating the Thorn seals. Then, the Repulsion seal flared up.

Hundreds of bones shot toward the heroes, now like divine spears, capable of piercing anything. The heroes’ eyes widened, panic setting in.

This was no less powerful than the initial attack. However, the bones would be lost afterward. It would shoot again and again, but despite its massive size, its bones weren’t infinite. That abomination didn’t want to defeat them but just force them to defend themselves with everything they had.

After a few moves, the Sharpening seal could be used. Once it was used, there’d be nothing left to buy time again; then the Dragon would be destroyed in the interval between uses.

’We have at most ten minutes,’ Alm and Bruno concluded, moving toward the small world where the body of the Nine Stars Tree was.

The entity controlling the body had no intention of stopping them. On the contrary, it was more than happy for them to walk right into its lair. Inside, it was the governor and could use that immortal body to its fullest.

In three seconds, that villainous soul entered the place. Instantly, a sarcastic laugh echoed.

*Crack!*

Then the ground violently shattered as infinite roots surrounded them, trying to trap them.

The ghostly entity sighed. Two tattoos carved into its soul lit up, its eyes pulsed, and Yin and Yang fused together. Soon, the primordial state of Wuji was activated.

Its fists moved forward, and the laws of that micro-universe shifted under its command.

*BOOM!*

All the roots exploded into dust. The Nine Stars Tree widened its eyes. The nine laws it controlled, coming from the nine globes... As soon as it moved them, it lost some control over them. Seven of the nine laws were ripped away, leaving only Time and Space for it to use.

After the initial shock, the Nine Stars Tree wasn’t intimidated; in fact, it grinned even more sinisterly. "Hahaha, the stronger you are, the more merits I’ll receive. You think you’re leaving here alive? That was just a welcome."

In that moment, Alm and Bruno, watching the tree the size of a planet, felt something emerge from within it. It was a subtle soul power, but not an ordinary soul – it was a divine soul.

In seconds, the power of that tree seemed to multiply. It didn’t invoke all nine laws again, just Time and Space. But just those two were several times more intense than the previous nine.

’A fragment of the true owner of the body is still sealed inside,’ they confirmed with a sigh.

’Master!’

Liumi’s voice alerted them. They turned to the inventory and saw the Divine Seed trembling, just like when they visited the three sacred places of the empires.

’Interesting... maybe, if we can recover the soul fragment in the body, the seed can absorb it. It’d be like a reincarnation,’ they concluded coldly. ’Seems to fit. This must be the goal of the Will of Heavens in forcing me to create the seed, and then sending us to save it.’

Another thing caught their attention: Mihkriel was still in the inventory. Technically, his mission to destroy the reincarnation cycle of that place was complete. All souls had been freed, and the cycle no longer existed.

Mihkriel sat in a corner of the inventory, silently observing everything. When Alm and Bruno’s senses brushed past him, his soul trembled, frozen in clear fear.

Now, he decided to be obedient, having glimpsed their true identities. Before, Mihkriel probably only saw a weak divine soul in them since they were split. So, even though they saved him and demonstrated their power, he naturally felt more empowered and superior.

It took two seconds for the world around them to fracture. Infinite spatial blades surrounded them. They were just souls, and even though they were divine, to use that power they would have to burn their souls.

Currently, they had only 1% of their remaining energy. They used half to suppress billions of people and recover the treasures in the three mountains. Then, they spent 49% to free everyone from the reincarnation cycle. They did everything to save those people, but there was no regret or hesitation in them.

The Wuji activated again, but it was impossible to defend with just that. They were forced to take drastic measures. Inside the inventory, all their unconscious allies trembled as a bit of the Law of Origin was extracted from them.

Alm and Bruno sighed. The Taiji state was activated; now they were supreme and extreme. The Law of Origin merged and flowed around them. There was no color, distortions, or any visual effect, but with just a smooth movement, all the spatial blades froze.

All the millions of laws within the inventory trembled in sync and emerged. In the next second, they were surrounded by a sea of pulsating stars. That whole place radiated the power of multiple laws.

That was their maximum state of power. Everything had been unleashed, with no way back.

Unfortunately, without a body and with no power cultivated in the whale, using his weapons was pretty much useless. Liumi, Vorion, and Fides could only rely on their internal power, but even that was irrelevant against an enemy controlling a body at that level.

"Let’s see what you can do using something that’s not even yours." Alm and Bruno calmly declared, moving forward without hesitation.

*RUMBLE!!*

The small space trembled and started to shatter as if it was about to collapse. The terrifying shock made even the heroes outside turn to the other battle, stunned.

*ROAR!*

But the Primordial Bone Dragon didn’t give them a second to think. His bones shot out non-stop, and almost half of his massive form was already disintegrated.

Violent crashes continued to echo in that space.

One minute... two... five... six... seven...

The heroes were starting to get desperate. Suddenly, the abomination stopped attacking. When they looked at it, they saw that only a third of its bones remained, but the sharpening runes were ready again.

Inside the space, Alm and Bruno clenched their fists, realizing what was happening outside. Time was running out.

Their enemy, on the other hand, seemed more and more excited. He hadn’t taken a single scratch in the fight; in fact, they were at a standstill. The Tree of Nine Stars knew it couldn’t completely defeat them, so its goal was just to keep them trapped until the heroes captured them.

Alm and Bruno clearly saw their power dropping every second. They barely had any Origin Law left to use, and all those laws had a limit on how many times they could be used.

The Wuji and Taiji, which were once their biggest weapons, were no longer enough. If only they had a body, other strategies would be possible. But the whole situation had unfolded unexpectedly.

After a sigh, they saw one single possibility ahead. They needed to reach something they couldn’t before.

’Wuji is the return to the primordial state, where all consciousnesses were born,’ they murmured reflectively. ’Taiji is the manipulation of power coming from the Origin of souls. In the end, both states are connected...’

’They came from the same place but are different. Opposites, yet part of the same thing... they are reflections of Yin and Yang, the basic fundamentals of all techniques.’

’Isla developed only the theory of Wuji. We turned it into reality. Then we moved on to the next level by discovering the other side. Just like it was impossible to unite Yin and Yang... that must be the next step.’

The reflection lasted only two seconds. They took a deep breath and closed their eyes.

The Tree of Nine Stars was surprised but just smiled sinisterly. He didn’t have time to gather energy; was he giving it to him now? He immediately prepared a devastating singular attack.

A gigantic spatial blade formed in front of him; it could tear apart time and space. This move would be the end of everything.

Meanwhile, Alm and Bruno turned to the inventory. Inside, all the souls were well-recovered, but still not enough to awaken. They saw Ruri floating, completely unconscious.

In the distant past, she was the catalyst that brought them together for the first time while they were in the abyss of the Pristine planet. Her influence made them do the impossible, synchronizing Yin and Yang.

Over time, that little girl that Bruno took in — just so Alm could soften — changed everything between them.

’She always saw us as something almost divine and invincible. We tried to live up to that vision, not wanting to disappoint her. We accomplished extremely complex feats throughout our journey, and now... maybe this is the way.’

’We reached the limit of a person’s natural capacity. Now, it’s just about breaking all the rules.’

After one last look at her, lasting a second, they returned to the real world, feeling the gigantic, indefensible spatial blade advancing toward them.

"Break..." they murmured, placing a hand on their chest.

*Crack!*

At that moment, their entire divine soul shattered like glass. All their Origin Law flowed out at once.

Alm and Bruno’s eyes shone brightly: one radiated Yang, the other Yin. With a decisive blink, the two poles merged, sealing their union.

And then, time froze. The Queen’s universe seemed to hold its breath. The fragmented souls of the two began to shine as if consumed by invisible flames. Every form of life, every energy, even the power of the heavenly laws suddenly seemed contained, immobilized under a suffocating pressure.

At an unimaginable distance, a pair of golden eyes opened. It turned in a direction, and a spark of astonishment crossed its gaze. For a brief moment, even that being shuddered at what it was witnessing.

Back to Alm and Bruno. That divine soul trembled on the brink of total collapse.

They knew it was all or nothing; they were, in fact, surrendering to a glorious suicide. And even as their essence was being consumed, there was an unshakable determination. To move forward, they needed to let go of everything — every fear, every attachment, every certainty.

This was more than just an attempt; it was a blind leap, an act of absolute faith in themselves, a total surrender to reach a power that transcended Wuji and Taiji. To do that, they could no longer be a common existence; they needed to break all the natural rules, all limitations.

With firm eyes, they proclaimed in an unwavering voice: "Break!"

*WHOOOSH!*

A visceral wave exploded. It wasn’t a destructive power, but just light and a strange energy. All living minds scattered throughout the vast universe felt an indescribable sensation, a silence so deep it seemed like the very pulsing of their hearts had stopped.

And in the small central world... at the center of it all...

A peculiar light was born, formless, changing color incessantly. A disparate and hypnotic energy, flickering between a wavering flame and a mass of pure energy.

Suddenly, the nine suns, which had been paralyzed until then, began to vibrate. Then, like an explosion of life, each sun fragmented into elemental runes. Everything flowed like a massive wave toward the small central world.

These runes seemed to be devoured by the mysterious form, one after another, as if feeding something that grew stronger by the second. In moments, all the laws disappeared.

The shapeless figure began to mold itself, condensing into a form that resembled a human shape.

In seconds, the final vision was of a humanoid entity, but different from any form of life. It was an intense, powerful light, almost divine but abnormal, radiating a brilliance that defied the very laws the universe knew.

’What the hell... did I accidentally turn into a wisp?’

’Now that I think about it, I’ve never seen this race, only in Earth’s legends... strange...’

After a sigh and feeling their new spiritual form, they waved at themselves. ’Now, I’ve completely transcended limitations and any duality.’

They felt one with the world, and with a simple thought, they could even feel the entire universe of the queen and every living being in it. It was as if they were the very heavenly laws... no, they were at the level of those who write the laws, able to mold them to their will.

’I’ll call this the Celestial state,’ they murmured. Then they looked up at a point above. ’Good name, huh?’

Something completely imperceptible to any living being, watching everything from a very distant place, had its gaze coming from that direction.

Alm and Bruno could see it clearly. It was a pair of golden eyes blinking slightly in their direction, watching them with curiosity.
