Everyone held their breath, waiting for the response of the two Sect Leaders.

"Hmph." The Primordial Elemental Spirit woman scoffed, opening her mouth, ready to answer.

"Do it." A cold voice accepted the proposal in her place. It came from one of the four ancestors floating above. The one who spoke was the former sect leader.

The four of them stared tensely at this unknown man. It wasn’t out of fear; rather, it was a strange, indefinable feeling. They couldn’t sense anything from him. The proof of his power was all around them. How could someone so powerful have such mediocre cultivation?

The other three ancestors nodded in agreement. This figure couldn’t be underestimated. If he didn’t fight back, they could seal him in an instant and find out everything about him. It didn’t matter if he’d keep his word; they just needed him to lower his guard for a second.

"Very well, we accept the wager." The two leaders took a deep breath and nodded.

"Good, I’m a man of my word… or maybe not." Alm smirked darkly. "Begin. I won’t run, so you won’t have to work too hard to catch me."

He kept climbing the steps slowly, with the poor leader following close behind, mind blank, just walking silently.

*Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!*

In the next second, a silver explosion lit up the sky. Countless strange lightning bolts descended brilliantly, with terrifying momentum.

Simultaneously, pillars of black ice, golden fire, and bloody winds appeared. The four ancestors had unleashed their self-made laws in full force.

Alm and Bruno studied those laws calmly. They stemmed from basic laws but had been shaped for other purposes, morphing into something abnormal. Having a micro-universe at their core was a great way to create unique laws, requiring only skill and knowledge, both of which they had in spades.

’If we manage to master this cultivation and create a perfect micro-universe... I’m afraid of what we could do,’ Bruno murmured mentally.

Alm’s eyes gleamed darkly: ’Excellent. An intermediate-level Divine Inquisitor is impressive enough. Their laws are stable and powerful; I’ll accept the gift.’

The unknown man wielded his sword again. Two tattoos on his fists pulsed with full power. Before, he’d only used a bit of it; now they’d have to go all out. From within his inventory, his own laws were triggered.

*Slash!*

The sword’s movement was perfect and smooth, gathering an overwhelming force at a single point, turning into a blow capable of splitting the world in half.

"NO!"

A scream echoed as the energy from the blow struck one of the ancestors, while the other three were violently pushed back. A massive Deepmonster man was hit, blood splattering everywhere, but he wasn’t split in two; he was still alive.

"Great Makrun has been injured!" a distant cultivator exclaimed, horrified.

In the next second, everyone saw the unknown man vanish from the steps.

Like a ghost, he appeared behind the wounded ancestor, thrusting his hand through his chest. He pulled something out, then threw him aside and disappeared again. In a flash, he was back on the steps, wearing a sinister grin.

"KILL HIM!" the other three roared in panic, urging the two stunned leaders to act.

The three ancestors unleashed every drop of energy toward the unknown man, their swords and sabers gleaming with destructive force. They sensed their laws had been mastered, so they attacked with hope, using their weapons.

Alm sighed lazily and once again released a simple horizontal strike with his sword.

*CRACK!*

The lights vanished instantly, replaced by a red scene. Blood splattered as the three ancestors nearly exploded, collapsing and covered in blood.

During this wave of attack, the two leaders moved closer to the group of disciples. Extremely fast, they grabbed the fire cauldrons and activated the flame runes toward the group.

Alm didn’t care in the slightest. He just scoffed, disappearing from the staircase.

"Ah!"

An ancient woman from the Yggdrasil race was falling from the sky when she screamed, feeling her chest being pierced. Her core and all her power were forcibly extracted.

In the next instant, an Immortal Lotus man hit the ground. But the sinister villain was already by his side, swiftly snatching his most precious essence, his blood spilling everywhere.

In the third second, the spectators watched, barely breathing, as the top of the central mountain was consumed by a sea of flame runes. The crackling fire surged, consuming the seven young disciples with relentless hunger.

"It’s over for them…" someone murmured, sighing in resignation.

But…

Despite what seemed like their final, terrible moments, no screams of pain or despair came from the seven disciples. Something eerily unusual was happening.

The flames, once uncontrollably violent, began to lose their fury. The dark red, wild fire calmed, shifting in color to a deep, almost mesmerizing blue.

"What is that…? Is it… Yin?" someone murmured in disbelief, sensing the change.

"No!" An alarmed voice broke the silence as the fourth ancestor, with a horrified expression, felt his core being brutally torn away. In seconds, his body reduced to a mist of blood, scattering into the air.

*Whoosh!*

Suddenly, the blue flames exploded in a massive wave, radiating power across the mountain.

"AAAAAH!"

Agonized screams tore through the air. When the fire finally died down, the scene revealed was terrifying: the two leaders were unrecognizable, their bodies charred and covered in glowing runes.

Each rune pulsed, emitting heat that slowly seared their skin, inch by inch, as the runes seemed to carve even deeper, reaching into their very souls.

The spectators watched, swallowing hard, shocked and terrified. The leaders’ screams were pure agony—a pain that seemed to go beyond flesh, striking right at the core of their spirits.

The mysterious man finally reached the top of the staircase, where he saw Ervly standing, her eyes glowing with blue Yin flames. The seven were perfectly fine, standing free and gazing at the two leaders without a trace of mercy.

"Pathetic," Alm spat, not sparing them a second glance. "I didn’t even need to come. You were already doomed to destruction because of them."

Bruno sighed. In truth, if Ervly and Sesel had attacked suddenly, giving no chance to react, they could’ve reduced this sect to ashes in seconds.

But that would’ve been too quick—they needed time for these sects to reveal their cards and for the ancestors to show up. That’s why both, understanding the plan, stayed in the game. The two clans had to reveal everything they had, and with those four defeated, Alm and Bruno could now ensure there were no other hidden dangers…

Until…

A few minutes earlier. Far away, on one of the Three Empires’ planets. A humanoid figure of an Alv man walked alone among the ruins of a city, while the Yin of death flowed everywhere.

It wasn’t just this city that was destroyed. This was the main planet of the Nine Secrets Empire, and no life remained. Everything had been wiped out, and all souls had their memories scoured—not just recent ones but from past lives too.

With the power of the reincarnation cycle from this place, this Alv had taken everyone to the sacred ground, extracting everything from them, even without mastering the Law of Origin. It was something only possible with these enslaved souls from this place, and of course, everyone died in the process.

It wasn’t just this empire, but the three main planets of the Three Empires; all had been annihilated by this single figure. He searched their memories, looking for events from the past and present.

Two-thirds of the life in the Three Empires had been lost in just over fifteen days for this purpose. The reason? He was tracking the source of the Yin and Yang tattoos’ power he had sensed.

Earlier, he had been in meditation when the power surged and disappeared in an instant. He couldn’t discover its origin, but if it had lasted a bit longer, he would’ve known where it came from. Unfortunately, he had to investigate everything to find out.

"Kakarotto… definitely an intruder. So, everything that happened before was his fault. If I felt it, that means he’s hiding somewhere…" The Alv spat with disdain.

He was born in this micro-universe and was the son of important figures, who had long ago perished during that apocalyptic event. Nobody knew of his existence nowadays. He became a Divine Inquisitor shortly after and secluded himself, cultivating alone in a hidden place above the planet.

Few knew, but upon reaching the peak cultivation level of Anima, one’s soul and life merge with the micro-universe. The cultivator becomes similar to an immortal artifact, and their body is no longer essential. As long as their core remains intact, they are a pseudo-immortal.

In the last moments, he had managed to advance. So he sent a call to the outer world, following the rules. However, after nearly seven thousand years, he still hadn’t received a response. So, he spent all this time waiting.

This isolation, however, wasn’t in vain. In the secret place, countless teachings had been left behind. It was the destination of Divine Inquisitors who reached the peak, preparing to depart. They learned about the outer world, about Qi, and common cultivation.

Incomplete Daos were also left there, hoping that a Divine Inquisitor with unique power could complete them. Among them was the Yin and Yang Supreme Qi Collector.

In that moment of reflection, he widened his eyes and looked up, sensing an unusual fluctuation.

"Is he on the Three Perks planet?"

The figure murmured, surprised. He had never imagined that the intruder would be so audacious. He thought he’d be hiding, fearing discovery, which was why he searched the Three Empires first.

In the next instant, he launched himself into the sky, racing at full speed.

Back to the present. Alm and Bruno’s eyes widened immediately; their instincts screamed—a solid and intense danger was approaching rapidly.

’Fuck… We did everything so carefully and perfectly,’ Bruno muttered, stunned.
