Mistie stayed silent next to the whale. She had always wondered how this figure could attract so much loyalty. Now, knowing that he was a legendary Heaven-Defier, famous for his immense power, but also for being equally arrogant and solitary, her curiosity only grew.

She had seen despair in the Dragons’ eyes before, but now, even she could feel hope blossoming in their hearts. ’Who would be crazy enough to defy the orders of someone so terrifying? And who would be dumb enough to risk themselves to help people they have no connection with?’ she thought.

But as she felt the whale’s aura, Mistie was certain of one thing: He would act. He was the kind of lunatic who ignored the rules. If something displeased him or seemed wrong, nothing would stop him from fighting.

The whale spoke seriously, "We only have three days, so I’ll be blunt. I can fix this easily, but I won’t. I don’t do anything for free, even if I could. It’s all going to depend on whether your race is trustworthy and capable. Everyone has to put in the effort to conquer, or when you’re on your own, you won’t know how to survive."

The dragons took a deep breath, staring at the whale. Something inside them told them that he could really change, destroy, or reverse everything if he thought it necessary. Maybe it was because he had once been a deity? They wondered, but that didn’t seem right.

"Sir, if there’s a way, we’ll do everything," Yulong quickly said.

The whale snorted. "You don’t get it. I’m not giving you a way; I’m testing you. Are you willing to fight the world if necessary? Is your will to protect your family strong enough?"

"I..." Yulong took a deep breath and looked at his most trusted allies. They all nodded. "Our sect has produced many heroes. They all have records of their journeys... but once they became heroes, something changed in them. Honor, kindness, loyalty... all the things our race cultivates so carefully. As soon as they became heroes, they changed completely..."

Mistie was surprised. She had only realized this after Bruno removed the influence over her, allowing her to think clearly. But had these Dragons noticed the real problem on their own? Watching their faces, it was clear they were willing to fight the heroes to protect themselves.

Alm and Bruno, on the other hand, had tried in the past to convince some people to fight against the heroes and knew how that ended. Just like Mistie, despite the ’heroic acts’ across the universe, no one dared to challenge these heroes.

But the Dragons had many records and followed a code of honor. Maybe that code was questionable, but everyone was taught to follow it and probably believed in it. When such a drastic change happens to everyone who became a hero, it was obvious something was wrong. In theory, anyone would know that it meant some kind of evil mental control, but...

Suddenly, Mistie felt something that made her break into a cold sweat. In a split second, something changed in Yulong’s eyes and in the other Dragons’. Their auras became turbulent, and then, as if nothing had happened, Yulong nodded and finished:

"These companions are just mortals who rode the coattails of the deity. The heroes aren’t here to fix things, and they don’t have the capability. Now they want to use others without hesitation. We must stop them. We’ll fight them!"

Mistie’s eyes widened. ’What was that?’ The problem was clearly with the heroes; the companions were just side characters. It was as if the Dragons had been following one path, but suddenly, someone had pushed them in another direction.

’Don’t be surprised. This is the same external influence you were under too. Even with all the evidence, they’ll never unite against the heroes.’ The whale’s voice echoed in Mistie’s mind, making her eyes widen even more. ’Luckily, the problem was only with one companion. This gave us a glimpse of what they really think.’

The whale then nodded slightly to the Dragons. "I’ll come to your Sect after I’ve made my preparations. Go and gather all the main Dragons, following that demon’s orders. If you pass my test, you’ll have a chance to survive."

"YES!" All the dragons roared in unison, bowing before the whale.

All the dragons left, and soon the whale gathered its allies in their building. To everyone’s surprise, Mistie was there and showed no intention of leaving.

This time, Alm and Bruno let her stay. The issue involved the entire Yinblood sect and the planet. Before, he would’ve done everything in secret, but now it seemed there was no chance she would betray the group.

Before they moved forward, Alm and Bruno handed the new primordial bloodline rune to Ruri, who absorbed it easily, completing her fourth internal rune—two with primordial power, one being an immortal-level spatial rune, and the last one a mental rune. Maybe they were feeding her too well, the two thought.

Once everyone knew the situation, the whale gave the initial orders. "Time is short. I’ve urgently summoned Almin; Nebai should bring him quickly. Everyone needs to go to the Twelve Peaks Forest and gather the same herbs he used to create his pill. Ruri and I will head to the sect to prepare the Dragons."

"Mistie, you need to get ready. To create the pill, we need a tribulation that can kill a cultivator in the Divine Sovereign Realm. You’ll be essential to attract the tribulation… and, of course, you have to survive it."

Mistie took a few seconds to process what was said. When she finally understood, she jumped in shock. However, she felt a hand gently holding her, and a calm voice reassured her: "I’ll be with you."

Everyone looked at Quirio, surprised by the new maturity on his face. ’She really did it,’ Bruno murmured, amazed. ’He was like Zaimo, just wanting to fight and fight without knowing why. But now, even without fully understanding, he found a reason for his battles.’

Alm snorted and controlled the whale: "Mistie, your last tribulation was when you were in the Divine Emperor Realm, advancing to the Divine Sovereign Realm. But a tribulation capable of killing someone at the peak of the Divine Sovereign Realm isn’t just powerful; it tests the body, mind, and spirit. A high-level cultivator can easily die, and a mid-level one…"

Mistie reflected on this, recalling the terrifying stories she had heard about such tribulations. It was very rare for a cultivator of that level to attract a tribulation.

"I’ll be honest; your chances of success are less than 1%," the whale said emotionlessly, glancing at Quirio and Mistie.

"She doesn’t have a strong physique; her soul, mind, and overall power are average, at best, compared to the cultivators in the universe. To me, she’s just trash; I can guarantee that any of my allies, even being one realm below Mistie, would already be twice as strong in everything. So, her survival depends on teamwork."

Mistie listened without being able to argue otherwise, but she looked at the whale with full confidence. "Why is that? I’ve always given my all… am I lacking talent?"

"Talent just gives a starting boost; cultivation is about constantly advancing. Having a good start doesn’t mean much in the end. Your main problem is that your natural power has been completely destroyed. You are a pure Fey, and the Feys are the manifestation of the fusion between nature and the Yang of natural life. But if you had a different appearance, just from your aura, anyone would swear you were a low-level hybrid."

"The Feys of this planet live in an environment that goes against their own nature. While the protection of living here has allowed your race to thrive, it has contaminated your bloodlines and weakened you. Additionally, you have incorporated blood from another race into your bodies. Being from a Primordial Dragon brought benefits, like control over Yin and faster cultivation. But, in the long run, those benefits are insignificant."

"To simplify, it’s like being born with Yang mastery at level 10 and instead of improving it, you chose to train Yin at level 0. Thanks to Dragon blood, the Yin rose to level 10 after a lot of effort. But in return, you completely lost the potential of Yang, which could have been even higher with less effort. The consequences of this were your weakness compared to what you could be and the total corruption of your bloodline. That completely limited you."

The whale paused, watching Mistie’s reaction. The Yinblood sect was in the top 20 because they could live on Gloom planet without fear of attacks, and with the help of primordial blood, they produced more peak cultivators than average. They weren’t powerful, but their mortality rate was lower than that of other sects, and their cultivation was slightly faster.

She was stunned. She had always tried her best and lived believing that the benefit of cultivating a bit faster than others was something divine.

Compared to the cultivators of the universe, she was nothing more than average. And, thinking more deeply, in the entire history of the sect, they hadn’t produced a single outstanding Fey in the universe, something that several smaller sects had managed to do.

After laying out the reality, Alm said seriously: "The solution is to completely remove that extra blood in you. Quirio also needs to remove all the Yin that has contaminated your bloodline."

Mistie and Quirio stared at the whale, absorbing every word with total seriousness and confidence.

"Quirio has an innate talent for controlling Yin, and his manifestation was created to absorb external Yin. With effort, you can succeed."

The whale finished and looked firmly at his brother, but discreetly sent a mental message to Mistie. Removing the Yin and corrupted blood was like emptying a dirty pool. Then, it was necessary to refill it with clean water. So, the Everlasting Link created by Bruno was secretly handed to her.

This technique was developed to be used with Ruri, merging the three life energies of the couple, boosting both sides’ power. It was the solution to deliver and improve what she lacked. And mentally, using the technique would connect them and stabilize their will.

In an instant, Mistie understood how it should be practiced, her eyes widening as she looked at the whale. Alm and Bruno remained silent, confident that she would know what to do.

"Everyone has work to do. We only have three days. Ruri, let’s go."

Alm said, taking Ruri’s hand, then left without looking back. Bruno mentally prayed for his brother’s sanity. Or maybe not… those two seemed to have a peculiar role-reversal dynamic. But it was better not to imagine.
