The wave of attack carrying the laws of that little world hit the group abruptly and violently. Among them were hundreds of high-level cultivators, almost all at the peak of divine cultivation. However, none of them managed to react in time.

*BOOM!*

The impact made the ground tremble, like countless steel needles colliding against a wall of earth, mixed with the sound of thousands of ice blocks exploding at once. A chilling mist and a cloud of dust spread in opposite directions, with the group at the center.

"Oh?" A surprised voice came from the draconic shadow.

The shadow huffed, and a gust of wind blew, dispersing the mist and dust, revealing the situation.

All the powerful cultivators were completely paralyzed, unable to move. However, two figures with low cultivation stood firm, radiating an intense primordial aura.

One of them was a huge, round figure with eyes pulsing a earthy brown tone. Next to him was a creature that barely reached one meter tall.

According to the description of the Primordial Demonic Beast, the Leviathan, it should have the form of a colossal, terrifying fish, with razor-sharp fangs like divine blades, cutting claws on its front paws, and a tail adorned with spikes completing its predatory appearance. However, the creature next to this figure was far from that.

Its body had only traces of that description: small claws on its front paws and a row of spines on its back that had barely started to grow. These details didn’t give it a threatening look.

Its dark scales looked smooth and shiny, as if they were still developing, and its large, round eyes softly reflected the light, contrasting with the rest of its body in an almost childlike way.

’What the hell...? Where’s that big guy?’ Bruno thought, sensing the presence behind him.

That was Heze’s true form. Far from being imposing, his human metamorphosis had only been designed to intimidate, and with his powerful bloodline, it did create a strong impression. But now, everything was crumbling. He was just a very young beast, and his appearance made it hard to take him seriously.

"Two primordial bloodlines so dense?" The shadow’s voice sounded doubtful. "You’re the kids of those mediocre beasts... This means those two idiots decided to surrender..."

Suddenly, the atmosphere became even more suffocating and furious. "Great, looks like I found an unexpected luck. The fun will be double."

"RUN!" Heze roared, activating his primordial bloodline to the max.

The power of his bloodline combined with the laws of water spread through the air at full force. Alm and Bruno watched in awe. That young guy had something they didn’t: two internal primordial runes. His body was completely compatible with primordial energy, which meant he had perfectly rebuilt his body with primordial power, similar to what the whale had done in the past.

From Heze’s appearance and power, it was clear he was, indeed, the son of the Leviathan. His power wasn’t empty, but his looks were deceiving.

Heze began to burn his bloodline, using everything he had. This created an aura that enveloped everyone present, allowing their Qi to move again, and they could finally get moving.

The elderly-looking human who led the group took a deep breath and turned around, shouting, "Quick! Someone needs to warn the world! This is bigger than our lives, RUN!"

The heroes’ companions didn’t even wait for him to finish the sentence. They were already fleeing, desperate. They all ran in the same direction but kept as much distance as possible between each other.

"Fleeing? Hehehe..." The shadow’s hissing voice sounded, and a supreme Yin plunged that world into total darkness.

Only cold and mortal despair existed. Black blades sprouted from the void toward the fugitives. In the same instant, dozens of screams of agony and terror echoed through the air.

"No! Ah!"

"STOP!" Heze roared, transforming into a pillar of light in the midst of the darkness. "GO!"

In seven different people, a shine appeared in their eyes. They felt Heze’s power move through a magical connection, protecting them from all the black blades. The human who led them was one of those protected, and, satisfied, he ran without looking back. Only his voice echoed:

"Someone needs to send the message! The protector’s soul has been destroyed! Without that, his power is ownerless, and the seal is weakening. This nefarious Dragon is slowly gathering Qi. The seal must be reinforced quickly, or he will break free!"

His words sounded among the desperate screams coming from all sides. They were so terrifying that the seven protected ones ran with expressions of dread.

All the cultivators who had arrived were being killed one by one, and from the pain they conveyed, being hit by those black blades didn’t seem to lead to a quick or simple death.

The Shadow of the Chaos Yin Dragon didn’t possess its full power. It was only using a minimal fragment of its soul, managing to manipulate the laws and the ownerless draconic energy of that place. It could start to gather Qi slowly, but it hadn’t had enough time to accumulate much.

Right now, his power was limited. Even though he could expertly use Yin and completely seal the cultivation of mortals, the young Leviathan, with his primordial bloodline, could temporarily resist while burning his own bloodline.

But that shouldn’t be anything—it would only take a few minutes for Heze to burn all his energy and be killed. However, magically, he managed to share his strength with seven people.

The shadow of the Dragon was getting angrier and more frustrated. Those seven were running too fast and would reach the exit before Heze’s power ran out.

Suddenly, the shadow’s eyes widened. "Where the hell did that Behemoth’s kid go?" It looked around, searching for something, but found nothing. "Wasn’t there a Fey with him?"

How was it possible for him to disappear, and she couldn’t find him? As she pondered, the shadow felt a presence suddenly emerge at a distant point. She turned her gaze...

*Slash...*

A dry, almost inaudible sound mixed with the screams of despair. None of the invaders saw or realized what happened, but suddenly, the head of the elderly-looking human was sliced off. Blood gushed upward, and he fell dead.

Shortly after, his body completely vanished, swallowed by the void. Only a faint flutter was felt by the shadow. "That... felt like my technique? No... it was different."

Heze felt that through the connection he had; he turned around, dazed, and didn’t see the figure. Contracting the death of that man hit him hard. He and the other seven were companions of the same hero. There was a secret technique among them that allowed them to easily share Qi and power.

"Shit... no... Mr. Gistei..." The young guy murmured, tears filling his eyes. "I’ll save everyone!"

His roar echoed, revealing his naivety and the chaos of the situation. It was clear that Heze had never faced something so despairing. He had never needed to fight at 100%, let alone burn his bloodline to the max.

His mind was a mess, and everything unfolded in less than a minute. He didn’t even notice that the whale, the one who had once used a bloodline equally powerful as his, was nowhere to be found.

The danger message needed to be sent to the world. Without heroes in the universe, the remaining companions were the only ones who could ask for help. If everyone died, the reaction would take too long, and the Dragon could escape in that time.

However, witnessing the death of someone so close made the young guy clench his fists tightly. Inside, he didn’t care at all about delivering the message. He only mourned the death of a close companion, and he felt weak for not having saved him.

At that moment, Heze’s life began to burn away. It was like oil being thrown onto a flame. The power of his primordial bloodline and Yin suddenly multiplied. The six survivors felt that force protecting them and sighed in relief, running as fast as they could.

Another minute passed since the attack. In that short span of time, the screams ceased... everyone who had tried to flee, except for the six, no longer existed.

Heze sighed, feeling his existence fading. In a matter of seconds, his bloodline and life would come to an end.

"Dad, I’m sorry..." he murmured, his eyes trembling.

Many would say he sacrificed himself honorably, as a worthy companion of the hero. But deep down...

"I honored your bloodline, Dad... I managed to save a few, but I completely failed to meet your expectations. Forgive me..." he murmured in pain until something came to his mind. "Wait, where is..."

His words were interrupted as he lost consciousness. But it wasn’t from exhaustion or death. A round figure appeared behind him, holding him with an enigmatic look.

’He really isn’t what he seems,’ Bruno reflected calmly.

Alm and Bruno heard Heze’s murmurs and felt his fluctuations clearly. Even as a companion of the hero, Heze sacrificed himself because he wanted to save as many as he could.

At that very moment, the six managed to escape safely.

On the whale’s shoulder, clinging to his clothes, was Mistie, completely stunned in her true form, just a few centimeters tall.

Her little heart was racing uncontrollably. She didn’t know if it was because of that imposing presence above or what she witnessed the whale do. She felt safe by his side, but at the same time, a cold, divine aura emanated from him. Her instincts screamed in certainty: that figure she trusted was definitely not what he said he was.

A powerful roar echoed from the shadow of the Chaos Yin Dragon: "You! How the hell can you hide from my senses!?"
