[Conquer the four ancestral legacies in the Void World.]

[Reward 01: 20 Upgrade Points]

[Reward 02: 10 Celestial Points]

[Accept?] [Yes / No]

’Ancestral Legacy? Excellent, if they exist, we came to the right place,’ said Bruno, excited.

Alm thought seriously. ’Void World... not the Void Forest. There might be a connection, but we can’t be sure.’

’Maybe the answer lies within the forest. And if the system specifies that it’s in this other place, then we don’t need to get into a direct conflict with the four nations. Or it would be impossible,’ Bruno added.

The two agreed. Since they were there, they would gain as much as they could. They accepted the mission, and now they had two optional missions active at the same time, for the first time.

The whale moved quickly toward the city’s exit; his entire group was focused outside this place. At the same time, they saw numerous cultivators running in the same direction as him.

At the gates, some guards watched the excitement with amusement. One of them commented, "Today’s young ones are too reckless. Too bad they ran into a steel wall. They dared to go against the Young Leader of the Kun Peng... being arrogant without knowing your limits leads to this."

Bruno snorted at hearing this, but Alm had an idea and laughed sinisterly. The whale passed by the guards. Outside the city, he saw a sea of cultivators of various races surrounding and pointing their weapons in a single direction.

In the sky, a massive figure radiated an ancestral presence; it was a Kun Peng. These creatures are enormous and resemble hybrids of fish and birds. They have bodies similar to fish, but their pectoral fins have been replaced by bird-like wings.

It was a beast that was initially marine but, after reaching a certain level of cultivation, would ascend its bloodline and undergo a metamorphosis, gaining traits of aerial beasts. It was a very ancient race, and its power was extreme. Its wings were capable of piercing through space and breaking the void easily, giving it limitless potential.

That Kun Peng spoke in a booming voice: "You dare interfere in my royal family’s business! I, Kun B..."

Slash!

In the middle of his words, a slash cut across the skies, and that giant figure widened his eyes and flapped his wings. The void shattered, and he appeared instantly many meters away.

At that second, he turned to a human woman on the ground. She hadn’t even drawn her weapon; how did that attack just happen?

Kaiyka sighed, surprised that he dodged. It was the first time anyone had managed to evade her strike.

"Kun bastard; your name suits you," a voice full of disdain sounded. That figure turned to Ruri, and the sound of a katana being unsheathed echoed.

Everyone around heard it, and their expressions became strange. Was a human crazy enough to go against this invincible race? The figure spat: "How dare you? Fine, fine; I’ll personally show you the difference between us."

The skies trembled. On the Kun Peng’s wings and head, a strange light shone, forming a sharp arrow. The spatial laws contorted; that was the high-level space-time power coming from this race.

At that moment, he burst forth with all his strength, without any restraint. Ruri saw it, becoming curious. The rest of the group was close to her, looking at the sky as if they were watching a clown at the circus.

Despite his extreme mastery over space-time laws, Kun Peng’s control over his abilities was unstable and wasteful of energy. He was in the Divine Origin Realm, a realm above Ruri, but if only Ruri attacked him, he would be defeated in a single strike. He was an arrogant young master who considered himself superior to everyone and had never had to fight for his life, attacking with everything and wasting much of his power.

*BANG!*

With a deafening sound in the sky, the beast smashed one of its wings at a small human figure holding a katana. But everyone was shocked. That gigantic beast was blocked and couldn’t advance a single inch.

Kun Peng was startled to realize that the human could compete with him. Ruri smiled sarcastically, her eyes turning a shade of violet. Immediately, the beast felt its strength draining away.

*BOOM!*

A terrifying explosion shook the earth, and spectators ran in fear. The enormous Kun Peng was knocked down from the sky as if it were an insignificant being. Its blood splattered everywhere, and a huge crater appeared.

Ruri held back because she didn’t want to kill and cause trouble for her master. She snorted, sheathed her katana, and prepared to leave. But the space cracked, and the earth rose. The bloodied figure roared frantically, rising again.

"I PROMISE I’LL DESTROY EVERYTHING CONNECTED TO YOU!"

The furious voice echoed, and everyone around shivered. That’s when laughter echoed amidst that suffocating silence. People looked at the group in the center and saw those outsiders laughing as if they had heard the most ridiculous joke in the world.

Ruri snorted dryly. Did this bastard just threaten her master? Her eyes went blood red; he was tired of living.

’Don’t kill him,’ the whale’s voice echoed through the array.

Ruri jumped, recognizing the voice. ’Y-yes.’

’Tear off his wings. They have the core runes of his bloodline, and all his space-time power comes from them. That’ll be very useful for you to study,’ the whale said, and Ruri widened her eyes, as she was about to waste something so valuable.

’He seems to be someone important. If you don’t kill him, his race will sacrifice the bloodline of weaker ones for him to absorb, and then he’ll create new mutant wings. Afterward, you can rip the wings off again. The mutant wings will initially be weaker; by comparing the original runes with the mutation, it’ll be easier to learn everything. That way, you can fully study his spatial laws.’

She clenched her fists and faced the figure in the sky. Their eyes met, and the Kun Peng froze, feeling a primal fear.

Ruri snorted, and the world changed color. A lotus appeared spinning in the sky, and the young fool immediately turned to stone. He was like a fish out of water, helpless and completely subdued.

The entire body of the Kun Peng was completely invaded by Ruri’s mental power in an instant. He had no defense against it, and his willpower was ridiculously low. He turned into just a giant piece of meat, and even though Ruri didn’t have a powerful physique, he was as fragile as a mortal in her hands.

Everyone was stunned by the change. Then they watched the small human take a step; her figure blurred, and the space distorted.

*CRACK!!!*

Everyone heard a terrifying sound and turned to the beast’s right wing. The small human was there, and using her arms, she brutally pulled and ripped that wing off.

"Ah!" The Kun Peng woke up from his stupor and let out a terrifying howl of pain.

*CRACK!!*

With another step, Ruri reached the other wing and slowly tore it off. Another roar of pain echoed, and everyone in the whale’s group watched and nodded slightly.

She could have cut it with her katana, but that would be something dry and almost painless. Doing it this way would be brutal and painful; a good lesson for that bastard. He only got away alive today because the whale saved him, or no one in the group would have agreed to let him go after his words.

"Your lungs are pretty healthy. Stop being dramatic; you won’t die anytime soon," Ruri said dryly, storing the torn-off pair of wings and then clicking her tongue.

"You dare humiliate the Kun Pengs! My race will annihilate you and your whole family!" He roared, his eyes almost popping out of their sockets when he saw his wings were torn off.

"A pair of wings for your life. I’m letting you off easy. Get out of here." Ruri spat and kicked, making his giant body fly away.

Only the distant sound of something massive crashing into a mountain could be heard. All the spectators were frozen in shock; defeating that figure was already considered impossible. Humiliating him by ripping off his wings was like spitting in the face of the entire imperial family.

With a single look from Ruri, everyone trembled and ran in the direction of the Kun Peng to rescue him.

The whale approached the group. In Calirer’s arms, he saw a young humanoid boy with white feathers covering his body, and he was covered in blood. She spotted the whale and spoke:

"Sir, this poor..."

"He’s a half Immortal Crane. Let’s head back to the city first, or things will get dangerous," the whale spoke quickly, and everyone moved.

They passed by the guards, who watched them with tense looks. The whale had an idea who that young boy was and led the group toward the western area of the city.

Everyone was confused, but within minutes a small group of five beasts appeared before them with distorted expressions.

"Brother Nenuo!"

All approached with trembling, worried eyes. Calirer, holding Nenuo, calmed them: "We’ve given him some healing pills; he’ll be fine."

All five sighed in relief. One of them turned to the group and spoke, stunned: "You saved him? Did he recruit you?"

Everyone in the group was confused by the question; they had no idea who the boy was. Kaiyka had sensed with her divine soul someone running for their life outside the city. He was a very young and weak hybrid, and his aura was pure and without malice. The whole group decided to save him, but he was already unconscious when they arrived.

"Yes, we temporarily separated, and then everything happened. But it’s all okay now. Could you take us to our group?" The whale, now sure of who the boy was, spoke with confidence.

"Group?" One of them was doubtful, then thought of something and grimaced painfully: "Brother... he couldn’t have tricked you into getting recruited. Sister will be very angry. Sorry, there is no group; it’s just the five of us."

The whale replied calmly: "Don’t worry, he didn’t manage to fool us. We accepted anyway and just want a place to rest; we don’t mind that."

The eyes of the five brightened with excitement. It was a large group; they seemed to know how to fight and would be of great help. They quickly checked young Nenuo’s condition. Then they guided them to a location west of the city, then changed course to the center, heading toward the distortion.

They moved calmly; the city was large. Through the array, the whale explained to everyone who the young man named Nenuo was. He was one of the twin hybrids of the Immortal Crane imperial race. One of the four great ancestral nations. Then, he gave a summary of the panorama of that galaxy.

After almost an hour, they reached an area near the distortion at the heart of the city. One of the guides seemed to send a message, and within seconds the distortion opened as if a door appeared. They all moved together and crossed through.

On the other side, they found themselves in a very large separate world, perhaps even larger than this entire planet. An ancient and ancestral air made everyone take a deep breath, stunned. The whale and Corin were the most affected; those laws and fluctuations were very, very close to the primal universe where Corin was born and lived.
