The whale and everyone in the group felt and saw the presence of that entity with impressive clarity, as if it were just a few meters away. Its presence was overwhelming, like a celestial mountain, against which no life would dare to blaspheme.

The infernal figure roared and moved slowly, with no apparent direction or purpose. Its speed was so slow it seemed purposeless. There was something extremely strange about that sight. Despite its monstrous appearance, Alm and Bruno felt that the creature had no trace of life. There were no fluctuations, whether negative or positive, just an absolute void. It was like looking at a specter, an illusion. It seemed like a ghost ship sailing aimlessly in a sea of desolation.

However, the golden spatial channels vibrated with their laws. Their presence was not being affected, but the heroic presence became increasingly distinct.

’Shit, we’ve got at most two minutes until they arrive,’ Bruno said quickly, his desperation evident.

What was that? This level of power was clearly above the celestial laws; if they had to guess, it was related to the queen. And with the spatial channels present and everything happening right now, the obvious conclusion was that they had been caught and cornered.

Then, through the array, the whale noticed a weak voice connecting with him. He turned to Ruri and saw her face contorted and drenched in sweat. She was making a superhuman effort to try to communicate.

Her body was sealed, and without Qi, she couldn’t communicate through the array. But a golden rune pulsed on her forehead. She clenched her fists, and her whole body turned red with effort. The golden rune glowed brighter and brighter until...

Crack!

The rune on her forehead cracked and quickly reconstructed itself, now slightly larger and pulsing with a power a thousand times more intense.

’She advanced?!’ Alm and Bruno exclaimed in unison.

The power of an Empyrean, created by them, grew stronger according to the user’s Dao Heart. Ruri, with her own willpower, broke through the barrier and reached the level above a Conqueror, known as an Ancestral Empyrean. But they still didn’t know what advantages this level had.

’Master... Amary... knows what this is,’ Ruri murmured, exhausted. She took a deep breath and quickly explained everything she had heard.

The terrifying figure in the sky was something legendary that Amary had seen only once, just before all the misfortune that befell him. It was called the "Phantom Calamity."

Anyone who saw a calamity was struck by misfortune. Worse, they couldn’t even mention the calamity, or the celestial laws seemed to curse them and want to kill them to silence them. Only someone who had seen a calamity could talk about it with another who had also seen it.

Amary was sure that there were other calamities, but he didn’t know how many or what they were exactly. How did he know this? There was a strict rule for all major powers in the universe: if you saw something abnormal, you should contact a hero immediately.

All sects knew this, but they didn’t understand why. Only those who had seen a calamity and contacted the heroes understood. The heroes investigated everything the cultivator had seen in detail. Amary got this information through their investigations and found out, from the heroes’ hints, that there were other calamities.

The heroes took this very, very seriously, focusing on every detail. It seemed of extreme importance to them, as if it were the mission of their lives.

At the time, Amary was curious and greedy, wanting to understand why it was so important. With his arrogance, he decided to investigate the other calamities in the universe since he knew they existed. The human hero discovered everything, and Amary didn’t try to hide his greed when questioned. The result was the true calamity that befell him.

Alm and Bruno listened attentively as Ruri spoke as fast as she could; thirty seconds passed.

’If the heroes are really investigating this and it’s beyond the celestial laws... then it’s not under the queen’s control...’ Alm thought coldly.

Bruno nodded, perplexed. What exactly was that, and why the queen couldn’t control it was a mystery. But it meant that the heroes were hunting this entity, and now that it showed up here, they were after it, not them.

However, once the heroes arrived, they couldn’t escape discreetly anymore. The heroes’ power would allow them to sense any escape and hunt them down. Staying put would be problematic too, as they’d be investigated. How were these Yinblood sect disciples, who should be in the sealed world, here? And what were they doing? It would become evident, and other questions would naturally arise.

Bruno spat. ’We’re screwed. If this is as unpredictable as it seems, we’ve hit unprecedented bad luck...’

Suddenly, the Phantom Calamity in the sky made a strange move. Its wings flapped, and a power of cosmic proportions spread throughout the solar system, like an apocalypse. The planet shook violently in response.

"NO!"

Muffled screams echoed. The demonic cultivators around the planet were directly hit and exploded into a mist of black blood.

Alm and Bruno breathed a sigh of relief. If it weren’t for that ’shield’ of flesh around the planet, their allies would be in serious danger. They looked at the ghostly chimera and prayed it wouldn’t do that again.

All its movements seemed random, and it just trembled and moved. However, with that wing movement, they noticed something strange. It was a familiar feeling, and they focused on sensing the fluctuations near the wings that had been triggered.

One minute left...

They used all the energy they had. That feeling was the only thing they could cling to. It was ephemeral and almost illusory, but they were sure they had seen something similar before.

Where? They focused and noticed a strange distortion around the wings. There were lines that looked like light, similar to when space rips, but clearly not spatial laws. It was something of a higher level.

’Light... wait! Holy Light Law?!’ Bruno exclaimed, remembering the law.

This law was created by Coltia, using all her power when she was still an immortal cultivator. The queen placed it in a formation to refine her life and power in an attempt to create something anomalous. She succeeded, and the new law was conceived, but Coltia survived and saved her soul using the power of this law.

This law allows the creation of an infinite amount of light. The light can be used offensively, gathering the light from the environment and shooting beams at an enemy; or defensively, creating spatial rifts. Within its rune and law, things can be completely hidden from the world. It’s a capability superior to spatial laws.

’Above spatial laws... then that feeling...’ Alm reflected seriously.

Without wasting time, Bruno turned to Ruri. "Bring Coltia out, fast!"

Ruri nodded, taking a deep breath. Without Qi, opening the beast world for her to come out seemed impossible. But, using the new power of an Ancestral Empyrean, she substituted Qi with her willpower.

It was a colossal effort, and Ruri staggered; the whale caught her and placed her on its back on the opposite side of Rehvka. But the beast world was opened. Then, a small white and furry figure appeared.

"Coltia, feel the laws in the wings. It has a connection with your Holy Light Law," the whale said quickly.

30 seconds left.

Alm and Bruno focused on the tense spatial channels. The heroes would soon emerge, and they were defenseless and cornered.

The Phantom Calamity seemed to sense this and began to agitate strangely. Alm and Bruno took a deep breath; if it flapped its wings again, they might all die. Fortunately, it only stirred, and several lines of light appeared around it.

The round, black eyes of the Silkworm trembled. Coltia murmured. "This..." She waved, and then countless light runes appeared around her and vibrated radiantly.

The whale’s eyes widened; the law wasn’t being suppressed!

"It’s not the same, but I feel a subtle connection... And my laws seem stronger?" Coltia murmured, doubtful. "It’s like my law is a simplified version..."

Suddenly, the environment was covered in golden light. Alm and Bruno turned to the tense spatial channels. Time was up...
