Alm and Bruno needed to assess their gains and plan their next steps more carefully, as their initial plans in the divine world had completely failed. First, they considered the system, and a green screen appeared.

[Available Upgrade Points: 120]

[Available Celestial Points: 50]

They immediately agreed on the celestial points; they had saved 20 points left over after returning to the queen’s universe, but they weren’t enough to use. Now, with enough points for the resurrection miracle, they decided to keep them for an emergency, as they could bring them back from a desperate situation.

Next, they thought about the upgrade shop, and the windows appeared.

[Level 1 Options: 05]

[Level 2 Options: 04]

[Level 3 Options: 01]

[Level 4 Options: 03]

[Level 5 Options: 02]

Their priority upon arriving in the divine world and learning about the sealed worlds was to buy the Formation God’s Dao for Ruri; this would greatly help them cultivate by stealing treasures from those places.

’Now isn’t the time to buy the fifth level of mental cultivation. Ruri should focus on formations and spatial laws. Her law is starting to fall far behind,’ Alm said lightly. She’ll have the chance to study spatial laws in the sect when she returns.

Bruno agreed and added, ’We haven’t fully explored the fourth level of the Forge God’s Dao yet. We’ve gained many materials to enhance it recently with the golems. Buying the Dao of the Immortal Armament God for Liumi and the others will benefit us more at the moment.’

They both agreed not to buy anything at the fifth level; the focus should be on the basics. So, they opened the fourth-level options.

[Level 4] [Supreme Physical Cultivation Technique: FiendGod’s Hegemony] [20 Upgrade Points]

[Level 4] [God Alchemist’s Dao] [50 Upgrade Points]

[Level 4] [Devouring God Spatial Technique] [30 Upgrade Points]

’We don’t know when we’ll encounter Almin again, and the inventory technique we have has already turned into something completely different from the original. Luckily, we’ve completed physical cultivation; it’s good to have it in case we get lucky to advance it,’ Alm analyzed.

The only third-level option was the Gaia God’s Dao. Perhaps something useful would arise if their planet’s Gaias learned this level, but it was very uncertain, and they were concerned with increasing their power in a guaranteed and quick way. Soon, the second-level options appeared.

[Level 2] [Formation God’s Dao] [45 Upgrade Points]

[Level 2] [Immortal Armament God’s Dao] [30 Upgrade Points]

[Level 2] [Beastly Blood Refinement Technique: Universal Hybrid] [30 Upgrade Points]

[Level 2] [Celestial Dual Cultivation Technique: Exchange of Essences of the Harem God] [05 Upgrade Points]

’Hm? It seems that after our weapons evolved and connected with us, the system considers that we’ve also learned the Dao of the Immortal Armament. That’s great, it saves us points,’ Bruno thought calmly.

Alm thought about the others seriously: ’The Formation God’s Dao has dropped in price a bit; we’ve been dealing with many formations lately, our improved knowledge has helped slightly. The Beast Blood Refinement might be useful, but the points aren’t enough. As for this dual cultivation one... the system is practically handing it to us for free.’

The two sighed. Perhaps the price reflected how perfected their skill in that technique had become. They always had long and intense practices, and even using another technique based on it, they still refined the foundation to the extreme. But they couldn’t complain; it was indeed very useful. Without needing to discuss between them, they were already set on buying the next level; Ruri would love to enhance this technique.

There should be some points left, so they looked at the level one options:

[Thief God’s Dao] [10 Upgrade Points]

[Beast Tamer God’s Dao] [20 Upgrade Points]

[Human God’s Dao] [20 Upgrade Points]

[Dragon’s Son Dao] [20 Upgrade Points]

[Vital Poison Technique] [20 Upgrade Points]

The two eyed the new techniques in surprise. Just from the names, it was hard to be certain, but all seemed useful.

’Dragon’s Son Dao... perhaps Ruri will benefit from this when we acquire the other scales," Bruno reflected. "Vital Poison, we’ve heard of; perhaps Kisala can use it to heal allies during battle, saving us from expending faith power.’

’The Human God’s Dao seems like a safer choice to me. Many of us have human blood to some degree, maybe even Corin could benefit from it. Though it’s hard to say what will come of it,’ Alm said seriously.

The two thought briefly. The level one options were always cheap. If they completed some optional quests, they’d probably have enough to buy another one. For now, they went with the safer options.

[Accept? Yes / No]

They accepted quickly, and in the next moment, a dense amount of information bloomed directly into their minds. Alm and Bruno read everything attentively. Soon enough, they nodded in satisfaction.

’The Human God’s Dao basically amplifies all the few natural abilities that humans excel in. The potential to easily blend with other bloodlines is greatly enhanced, which will make the extra bloodline even more dominant,’ Bruno commented lightly. ’Rehvka and Kaiyka won’t benefit much, but Ruri, Calirer, Quirio, and we will gain from this.’

Alm nodded. Only in the future would they both discover that they had forgotten about another human ability, greatly amplified. But by then, it would be too late.

Now they both turned to their other gains. They entered the inventory and approached the chaos tree. Every leaf on that tree contained a faint rune that released a powerful and unrecognizable fluctuation.

They observed the 18 Genesis fruits calmly. The fruits were fist-sized and covered with runes emitting dense fluctuations.

These fruits had grown after they killed the bodies of all those being used inside the central mountain, in the main quest. They speculated that the celestial blessings the queen granted to heroes were the fuel to generate these fruits. But there were far more than 18 heroes.

’What utility do these fruits have?’ They both thought at the same time. They were made from blessings coming from celestial laws. The queen must use this in her universe for Empyreans to level up until they become heroes. Soon, the most obvious idea made them excited.

Alm spoke quickly, ’There might only be 18 because the tree accumulated everyone’s blessings into them. And what if we could do the same as the queen using these fruits? Sounds too good, we have to test it.’

They currently had Basic and True Empyreans, so they called Ruri and Quirio to test.

The two approached and each received a fruit. Bruno already had some accumulated faith power from his other planet; if things went wrong, he could regenerate it. They both swallowed that strange fruit without hesitation.

Alm and Bruno watched attentively with their souls for any changes. It took a few seconds, then the rune of an Empyrean lit up on their foreheads without them activating it.

Suddenly, Quirio’s rune just went out. Alm and Bruno were confused, but Alm quickly thought of something and looked at the inventory. Immediately he counted the fruits on the chaos tree, then spoke thoughtfully.

’A new one has sprouted, we now have 17.’

They focused on Ruri. Her rune was still radiant, illuminating the cave. Until a soft sound of something cracking echoed... then, the rune on her forehead changed. Alm and Bruno immediately widened their eyes.

’The rune now looks very similar to what those demons possessed... this fruit really... really turned a True Empyrean into a Conqueror,’ Bruno said in disbelief.

Both were incredibly excited. They felt the despair of seeing how robbed a Conqueror was; and this was only the second level. They only knew how to create the rune of an Empyrean in their allies, how the hell they were going to make them evolve was a serious problem. Only the queen could do that, but now they had received this gift.

’Basically, we should steal the blessings the queen gave to the Empyreans or Heroes, and thus gain new fruits. Stealing, killing, excellent,’ Alm said maliciously.

Bruno sighed, while Ruri’s rune stabilized and went out. He wasted no time and handed her another fruit. She was still stunned, but swallowed it quickly... and then... nothing happened.

’It sprouted again, back to 17,’ Alm confirmed after counting in the inventory. ’Maybe the level of those bodies we destroyed is low. Or it needs another requirement...’

Bruno agreed with the latter part. Quirio was still a Basic Empyrean, meaning he hadn’t manifested his form. That was the only difference between him and Ruri.

To confirm, they called Corin and Zaimo. The two swallowed the fruits. Then, opposite phenomena occurred. Corin’s rune elevated, and Zaimo, nothing happened.

’This confirms everything. The fruit only works for a True Empyrean; that term isn’t just random. Basic level doesn’t even count as an Empyrean,’ Bruno reflected calmly. ’If it’s not True, it doesn’t work. And since Ruri didn’t advance, the fruit for the next level must be more powerful. It’s either all or nothing; you can’t stack fruits, because the tree takes back the karmic blessing and creates another fruit.’

Alm nodded. ’In other words, we have to steal power by destroying that of the most powerful. Seems like a great method.’

’We’ll only kill those who target us... although we’re unlikely to not be targeted... oh well, screw it,’ Bruno muttered.

After completing the tests, a new meeting took place with everyone in the group. First of all, Alm and Bruno internally bled and felt an unmatched pain, but they put everyone who wasn’t in the array inside it.

In the last battle against Dem Zarn, their reluctance to do this had harmed them, and it could have been fatal. With everyone in the array, many essential benefits would come.

They explained the fruit to everyone. Then, Rehvka received one and leveled up in front of everyone. The three who were now Conqueror Empyreans were ecstatic; they would have pseudo-immortality in battle, which seemed very good. But Bruno made a point to comment:

"Rehvka and Kaiyka can kill a Conqueror. In the future, we’ll encounter many who must possess the same ability. Don’t fight assuming you’ll respawn or it could be fatal."

The three nodded understandingly; it was a bonus for certain situations, not something they could rely on. The others were silent and thoughtful; they had to complete their manifestation or they’d quickly feel left behind. If they fell behind, they’d be a burden and would prefer to die than be a hindrance.

In the end, they distributed the new Dao levels to Liumi and Ruri. Then, those with human bloodline received the new Dao. Corin also received one to test if he could use it. Then the whale delivered the Goddess Fey’s Dao to the three young Feys, which she received in the main quest.
