Alm and Bruno got exactly what they were after: information and something very useful. They thought about heading back, but as they turned, they felt an instinctive, irresistible urge to see what was at the center of everything. They didn’t understand why, as it clearly wasn’t worth the risk.

After some grumbling, they decided to use their divine soul to investigate. It was still extremely dangerous, but the urge to go there was strong, and using the soul was slightly less risky than moving physically.

Liumi just watched, confused, as they focused on the distant altar at the center. Finally, Alm and Bruno saw what was there and were a bit surprised.

It was a black egg, about fifty centimeters in diameter, radiating unlimited Yin and Bestial power. It was being nurtured by the entire place, similar to the body in the coffin, but clearly receiving over 80% of everything, while the others around it got the leftovers.

After looking, Alm and Bruno didn’t understand why they wanted to see this so badly. They then turned back and suppressed the feeling.

The duo replaced the coffin lid and headed back to the chain, retracing their steps. If they tried to open and steal from all the coffins, they might trigger something, or if they stayed too long, someone might show up. The safe choice was to leave.

Climbing the stone wall, they didn’t encounter any creatures from this world again. Maybe the creatures were too confident in their defenses and never imagined someone could get this far.

They descended the mountain slowly and returned to the open world. Alm and Bruno marked a common point in the terrain as their starting point and began searching. It didn’t take long before they saw something shining ahead.

The runes of the underground formation were distorting space. A powerful weapon was floating a few centimeters off the ground on its own. Even through the spatial distortion, they could feel its shocking power.

It was a saber, but this saber had a chain wrapped around it, binding it to the underground formation, though it seemed almost loose. This was definitely a powerful weapon. But since the creatures of this world dared to put it there, it meant they weren’t afraid of others taking it.

Liumi looked at it in awe. The outer formation was just the first trap. This chain binding the weapon was the second. By making the chain look so easy to remove, they set an obvious trap that anyone would feel compelled to try and take.

Bruno approached it calmly. The chains had strange fluctuations. If he wanted to touch this chain, he needed something made of the same material or with the same fluctuations.

Coincidentally, he had something like that. A magenta ore appeared in his hand. He gently touched it to the chain and found there was no reaction, no sense of danger. Only then did he feel at ease, a twisted smile appearing on his face as he used the ore violently to break the chain a few times.

CRACK! CRACK! CRACK!

The chains broke, and on the armor, a spatial rune appeared. In the next second, the saber was in his inventory.

"Excellent," Bruno said excitedly, turning to see Liumi’s confused face. "This ore has the same properties as the chains, probably made from it mixed with other laws. The only way to break the chains without triggering the formation is by using something with the same properties, which should be impossible for anyone to have, obviously."

Bruno explained, and her eyes lit up. So, they started searching excitedly for all the treasures they found. But Liumi noticed, without understanding, that he buried pills and some amulets in the ground from time to time.

The duo did everything carefully and moved attentively. A week passed, until suddenly, as they continued, they heard the ground tremble and quickly hid in the hollow rocks once again.

The ground opened up, revealing a huge skeleton. Unlike the saber and other loose things, only its powerful fluctuations emerged, drawing attention. It was enormous, and its bones looked like they were made of gold. The golden skeleton had countless runes spinning along it, and a terrible pressure descended on them.

"These are bones from a terrifying beast. With this, I can make lots of weapons," said Bruno without hesitation. They collected everything, which took almost a day to break all the chains, but it was worth it.

"It seems the powerful treasures aren’t on the surface. For example, this skeleton came from underground, and we wouldn’t have noticed it while it was buried. The sword that Fey is talking about must be on the same level. If we just search blindly like this, we won’t be able to find it even if we search for a lifetime," Bruno said thoughtfully.

Their luck was never reliable, and the search for the sword was an extra task; Heaven’s Will wouldn’t help them. The situation was complicated. They couldn’t dig because the entire ground was in contact with the formation and would probably alert the enemies. The things underground should only appear from time to time, and the place was huge; they could only count on the luck of something getting exposed.

Liumi nodded in understanding, and Alm and Bruno had plenty of time to explain their search to her. Until Liumi remembered something and her mind jumped.

"Master! I can find it!" She said excitedly. "I am a weapon and possess the Dao of the Immortal Weapon God. I can slightly use my power to form a resonance with the underground. I’ll know when there’s something like me below, and I can tell if it’s a sword. If we get a bit lucky, we’ll find it."

Alm and Bruno nodded, surprised and pleased. If they just kept walking, searching, and quickly collecting what appeared in front of them, the chances of finding it wouldn’t be so bad. Only Liumi could do this. She was really proving to be very useful.

So, the duo started searching once again. Liumi was attentive and focused on the underground, looking for a resonance. They made a map and collected various weapons and equipment while searching everywhere; at one point, they even went back to the mountain and took some weapons from its holes. The profits were astronomical, and they gathered many terrifying things.

Days passed, and they found a sword. They waited seven days until it emerged from the underground. It was just a demonic weapon, clearly nothing to do with a Fey.

No matter, they took the sword, of course. Like it, they found another twenty-one swords. Six months of searching went by; even without cultivation power, their bodies were resilient and didn’t need to eat or sleep.

So they searched and searched, avoiding patrols several times. Finally, after waiting nearly a week for the ground to open, they saw a blade that seemed to make the space around it tremble. In it, Alm and Bruno felt a presence staring at them with clearly different fluctuations from the norm.

’We found it,’ Alm and Bruno thought in sync, for sure.

The blade was the size of a common sword and was firmly wrapped in many chains, more than ten times the number of chains binding any other equipment they had seen before. It was clear the beings of this world also saw it as an unmatched treasure.

But the blade was completely fragmented, with cracks covering every corner, as if it would explode at any moment.

Alm and Bruno took a deep breath. The owner of the weapon could only watch them, and the chains prevented it from communicating with the outside. But the divine weapon, which even the greatest thief would admire, was already in their hands.

CRACK! CRACK!

The chains broke after a few hours, and they finally achieved one of their goals. Alm and Bruno were excited; everything was flowing very well. They just needed to find the enhanced seed and leave...

Immediately after these thoughts, the two felt a bitter sensation in sync. They took a deep breath; it was the same feeling as before when they saw that egg. It was something indescribable, but now they were sure that something deeper and connected to them was happening. This wasn’t just a random mission disconnected from them.
