All six of them moved quickly, using Ruri’s spatial laws. The place wasn’t very big and hardly had any people. They soon spotted a region in the middle of the lava sea: a small island made of completely black stones that stood out from everything around it.
As they got closer, a figure appeared, making everyone widen their eyes. Kaiyka was in a terrible state, with severe burns all over her body. Fortunately, her clothes were intact, but even her aura seemed extremely degraded and weak.
"You idiot..." Ruri murmured, stunned.
She knew very well why Kaiyka was pushing herself so hard. Her current power was seriously compromised. Kaiyka was born without memories and was a cultivator from a family that trained mental cultivation intensively; that’s why she built a mental rune when she was in the Elemental Condensation Realm.
Later, she advanced to the divine realms, and when she reached the Divine Origin Realm, she needed to absorb celestial runes into her body. At that time, she chose runes related to mental power to increase her strength... but now that she was cultivating the Sword God’s Dao and spiritual cultivation, those runes were useless.
She was a cultivator without her internal rune, and someone in the Divine Origin Realm who had absorbed celestial runes unrelated to her power. She had to completely erase everything she had learned before and rebuild her strength from scratch; however, an internal rune and absorbed celestial laws were theoretically permanent.

The whale in the other universe gave her a chaos rune. But no one could use this rune properly yet, which was the same as not having it at the moment. Kaiyka knew that if it weren’t for her divine soul, she would be completely useless; that’s why she wanted to push herself to the limit to become stronger. She had a clear goal in mind and a short time to bring her beloved to this universe.
"I already told you that master could help you. If you die trying something impossible, I won’t forgive you," Ruri said, looking at Kaiyka’s painful burns.
Kaiyka lowered her gaze, embarrassed, as the whale’s voice sounded. "Did you try to use the power of chaos?"
"Yes!" She turned and replied promptly. "Although it seems pointless, the laws of chaos, when combined with my soul power, connect perfectly to the formation. But... I only scratched the surface and suffered several defensive reversals trying to move something in the formation."
Alm and Bruno nodded, satisfied. Using her soul power just to investigate, along with the laws of chaos, was something only she could do. They didn’t have control over their soul power for that, and they would only try something similar if they had no other choice. They could find another method to invade the formation, but it would take a lot of time, and they only had a few days until the test ended. There was a real chance they wouldn’t make it in time.
"Good job," the whale said softly. "What kind of internal rune does the Sword God’s Dao allow without conflict?"
Kaiyka widened her eyes and replied a bit awkwardly. "It only accepts a Yin rune because I’m a woman, and that’s naturally present in my body."
"Great, come closer." The whale gestured for her to approach, and Ruri smiled slightly.
Kaiyka ran and stopped in front of him. The whale extended his hand, and his fist glowed with the Yin tattoo. In the next second, Kaiyka felt a power invade her directly, but she didn’t resist and let it do whatever it wanted.
Alm invaded her core and grabbed her mental rune. The world darkened, and all the fire laws were immediately suppressed. It lasted for thirty seconds, and then the whale stopped, and everything returned to normal.
Kaiyka trembled and spat out a mouthful of blood... which was violet in color. Ruri, Rehvka, and Calirer ran to her side and supported her. She continued to spit out violet blood frantically.
The whale nodded, descending to the central spot, and spoke emotionlessly. "I used the celestial power of your rune and converted everything to Yin. Now you have a Yin internal rune, and when you break through to the Heavenly Saint Realm, you can use the tribulation to absorb other correct celestial runes; just don’t make Ruri worry again."
"Thank you... sir..." she said amidst the blood.
Alm and Bruno reached the center of that black island and felt everything with their souls. It was a high-level and complex formation. Within a few minutes, Ruri landed beside them. She felt and analyzed everything for a few minutes, then sighed and spoke.
"I can only guess the general structure. It’s something far beyond my current knowledge."
The whale nodded. She only had the first level of the Dao of Formation God because they hadn’t bought the next levels since it wasn’t a priority and they didn’t know what they would find in the divine realm.
Now, knowing the existence of several such worlds in the galaxy, everything changed. Getting Ruri the next levels became a top priority. If, at higher levels, she could master the formations of places and allow restricted beings to enter under existing restrictions and rules, they would be like tigers gaining wings.
Of course, with the Law of Duality of Shadows, they could simply destroy everything. But if they did that, they would be hunted and marked throughout the universe immediately. They couldn’t raise suspicions by being too abnormal. Kaiyka from the past was an example and died for being too conspicuous. They had to elevate themselves and become strong first before making big moves.
"This is enough; just find where the defensive mechanisms are. We’ll destroy those first, then it will be easy to use the formation to collect the stones." The whale said softly to Ruri.
The two joined hands, and the whale handed everything over to Ruri. He used the same method as Kaiyka, merging his divine soul with a bit of chaos power. He didn’t have spiritual cultivation, but his divine soul was as strong as hers; cultivation only refined that power and gave it other capabilities. For this current use, the raw power was enough. And with Ruri guiding everything perfectly, it was a smooth and flawless job.
In less than an hour, Ruri sighed heavily, relieved. When they wanted to do sneaky and dubious things like stealing something, this couple working together seemed made for each other.
"All set, master." Ruri said excitedly.
A few minutes later, the entire world began to shake violently. Everyone taking the test was completely frightened and panicked. But everything stopped abruptly.
Back in the central zone, Ruri and the whale were smiling maliciously. Then the Yin and Yang tattoos pulsed with full force.
The rest of the group just watched from above as those two worked together as if they were one. They really did seem like a dark couple, plotting sinister things, excited with their wicked fun plastered on their faces. Suddenly, the entire black island changed to a deep scarlet color. Then the black island disappeared and began to expand... and it didn’t stop...
The whale nodded, opening the inventory and quickly swallowing everything. But it seemed endless, and a smile spread across his face. What kept appearing was the purest primordial flame stone, the supreme treasure of this place.
Practically 90% of the stones in this entire world were accumulated at the center of the formation, inert. The rest was scattered all around... now everything was taken mercilessly.
