’What the hell happened?!’ The whale’s message echoed in Ruri’s mind through the array.

’Master... one of them attacked me, and I beat him down. But then another, and another came... on the first day, I took down half a dozen of them,’ Ruri replied quickly. ’But I didn’t kill them, and at some point, they started coming in groups. And now... something happened, and everyone seems to want to defeat me at all costs.’

Alm and Bruno were stunned. It wasn’t an isolated event; it was exactly all the recruits in the Shadow God sect’s branch. They were acting in sync as if something extremely important had happened.

’That necromancer... we acted to capture him after feeling something was wrong with him. It was impossible for him to know we were watching him. We shouldn’t have killed him so quickly,’ Alm said dryly.

That human necromancer had been monitored all the time by them. When they acted and sealed the people, he was at a ’safe’ distance, and didn’t react or try to escape. Amidst the whale’s words to the Feys, he suddenly changed to a strange expression and was then swiftly captured.

In mid-air, the whale found a nearby target and shot towards it. They saw a demon heading towards Ruri, so without any hesitation, they captured him as if he were a chicken.

"If you resist, you die." They only spoke dryly, and invaded his mind, reading his memories.

The demon trembled in the air, but he wasn’t crazy enough to resist. After a few seconds, the whale threw him to the ground with a crash.

’Damn... I knew I had let something slip. My instincts warned me, but I just ignored them,’ Bruno said coldly. (Chapter 523)

’That divine sect that used the planet of the Orcs and Harpies was a branch of the Shadow God. We and Ruri destroyed that entire divine branch, but it should have been impossible for us to be discovered; the dead don’t talk, and their souls should have been taken by the laws before any powerful being could reach that planet,’ Alm analyzed, then sighed. ’The queen’s universe always surprises us, unknown things managed to connect us to the event.’

There was a lot of missing information, and that demon didn’t know much. Ruri wasn’t in real danger; she was just using a tiny fraction of her power, but with so many surrounding her, it would be dangerous if they did nothing.

The whale sent a message to Corin. He was with Calirer, and they both should go where Ruri was and help her. Then the whale quickly searched for others who were running towards Ruri. They were coming from all sides, and it was easy to find another one in a second.

Alm and Bruno spent an hour and attacked and read the memories of dozens of them until they finally found someone who really knew what was going on. They found a young man considered a genius, who had high-level contacts within that branch. Now, they understood the events and the situation a little better.

’Damn, we’ve had some bad luck,’ Bruno muttered dryly.

The leader of the branch they destroyed was a man, and he was married to the leader of this branch next to the Yinblood sect. She used something secret to discover them, and the aura of the whale and Ruri were marked by this secret method, for all the branch’s disciples.

Any disciple who was within a distance the size of that place would receive an alert to kill them. They had barely arrived in the divine world, and now an entire divine sect was hunting them down at all costs. Now they were just recruits; but eventually, the whole sect would pursue them, and the dangers would be immense.

As for the events that led everyone to suddenly attack Ruri, it was another stroke of bad luck. A distant relative of the branch leader was taking the test, and Ruri beat him up. He saw that he would never defeat her, so he alerted all the recruits about the matter in an attempt to outnumber her. Little did he know that if Ruri went all out, she would kill everyone, no matter the numbers, in minutes.

Everyone felt the alert as soon as they stepped into this world, but initially, only a small part of the people really understood its meaning. Now, everyone understood that they would gain a lot if they took her down.

’Let’s regroup and head to the upper area,’ Alm said calmly. ’Staying here isn’t an option. If we kill everyone, those from the Yinblood sect will see us, and we’ll be too conspicuous; then, all our plans will go down the drain.’

’What difference does it make? We’re going to be hunted everywhere in this test. We’ll have to run until time runs out,’ Bruno retorted, not understanding.

Alm replied emotionlessly, ’They want the gains, but the levels above are deadly places for them. Those young ones trying to pass the entrance test aren’t crazy enough to cross over to certain death. And in the central area, only Kaiyka from the Yinblood sect is taking the test, remember? Let’s just kill everyone there, and the Yinblood sect won’t find out.’

Bruno remembered what that blue Fey, who came to explain and take everyone to the sect’s test, said. Because she had a cultivation at the maximum limit to be recruited, only Kaiyka was taking the sect’s test alone in an isolated region. With her, there were only people from other sects. At least, after so much bad luck, they had some luck.

The whale moved towards the trio, running and fighting against a swarm of cultivators. They were trying not to kill directly, and the whale ordered everyone to act as if they were fighting desperately. Many eyes from all sects were watching the event; by doing this, they would hide their true power, it was safer that way. They were already being pursued by a divine sect, fortunately only the branch, but they didn’t want any more trouble.

They weren’t using even 10% of their real power; these young ones were so weak and inexperienced that for the trio, it was easy to flee and still pretend. But their Qi wasn’t infinite; to do this, they were consuming it slowly, they couldn’t spend the rest of the days like this.

The whale pierced the sky, approaching the group that was running. In that second, a voice thundered like a roar.

"AND HE’S THE SECOND TARGET!" The whale turned around and saw a demon pointing in its direction.

In the same second, the swarm split in two, one around the whale, the other around Ruri.

The whale snorted and sent a message to Ruri and Corin. To continue with the charade, they would have to fly through the skies and gradually approach the upper area.

Everyone moved while blocking blows, fleeing, and occasionally attacking to push back. Ruri and the whale did everything with a serious expression, and with broad movements as if they were desperate.

After two hours, and with the next level already in sight, that was when the whale turned in a direction and narrowed its eyes genuinely. A commotion and the sound of battle sounded coming in their direction.

’Idiots,’ Alm murmured.

"LORD! Our clans will repay the favor, even if we die!"

A sharp voice, like that of a child, sounded. It was Ambry moving along with her clan. Surprisingly, she was alongside Kisala and the Feral Fey clan. In their midst, Idris also fought. They all joined forces after seeing the whale being pursued and came to help. Or hinder...

They tried to make their way towards the whale, amidst the swarm in the skies. Quickly, the demons retaliated, and the Feys began to get injured. The Feral Fey, focused on agility, amid so many enemies, couldn’t dodge; they were injuring themselves almost severely.

The whale and its group were close to leaving this area, but they felt that these idiots would follow them uselessly to the next level, thus ruining the whole plan.
