Kaiyka forced her mind and body to calm down, but her willpower meant nothing under that gaze. In that moment, she felt directly in her soul who she was dealing with. This missionary wasn’t like her... he emanated an ancestry far beyond what could be imagined, and his killing intent was so strong that even the world’s laws seemed to accept the inevitable outcome.

"You..." She tried to say something, but the death looming over her became denser, and her throat closed up.

Despair took over, and she quickly signaled with her eyes. Alm and Bruno observed her gaze into the void and understood that she had accepted something, similar to their system.

The whale gripped his saber, and the Yin around him pulsed, ready to strike. They weren’t sure what she would do and would attack at the slightest hint of suspicion. She felt their intentions and sensed her end was as near as the next dawn. She quickly spoke, stammering.

"This... this is the celestial miracle! You must know it... I got one use as a reward after being reborn. We can escape anywhere... calm down..."

The whale snorted dryly and looked directly into her eyes. There was no intention behind it, and his instincts told him she didn’t want trouble.

"Take us near that wild planet related to the job." The whale spoke dryly, taking slow steps toward Kaiyka.

His killing intent didn’t diminish at all. She watched his steps toward her and instinctively took two steps back. But she quickly took a deep breath, nodded in agreement, and clenched her fists.

The whale reached her side, and the celestial laws around them contorted. At the same time, the moon and the entire violet sky went dark. A shadow materialized on the whale’s back slowly; within seconds, a small figure, completely exhausted and struggling to stay awake, appeared. Ruri clung to the whale’s neck and latched onto his back.

The entire world trembled and began to collapse rapidly. "You have two seconds."

The whale said dryly, looking at Kaiyka. Her heart jumped, and she quickly nodded, almost desperately. In the next second, thousands of spatial runes appeared around them and pulsed with full power.

Outside, all the beasts clearly saw the world slowly disintegrating, but they didn’t move out of fear. Everything happened so fast, and the deaths of those two beasts triggered an alert within the sect; they knew their members had been killed instantly.

There were many doubts and uncertainties; they didn’t know what they were dealing with. The only thing everyone knew was that the enemies had to be human. They heard the scream of that hawk when it arrived and attacked. But, besides the first two, no one saw the invaders clearly.

Before everything happened, all the weaker cultivators were inside the sect, being protected, while the powerful ones were gathered, discussing what they would do if the situation escalated further. Those two were the only ones nearby when it all went down. They were mediocre and disposable members chosen to watch the expansion of the golden power at its outermost limit, observing closely.

It was their bad luck to be the first to die tragically, but it was incredible luck for the trio.

When the entire place collapsed, only a void appeared before everyone’s eyes. They saw no sign of the invaders, but they could feel the Yin of the two beasts’ deaths and the bloody marks of their end.

In a place far from there, near the wild planet, at the exact point where Ruri created the distortion that took them to a distant place, a new distortion emerged, and they returned silently.

It was a smooth return without any fluctuations; after all, they were brought back by the celestial laws. Kaiyka sighed in relief, seeing herself far from that terrifying world Ruri created. She truly felt scared seeing what happened to those two beasts. Those two had the same current cultivation level as her, but since she had just been reborn, she hadn’t had time to cultivate her special techniques. In that world, she wouldn’t have fared any better than those beasts.

’Everything is gone, I am...’

Kaiyka’s thoughts were abruptly interrupted. She immediately tried to circulate her Qi, but... she felt her entire meridian and core completely blocked. She quickly activated all the power of her divine soul. She was at less than 5%, but she would recover gradually. Using her experience and technique, it should be easy...

Kaiyka’s eyes widened. Her entire soul was immediately chained by violet runes, completely sealing it.

"Did you think you were free?" The whale’s sarcastic voice echoed with villainous vibrations.

Ruri, on his back, was breathing deeply. She had received Qi from them through the array and used her last remnants of mental power to activate the technique. She used something nostalgic for the two of them: the first mental technique her master gave her when she was a young girl: the Medium Soul Sealing Technique. (Chapter 24/25)

Despite having "Soul" in the name, it was a legitimate mental power technique. Even Alm and Bruno, at the beginning, thought it was a spiritual technique because they hadn’t studied much about soul and mental power. Its name came from its ability to seal using mental power, easily sealing even a soul.

The whale hadn’t ordered Ruri to suppress Kaiyka earlier because he knew she had something that could save them; this was their last hope. So, she didn’t suspect anything and got them out of there. But Kaiyka was in Ruri’s world, and sneakily, using her superior mental cultivation, Ruri placed some of her power inside her.

Now, even with a divine soul, being very weakened and caught by surprise, Kaiyka was completely sealed. A divine cultivator with the status of a high elder in her family had become a harmless mortal in front of them.

"You! I... I just wanted to test you!" Kaiyka quickly said in panic.

Ruri was the first to explode, even in her weak state. "Test? You bitch! You not only put us in danger, but you also endangered all our allies on the planet. You stabbed us in the back, I trusted you!"

The whale sighed and gave Kaiyka a cold look. She trembled from head to toe; there was no possibility of reacting or escaping. She had just been reborn but had already plunged into the mortal abyss again.

"The karma of betrayal can only be expunged with death." The whale’s words were slow, but they struck like lightning in the woman’s mind before him. "I saved you by Heaven’s Will. And because of my friendship with Ruri, I thought you’d have a minimum of gratitude. Well..."

"Wait! I... I was wrong." Kaiyka quickly said, searching for the right words. "Heaven’s Will told me you would lead everyone for the counter-attack, I... I was hasty, but I can still be useful."

"Useful? Someone who puts everyone’s lives at risk, acting thoughtlessly, just out of sheer arrogance? Do you think anyone would accept an ally like that? Don’t worry, you’ll indeed be useful; your memories and techniques will be very useful to everyone. You being reborn with your memories was a gift, and you’ll fulfill your role. You can go with a clear conscience."

The whale spoke calmly, and his saber moved lightly through the void of space. Kaiyka saw it in slow motion and then, finally, it hit her.

She had never truly believed she would die one day. Even when she was surrounded by the hero along with her husband, everything had been planned for her rebirth. As for her husband, she knew how to reunite with him in the future. But now... everything would end forever.

Her eyes trembled, and tears flowed rapidly. She looked at Ruri, searching for something; Ruri just stared back coldly, clearly the most hurt and pained person in this story.

Before their memories returned, the two had created a bond of trust where they promised to help each other with everything. Now, seeing the pain and disappointment in Ruri’s eyes, Kaiyka realized the depth and consequences of her actions.

It wasn’t just Ruri; the whale had helped her a lot too. He made a weapon for her, gave her a cultivation technique, and guided her without asking for anything in return for his heritage. He even opened his city full of secrets to her.

"What... what have I done..." Kaiyka murmured, trembling and full of regret. She saw the whale take a step in front of her, and in that moment, she accepted everything. It was fair... at least her memories would help them a bit and repay her debt.

All her trembling and tears ceased. Kaiyka just lowered her head and closed her eyes sadly. In her last moments, she accepted and understood. When they trusted her, protected her, and helped her without asking for anything in return, all she needed to do was be loyal... but she chose to let her sense of superiority dominate her. As soon as she was reborn, she stopped seeing them as allies and only saw them as those who could benefit her or not.

"I deserve this." She gave her final murmur in acceptance and waited for the end.

But... seconds passed. Then a minute... two... five... nothing changed, and Kaiyka opened her eyes, confused.

"Clench your teeth!" Her gaze met Ruri’s, who spat out the words coldly.

BAM!

Ruri delivered a perfect spinning kick, using every last bit of strength she had in her body. She had never kicked with such force in her life, hitting the woman in front of her squarely and violently in the face.

Kaiyka flew through space for several meters, spinning like a kite with its strings cut. She spat out some blood, but Ruri’s kick wasn’t that powerful. As soon as she stopped in the void and looked up, she saw Ruri’s eyes on her, and the sharp pain of shame was infinitely greater. It would have been better if her head had exploded with that kick.

Ruri looked away coldly and turned to the whale. "Master, please, I promise to take care of her and discipline her. If she steps out of line, I’ll make her wish for death and never achieve it."

The whale snorted deeply, but before those eyes of hers, he could only accept and swallow it. They nodded softly, and Ruri smiled. The whale’s hand moved and touched her head, then Ruri passed out.

At that moment, Kaiyka trembled. He knocked out Ruri... he didn’t want her to see this...

"Stop thinking nonsense," the whale interrupted her thoughts. "I don’t trust you, and now, Ruri doesn’t either. If you even think about doing something wrong, I guarantee I’ll know and kill you immediately."

She nodded quickly, completely stunned. The whale stared at her coldly and sighed indifferently. For Alm and Bruno, someone they didn’t trust was better off dead. But in the end, it seemed Kaiyka hadn’t managed to ruin everything.

Ruri fixed the problem with her Dao, and they escaped without being seen. So the two couldn’t deny Ruri’s decision to forgive her temporarily. Now they would be extremely vigilant; at the slightest sign, they would really cut the problem at the root. Kaiyka clearly felt the whale’s intentions as clear as day and swallowed hard. Her life was worth so little to them that if they were just in a bad mood, she would already be in great danger.
